Like the clip at the end to remind us of the goal of enjoyment you get from the car after all the time and effort put into it, rather than the video emphasis being totally on the rebuild. You must have hit the roof once you realised you'd hit a rock....would like to see more of the dashboard when your out on a drive so I feel I'm actually in the car, a view of the outside of the car would be nice too. Plastic wheel liners not only help protect a car but usually have damping material on the back to reduce interior noise and vibration and I believe some companies produce them for classic cars.
well done pete on the hedgehog tip leave a hole in gravel board also put some water and cat food out, have 3 hogs in garden while watching latest ep20 car looking great love the series
Hi i like your work on the car and its coming along great!! I like the cortina gxl and we have a few here in Sweden also cant wait to see the finished product cheers Robert
OK! roofs finally done.!! Wow what a view , enjoyed the lake district scenes. We hardly ever see something like that here in Malta. By the way, here we call it a heat way when it touches 40c...Lol..
YES, I can hardly wait for this new episode. I am so happy. To celebrate Friday Evening, pairing a wonderful meal and my favorite RUclips British auto restorer, I will make a London Broiled Beef dinner classicly accompanied with nice semi-sweet- dry Bourdeau. What a way to kick off the Easter Weekend.
Hi Pete, hope your Easter is going well. Bramble is coming along great, roof skin went on a treat, when you were spot welding the rear of the roof I noticed an old steel GTX oil can in the background, that bought back memories of the 70's and 80's giving the old Mk3 an oil change with only the best for the Pinto!! Looking forward to the next episode. John (Norfolk)
Hi Pete, cant believe the roofs on already great progress coming along nice. Hope the rock didn't damage the underneath of car but like you have said before you don't wrap the cars in cotton wool . Cheers Kev.
Good call on the epoxy adhesive, that stuff is actually stronger than welding and will prevent any corrosion in the seam. Just waiting for you to get that epoxy primer! you know it makes sense!
No messing about from you pete , what I can only describe Only for the very very brave,, not many people would tackle such a job let alone the time frame your doing it in, Fantastic mate and well done, looking forward to the finished article.
Fantastic work Pete. Bramble has changed so much since I saw her at the NEC! I must say I watch them first on Patreon then come here at a later date and re-watch them. Keep up the good work!
That roof went on some slick! Real work of art what you did. Excellent job. The bonus ride through the Lake district was quite nice as well. Hope that rock didn't do much damage. Keep up the excellent work.
Well done mate. Very interesting seeing a roof being fitted. I drooped mine off at the bodyshop for paint this weekend, don't know how long it will be its an infill job for him. Hesketh Dave
Fantastic job on the roof Mr C. Fits like a glove. You're right about the Tigerseal got some on my hands once, it was there for a fortnight before I got it off. Lake District looks stunning but them roads are in a worse state than London's and that's saying something. Great the way you adress the camera, makes us really feel part of the restoration. Keep going at this rate and you'll be driving this car by Christmas. Brilliant ☺ 👍
Great video bro, good to see it has the hat on and even the bonus footage, the radio station I listen to featured 1971 for an hour this morning and had some great classic music in the lineup. All the best
Probably catalytic reaction. And 24 degrees is nothing !. Come to Australia mate ! :) Look me up :) AWESOME work Pete !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Like :)
Got in tonight after work , had tea (fishcakes and chips followed by a Cadbury's Roundy chocolate biscuit)washed up etc then thought "hope Pete c has put another video up" and there it is ! Really appreciate you doing these and sharing not only the work processes but also your thoughts . I know if l had your talents for car restoration , l would just want to get on with it and not faff around with cameras and commentary and editing and stuff . So thank you . I suspect purists will crib about that non standard interior light , but l say good on you Pete , it's your car to do with as you please . Y'know if it was mine l'd keep it that undercoat brown colour as the top coat . Chocolate brown like a big mark three shaped Easter egg ...ooooh yeeaahh !!! Good tip on the hedgehogs , if your garden fence is fitted with slotted posts and gravel boards , just raise one panel a couple of inches with blocks of wood so those 'hogs can get through . Put some dried mealworms (available from pet shops) and some water for them , but not milk (cows , goats , almond or any kind) as this upsets their stomachs . I know all his because my wife has looked after rescue hedgehogs for years . Kind of like Hedgehog city at our house ! One thing l cannot stress strongly enough though especially if anyone is (or knows ) a keen gardener , is please DO NOT PUT SLUG PELLETS DOWN to protect your plants ! These kill the slugs but as slugs are an important part of the hedgehogs diet , they eat the poisoned slugs and then die themselves . SO DON'T DO IT ! As someone has already mentioned in the comments , 'hogs are the natural way of reducing slugs in your garden . Wishing you a peaceful Easter Pete , weather forecast is good , so if you are going to be working on Bramble , stay cool and hydrated .

