Thank you Mynda. The most appreciated thing for me is that you can learn a lot by analyzing the proposed functions. Yes, I know it is a supercharger for calculation/dashboard development but the possibility to see the way they achieve it is really interesting.
I'm doing something similar with Libre Office Calc. I use a free A.I. Formula Generator to create macros to run everything. With carefully structured prompts, A.I. is teaching me to create spreadsheet programs.
This is great stuff. It's a functionality that I've been using in Power Query for a while now and I've always thought it odd that it wasn't available in the front end for standard Excel formulas, seeing as only a tiny % of Excel users use Power Query.
It is very good to know that makes this program a life bit easy. If people like me may need to view in zoom like in other videos is not available. Could you please make that setup.
It'll struggle if the pattern is not consistent. If there are enough examples of with and without, it will eventually re-write the formula to look for middle initials.
Nice, thanks! Mynda, can you tell me if I have one cell with dates and in another cell, I want the number of records that are older than 12 days. Thanks
Thanks for the video, I didn't realise this functionality had mande it into 365 Excel. It has been available for a while in Power Query. Could be a useful addition to the arsenal.
@@JJ_TheGreat I have only ever used it to get a clue as to how to write a function call in Power Query if I am unsure of how to achieve what I require. Totally agree that it is useful as it writes a formula that you can update to produce what you require, much better than Cntrl E!
So, my days as local Excel-guru are numbered. With an automatic row number, no less. ;-) I’ll gladly have this functionality in MS365 - can’t wait! :-)
Dear Mynda, Excel Online's flash fill, in the pt-br language, does not even offer a suggestion for the lines below, let alone the possibility of inserting the formula. It only works with the Ctrl+e keyset, and look there. 😁 I'm an MS365 Family Insider and I think it's mean of you to show this wonder that is only available to a privileged few. 😁 Do you have any tips on how I can access this wonderful news, being in Brazil? 🤗
Great video as usual. While MS Office in general is growing with more and more sophistication, it's someone like you Mynda, who is helping many like me, cope up and keep pace with these features easily and effectively! Thaks a lot and stay blessed!
i really like your excel videos! i learn a lot
Wonderful to hear 🙏

Indeed, it is part educator too 😊
Thanks for the light of knowledge!
My pleasure!
Great news Mynda!
Cheers, Segio!
Thanks 🙏
My pleasure!
Thanks for the video, Mynda! I hope this function might be released soon to every versions of Excel, including online version!
Me too 😊
Excellent Mynda!!!
Cheers, Chris!
Hi Mynda
Times ten is an underestimate 🙂, looking forward to the upgrade so it will work on my Excel, thanks for sharing.
Glad you liked it, Ivan 🙏

Thanks for the updates Mynda. Have a blessed day 🙏
Thank you! And you 😊

A great new feature. I hope they roll is out soon for Office 365 desktop App.
Thanks again for the valuable insights into Excel's power.
Me too 😊
Wow that is amazing
Exciting indeed 😊
1:53 Will it work for getting the middle names/initial - or not because some people don't have it?

This is even better than Column from Example, because it can do calculations, too!!!

@rorywilson9580 glad you think so 😊
So in a long list of links and headings that relate to media stories that mention a country, will it pull the countries out of each line?
Please post your question and sample Excel file on our forum where someone can help you further: www.myonlinetraininghub.com/excel-forum

😁washing day. Yep, AI is coming for us 😬
When is the update averrable for Mac excel?
It's only available in Excel Online right now. I don't have any info on when it'll be available in the desktop versions of Excel.
Excellent video Mynda, just a question, what if the example for names to split into name and surname has either more than 2 names or surnames...
You do know that her name is Mynda, not Linda...
@guillermoagz it'll struggle if the pattern is not consistent.
@@JJ_TheGreat yes, sorry the auto prediction catched me.
This is similar to Column From Example, which is in Power Query. But I can see how cool it is!
Yes, very similar and finally in Excel.
Amazing... 😊 Imagine, if Excel could predict the lotto results🤞
But seriously, this flash fill formula is incredible! 💯.
It sure is!
I've been working on a lottery wheeling program to do that exact thing 😊

😁you could try switching your locale in Office Online to US English.
@@MyOnlineTrainingHub I couldn't find a way to make the suggested change.

Where to show the list?
fill cells whith this formula ?
Not sure what you mean.

Thanks for your kind words, Vijay!
Is it possible that your end of month example didn't work because you were using dd/mm/yyyy format instead of mm/dd/yyyy?
It should be aware of my region settings, and it was able to extract the last day for the month, so I doubt it.
Thank you Google sheets, you made excel better.
😁
😮

Argh home users get all the fun.
I know, right 😊
Great!
