I absolutely hate when games put “no dying” achievements in. I was fully set to kick back and get immersed in the game…and now I have to watch a guide the entire time so I know every move perfectly. I cannot understand why developers would want people to be forced to follow guides instead of just enjoying the game. Makes no sense to me. **NOTE** Obviously I appreciate the guides being created and want to support the people who make them. But “collect all” achievements are a lot different. Additionally, if they MUST put “no dying” achievements in, do it per chapter. Eg. ‘Complete Chapter 1 without dying,’ etc.

No one is forcing you to follow a guide at all, you're choosing to do so rather than miss out on achievements. I hopped onto this guide because I was having issues with "Savior" because apparently a couple gnomes hide off to the side when you restart from checkpoint. But I was doing this after my initial playthrough, and have just finished up my Survivor run. Could I have done one playthrough had my eyes been glued to a guide the whole time? Sure. But one's experience getting cheapened from that is not on the developer, nor the guide maker, but the player themselves for choosing not to play the game without having their hand held.

If you do not care about achievements, you’re not going to sweat for it. And if you do care about achievements and enjoy collecting them all, it is incredibly unenjoyable. I’m certain there are actually some people who enjoy the incredibly difficult achievements, but definitely less than those of us who just enjoy getting a full completion. Regardless, I find it a poor decision, one that I am actually allowed to place blame on the developer for, as I am ANY other creative decision they made. It’s art and it is going to receive criticism based on the eye of the beholder. You do not have to agree with any of my view points. ✌️
Completed this game earlier this week and got all the achievements except for the one for completing the game without dying. That's one achievement I can live without 🤣
Really don't understand how anyone had the patience to go for that achievement. I would have had to reload from the cloud at least 100 times. The camera and controls are so bad almost every section gives a potential death as you've no idea which way you will jump or walk. Why make an achievement that clearly everyone will cheat to get. A system like planet of Lana or that will allow "reloading checkpoints" would make much more sense

Everything is shit, you just die from ANYTHING, the character control has 0% accuracy, sometimes you're about to jump but you can't, other times it looks like you're going to fall right but you fall too far, camera just doesn't help at all . swamp boss, I died because I couldn't see him in the water, graphics on ultra and still hard to see clearly for me. This achievement is difficult because it seems to me that the game was not designed to win without dying
I still to this day don't know why devs keep insisting on ruining great games with shitty achs like not dying or speed runs OR fucking BOTH simultaneously. Especially in games like Limbo, Little Nightmares, Bramble etc that are basically 100% finicky as fuck at the best of times and trial and error is the basic mechanic of the game.
It's not really ruining the game though. Your obsession with getting every achievement is what you don't find enjoyable. Newsflash bud, achievements aren't always going to be easy, that's the point of them
I would 100% agree with you. The best achievements are ones that make you experience more of the game. Like use all the weapons and skills, or do optional areas and side quests. These achievements make you appreciate and love the game more. Not dieing in a boss battle is probably a good achievement for a hardcore souls like game or something. But for a more casual game it makes no sense to have a mega frustrating achievement. The worst for me was the "Can't catch me" trophy in Stray. With tons of enemies and enemy attacks being so random not getting any damage is not skill based. Luck is a massive part of it and for a casual cat game why add something that does nothing but frustrate the players like crazy.

With so few people completing games any way to encourage players to finish the game and see the content that the devs have spent so much time working on is a good thing. For games that are designed to be challenging it makes sense that the achievements are tough & challenging. For games that are more casual and appeal to more casual gamers why have an achievement that is a totally out of character with the game and just frustrating? You get gamers that generally don't care about achievements but if they really like a game they want to get the platinum or 1000g for that game. If you have a punishing achievement in a casual game you are just going to leave those players that loved your casual game with a lasting feeling of disapointment and frustration as they are just not hardcore gamer enough to get the 1000g.