@@PeteCswampy that's great you beat the developers . Here where l live developers last year put nets on hedgerows surrounding land they were planning to build on , to prevent birds nesting . Although a year on , no building has started as yet , but due to local pressure , the developers have recently taken down the nets . Yes , Cadbury's roundys are good , dunking them even better . Agreed , podcasts are a great cure for insomnia . Up from where we are , in Matlock Bath , Derbyshire , there is a pond that 6 weeks ago was teeming with tadpoles , so hope for frogs yet !

i love these vids esp the first one when it was pulled from the brambles! im restoring a mk2 capri 2.0s myself so i know how much work is in restoring cars 😆
i really should watch the whole video before commenting, lol. and you are bang on about hedgehogs, i tried everything to keep slugs off my lettuces and stuff, my neighbour next door said put some food out to attract hedgehogs, then once they find your slugs stop and they will munch them to oblvion, he was right.
Your neighbour is spot on ! Gardeners who put slug pellets down to protect their plants successfully kill the slugs , but because the hedgehogs eat the poisoned slugs these kill the 'hogs as well , so please help the hedgehogs and DON'T PUT SLUG PELLETS DOWN !
@@peterbarker6249 i'm of the opinion that slug pellets should be banned, if you have pets you should never use them, and they devastate wildlife, petes tip about putting a "hog door" in your fence is good advice too, only reason i dont have one is our jack russell would be through it and in next doors pond(loves water) lol.
great vid roof looks good just catching up with your vids been way great to watch it just watched Ruby on hubnut great vid drone shots were great keep it up Pete c
Great work again Pete. Put the Tiger seal away in a non drying cupboard, and hopefully with a new nozzle it would last a few weeks. I'd like to know what spot welder you're using as i need to get one and you seem to be able to get continuous spot welds where the ones I've looked at in my price range are 3-4 welds a minute.
Hi Pete mate, hows you. Nice job as always. Won,t be long off having paint at this rate. Will be at kirkby stephens on saturday as theres a steam and classic fair on. then may be a run round the lakes.
Pete it’s dunk again can’t believe how well the roof went on loving the original look yr going for forgot to ask are u painting the car back original silver hope so m8 as ever great subject great cover great car keep it up fella dunk👍👍
24C ? it gets as cold asc that here in Winter. This last summer was hell in the workshop with outside temps over 40C you can imagine how it was welding here .I guess you wont need to spot weld the sides of the roof since you panel bonded it? . re the tiger seal. Put a longish woodscew in the end of the nozzle and then place it in the fridge. that seems to stop it curing down into the tube.

i think its amazing that the roof is just a skin, when did ford add the central support stiffener?, my mk5 est had one i clipped a bit off when i cut out two holes for sunroofs(one for front and one back), i know today you would not dream of chopping out your roof to fit a sunroof, but 1988 was last century.
Have you considered a pneumatic caulking gun for the Tigerseal? We used one for epoxy resin where I worked previously, made the job so much easier, and for less than £20 from Machine Mart, it's got to be worth a try. Nice job, by the way, looking forward to seeing the finished item.
Why not screw a UV filter on the end of your camera lens. It will do absolutely nothing to the picture, but it will stop the sparks and metal filings from destroying it. Low cost UV filters are also very cheap, almost disposable. In a pinch you can also polish the scratches out of your lens with a bit of Brasso and some elbow grease.
see great to see you in the club, the thign with patreon is it gives me that edge/boost when making the films, its why i was putting out a film every 10 days or so becuase i had the support of patreon. youtube gives you PITTANCE no where near enough to take all the time filming and editing THOUGH i would prob always put a film out each month regardless, its just to make it faster and more content, thats where patreon comes in, just gives you motivation and helps buying parts etc, great to see you onboard
