Why Is McDonald's Struggling In The Philippines? Jollibee
HTML-код
- Опубликовано: 19 ноя 2018
- McDonald's and Burger King have both been struggling in the Philippines because of local rival Jollibee, and now the Filipino fast-food chain is making a play for the American market.
McDonald's is an American fast-food behemoth. With more than 37,000 restaurants in 120 countries, the chain dominates pretty much every market it chooses to enter. But in the Philippines, where McDonald's has been trying and failing for nearly 40 years to be No. 1, a local chain is giving McDonald's a run for its money: Jollibee.
Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC), which has a market capitalization of around $5 billion, owns 14 brands with 4,300 restaurants around the world. Its Jollibee brand has over 1,300 locations and is the largest fast-food chain in the Philippines, operating a domestic network of over 1,000 stores.
The corporation has also embarked on a self-confessed "aggressive" international expansion strategy that has resulted in operations in the U.S., Vietnam, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Brunei.
Watch this video to find out why this Filipino fast-food chain is challenging major international rivals at home - and abroad.

Jollibee Is Why McDonald's Struggles In The Philippines
Mcdonalds choosing to go beside Jollibee literally is a suicide move.
🤣😂😂😂
Facts
Lmao, most filipinos just park in mcdo to buy french fries, then go to Jollibee and buy the whole menu.
True😂
@@qW1zx0 or just park in there because there's no more space 🤣
To be perfectly honest Filipinos use McDonald's parking space then goes straight to the next door Jollibee lol.
Wow
That actually depends, most Filipinos don't do that in fear that they might get sued or fined
Lmao
WAIT WUT I dont think so
Maybe because they are always neighbors lol when there's a jollibee there will always be a Mcdo near it 😂
I like Jollibee in the US and I'm not Filipino but they need to open more restaurants in the US because I'm very often not near the few that are here. Please open another 1,000 Jollibee's in the US and thank you.
But they might find Jollibee, unAmerican
And tell the restaurant to "go back to your country"
Due to Racism
But that's just on me, those statements above are gonna be possible "racist rants"
Every business owner wants their business to grow, and Jollibee's current stand is a very positive outcome of it
@@jmvpams1380 They could just ignore those old American people since they’re so isolated in their cruddy minds as if they’re stuck in the 1970’s and below. Millennials and Gen Z guys would pretty much enjoy Jollibee if they made to the US since they’re probably sick and tired with their crappy fast food branches there.
@@PinoyBowlerGS92 That's your opinion! Why so much hate on someone and something that you are not familiar with? I know a lot of Americans that appreciate and love Filipino foods. A lot of Filipino Americans doesn't think like you!!

What I'm saying are possible negative comments about it

Then it's a good thing
A sign the business is growing

Jollibee is a very strategic company in the Philippines, along with SM, San Miguel and maybe Ayala
Price/KCal, especially considering Macronutrient Composition? Jollibee is tasty af too. They're in the US, but AFAIK only in Shopping Malls near metropolitan Cities.
As a child, i was mortified from mcdonald’s mascot, like whenever we went there, i would cry if my mother would force me to take a picture with that clown 😃
seym seym
I can't even look at his statue when I was a kid
I remember when McDo still had their purple mascot (one of Ronald’s friends) and I was spooked in my birthday. I wanted Jollibee real bad
ronald is creepy af
i cried when i see a mascot...
Simple explanation....Jollibee represents Filipino culture, it reminds most Filipinos back when they were still a child and their parents or relatives used to take them there to cheer them up, spend family time or celebrate a special occasion. Why? Because not a lot of Filipinos can afford to take their children to fancy restaurants or expensive outings. Whilst it may seem cheap and weird to spend quality time with your family in Jollibee you have to understand this is part of the Filipino family traditions, rich or poor. When we Filipinos take a bite on that crispy Chickenjoy served with gravy poured over rice , the nice sweet spaghetti bolognese with hot dogs or the warm, sweet peach mango pie it brings us back happy childhood memories, it reminds us of the time we spent with our families. Jollibee is Philippines' national pride and treasure!
@AnOriginal Name eh d wag mo kainin, 😂 pero ang alat ng fries nila..kahit may ketchup, hirap ko maubos ung isang order ng fries..

McD is mainly a burger chain joint and Jollibee is for most a chicken rice meal brand hence it's famous in those countries rice is a big part of their meal
And this video is for promotional purposes 😆

I saw the rice portion of it it's like a seasoning it's smaller than trumps hand ✋😆
Onigiri had more rice than this
This is how Philippines portioning their food? Or it's only exclusive in Jollibee?

I am not Filipino, but I got summoned anyways!
@@acetv5333 It's not racist. Jollibee's was made in the Philippines, therefore it will attract Filipino's more than most ethnicities

I'm Filipino. McDonald's is super popular in the PH. I don't know why people are suggesting it is second tier to Jollibee. From what I have seen they are the same tier of popularity, if McDo isn't slightly ahead. Chicken McDo > chicken Joy
It's about the sells.
As long the sales going up it's good competitions because it's the productivity and the people's has more buying capabilities