A hardcore gamer is not going to get cool bragging rights for not dieing in a casual game with slightly dodgy controls. The developers are just negatively impacting their main audience. Been using your guides for a while now great guides they have helped me so much. Also i love the jokes you tell and some of the stuff you say during these guides brightens up my day every time i watch one of your guides while playing a game keep it up dude.
I highly recommend playing through this game a first time on your own and then going back and getting all achievements. I think this game is great but feel like trying to get all achievements on your first run would ruin the experience.
My god this was a tediuous game to 100%... thankfully I managed to get the survivor achievement, thanks to your guide and humour for keeping me sane during!
This game reminds me a lot of Planet of Lana which causes instant mental trauma. Games with such terrible controls AND ‘no deaths’ runs are to be skipped. It’s a shame the developers make such a beautiful game but are too sadistic to let people enjoy it! I am not going through cloud save hell again like in Planet of Lana! Edit: I completed it today using the Cloud Save trick countless of times. It’s a beautiful game but this achievement and the bad controls make is such a pain in the ass. Especially the last boss fight :(
I actually didn’t give up, I plowed on through, BUT I FORGOT HOW TO DO THE SAVE THING!! I did exactly what Welsh Hunter did, and I was actually quitting out of my game, THEN deleting the local save, so I was doing this entire playthrough like that, for no reason at all

First off, thank you so much for another great guide. Secondly, talk about mixed feelings about this game. On one hand, I loved the story and the dark fantasy world. At the same time though, the wonky controls and unskippable cutscenes made the Survivor achievement incredibly annoying. For example, I can't believe how many times I died from some of the simple platforming. Also, there were several times when I'd quit out of the game to make a save, die, delete the local save, and then be placed like 10 minutes back forcing me to replay several sections of the game. Lastly, I accidentally deleted my save from everywhere during the second phase for Pesta, which obviously meant I had to replay the entire game.
Great guide as always. The end boss was nearly impossible, I learned that cloud save thing which will help in other games, and I held my breath that it worked and when it popped I was riddled with serotonins so thanks. Only thing that didn’t pop was the collector achievement so gonna try and see if I somehow missed something even though all the individual ones popped.
Great guide to an absolute pain in the arse game. 30 GS for completing it without not dying not worth the amount of bloody time required . Keep them guides coming chief.

What a game lol, finally got it. I will say that last ending sequence was dope. Arrangement seems obvious given the title lol but enjoyed it despite the worry of not dying. I also found only attacking after the sword or shockwave to be extremely helpful. Once I started doing that I had no probs and made it so much easier to focus solely on the scepter and stalactites. When trying to hit before I would inevitably get crushed or boxed in and unable to avoid a last min crunch. Good luck all!
Great guide Welsh, would be hell doing this legit! I'm not one to shy away from a challenge but so much is just dumb luck. I.E I'm at the zombie section climbing the netting well above the line and plop, all of a sudden just fell into the water. And before that I had made a perfectly timed directional jump toward the boards and somehow side jumped over the platform & into the water smh. Also in the swamp area I just randomly fell off while grabbing a ledge. I could go on lol. Luckily I backed up and I had died a few times anyway. The river section, a couple on the stealths and water, and once during the busty boss b.c of a momentary lapse & not for reasons one may think lol. Those were all on me and just dumb mistakes/unfamiliarity. Granted its a first play, and takes exp to get the timing/mechanics down etc but even still... so much of this game is awkward controlling or luck based that a legit play would be maddening. Oh and I hadnt even gotten to the harder phase fights yet lol. But I digress, great guide and thanks as always. I feel bad at times and hate having to cheese it but w.e lol. All's fair in love & war I suppose plus most are doing the same anyways why torture myself.
READ THIS FOR THE NOT DYING ACHIEVEMENT!!!! This achievement looks daunting but thankfully it's not as hard as Little Nightmares as i found a workaround. You can use the Cloud save trick to have a backup save. It makes this task alot easier ! To use it: - Close the game to make a backup save to which checkpoint you want to save. - If you die,don't quit or anything ! Press the xbox button then the 3 lines button on Bramble and go to "Manage game and add-ons" -> "Saved data" -> Your profile -> and erase your local save only !!! - The game will be closed. Launch it again,you'll have a Cloud sync and when you'll hit "Continue" you'll be back at the point you were when you quit the game. Also,DO NOT load a previous checkpoint,even if you aren't dead.Doing this will void the achievement. So always do the Cloud save trick,death or not ! That's all,enjoy your (easier) completion now ! 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤
What a fantastic game. I don't mind the challenge of playing through a game without dying or restarting a checkpoint if it's not overly long but some of the boss fights are going to suck extremely bad. Reminds me of Unravel but this will definitely be harder than that.

