People believed Aristotle who declared the earth was the center of the universe for nearly 1900 years - until they found out he was wrong... but he wasn't that far off base unknowingly. The earth is the center of the universe, but for life - and not mass as Aristotle wrongfully supposed... I can't imagine leaving all of this behind, for the sheer emptiness of outer space.