I'm stick at 2.18 I cant jump over the small wall is anyone else having the same problem I tried reloading but it still doesn't work. I've glitched out the gate a few times but the next scene doesn't show I just end up running round the field in the background, I need help XD
Regardless of what it's being played on it's the same game; there's no advantage or disadvantage playing on console vs ps it's still a Good storyline/art game but not a good platformer lol.
You can't do the cloud trick on the pc game pass right? I was curious because I only play pc game pass so I was thinking if it works on your pc as well or not.

The Collector achievement is glitched. The counter does not go by 90%. Anyone have a solution? Edit* so anyone whos collector achievement didnt unlock dont worry it appears to be a delay. I've hard reset my console and have come back and it appears to have unlocked.
@@AminRasfijani I waited a full day. I hard reset my console and booted the game up. Noticed it hadn't registered waited a day and it was unlocked. All I have left is the no death run.
Took 3 restart from checkpoint before one of them would even enter the first doorway! Then when I finally gave up trying after getting what looked to be six across - 2 appeared out of nowhere as I went down the hill - and achievement popped. Were never 8 visibly following as I passed the traps.
Played this game on PS5 with no problem. Now playing on gamepass. The xbox platform is terrible. I kicked the apple through the hoop 2 minutes ago. No achievement! Achievements can be delayed from seconds to hours. Makes it impossible to know if you should carry on playing or do you need to try again? playing on xbox is so frustrating if you like achievements. Like you said, instead of getting that high when the trophy sound pops. On xbox you get silence and that sinking paranoia feeling!
I struggled big time on the last phase of the final boss. I have died every possible way. And of course the stupid 30G Survivor achievement didn't work. I loved the game but to replay it all over again without dying even with the cloud save trick is extremely tedious.
Same here mate, with everything.. Pain in the ass the last phase is and got extra pissed when the achievement didn't unlock.. It'll take a lot for me to want to go back and do it tbh lol
It was very enjoyable, loved it throughout. What I would recommend is enjoying the game without the pressure of yhe dying achievement, and maybe go for the no death run in a second playthrough.. It's up to you of course though lol. Otherwise, really excellent game
So what you'll need to do (rather annoyingly) is if you come up to any section you think you might die at.. platforming, stealth or boss section. You'll need to dashboard and totally quit the the game. That creates the back up save.. Then if you die, you need to hit dashboard button again, go to game, go to manage game and add ons, click your profile, go to delete, make sure you only delete your local save! (Never choose delete from everywhere) Then you should restart from your last back up save.. Pain in the ass but it helps lol

What a game lol, finally got it. I will say that last ending sequence was dope. Arrangement seems obvious given the title lol but enjoyed it despite the worry of not dying. I also found only attacking after the sword or shockwave to be extremely helpful. Once I started doing that I had no probs and made it so much easier to focus solely on the scepter and stalactites. When trying to hit before I would inevitably get crushed or boxed in and unable to avoid a last min crunch. Good luck all!

Great guide Welsh, would be hell doing this legit! I'm not one to shy away from a challenge but so much is just dumb luck. I.E I'm at the zombie section climbing the netting well above the line and plop, all of a sudden just fell into the water. And before that I had made a perfectly timed directional jump toward the boards and somehow side jumped over the platform & into the water smh. Also in the swamp area I just randomly fell off while grabbing a ledge. I could go on lol. Luckily I backed up and I had died a few times anyway. The river section, a couple on the stealths and water, and once during the busty boss b.c of a momentary lapse & not for reasons one may think lol. Those were all on me and just dumb mistakes/unfamiliarity. Granted its a first play, and takes exp to get the timing/mechanics down etc but even still... so much of this game is awkward controlling or luck based that a legit play would be maddening. Oh and I hadnt even gotten to the harder phase fights yet lol. But I digress, great guide and thanks as always. I feel bad at times and hate having to cheese it but w.e lol. All's fair in love & war I suppose plus most are doing the same anyways why torture myself.
Heads up, if you beat the game once. In your second playthrough, You can skip through the cutscenes with the B button.

READ THIS FOR THE NOT DYING ACHIEVEMENT!!!! This achievement looks daunting but thankfully it's not as hard as Little Nightmares as i found a workaround.
You can use the Cloud save trick to have a backup save. It makes this task alot easier !
To use it:
- Close the game to make a backup save to which checkpoint you want to save.
- If you die,don't quit or anything ! Press the xbox button then the 3 lines button on Bramble and go to "Manage game and add-ons" -> "Saved data" -> Your profile -> and erase your local save only !!!
- The game will be closed. Launch it again,you'll have a Cloud sync and when you'll hit "Continue" you'll be back at the point you were when you quit the game.
Also,DO NOT load a previous checkpoint,even if you aren't dead.Doing this will void the achievement.
So always do the Cloud save trick,death or not !
That's all,enjoy your (easier) completion now ! 😊😊😊😊😊😊❤

What a fantastic game. I don't mind the challenge of playing through a game without dying or restarting a checkpoint if it's not overly long but some of the boss fights are going to suck extremely bad. Reminds me of Unravel but this will definitely be harder than that.

Yeah PowerPyx was way off on there completion difficulty, if anyone managed this in 1 run I would be quite surprised, especially on console.
Regardless of what it's being played on it's the same game; there's no advantage or disadvantage playing on console vs ps it's still a Good storyline/art game but not a good platformer lol.
This game reminded me a lot of brothers a tale of two sons. Enjoyed this game a lot, but could have done without the no death run.

The trophies popping fast isn't really any better because then when it doesn't you know there was an issue.
The Collector achievement is glitched.

Edit* so anyone whos collector achievement didnt unlock dont worry it appears to be a delay. I've hard reset my console and have come back and it appears to have unlocked.

I hard reset my console and booted the game up. Noticed it hadn't registered waited a day and it was unlocked. All I have left is the no death run.

Hi, no understand how unlock survivor..
Savior achievement, I could only get 6 of those annoying little things
Took 3 restart from checkpoint before one of them would even enter the first doorway! Then when I finally gave up trying after getting what looked to be six across - 2 appeared out of nowhere as I went down the hill - and achievement popped. Were never 8 visibly following as I passed the traps.

Played this game on PS5 with no problem. Now playing on gamepass. The xbox platform is terrible. I kicked the apple through the hoop 2 minutes ago. No achievement! Achievements can be delayed from seconds to hours. Makes it impossible to know if you should carry on playing or do you need to try again? playing on xbox is so frustrating if you like achievements. Like you said, instead of getting that high when the trophy sound pops. On xbox you get silence and that sinking paranoia feeling!
Doing this with the usb stick on ps4 doesn't work.

I struggled big time on the last phase of the final boss. I have died every possible way. And of course the stupid 30G Survivor achievement didn't work. I loved the game but to replay it all over again without dying even with the cloud save trick is extremely tedious.

It was very enjoyable, loved it throughout.
What I would recommend is enjoying the game without the pressure of yhe dying achievement, and maybe go for the no death run in a second playthrough..
It's up to you of course though lol.

On series x… how can I do the game without dying if I can’t create a back up save?
So what you'll need to do (rather annoyingly) is if you come up to any section you think you might die at.. platforming, stealth or boss section.
You'll need to dashboard and totally quit the the game.
That creates the back up save..
Then if you die, you need to hit dashboard button again, go to game, go to manage game and add ons, click your profile, go to delete, make sure you only delete your local save! (Never choose delete from everywhere)
Then you should restart from your last back up save..
Pain in the ass but it helps lol
