This is the song that made me a lifelong Pink Floyd fan in the summer of 1972. My cousin said man, you gotta hear this, it'll change your world forever. He wasn't kidding.
As a young man of 21 I saw them play for the 4th. time in S.F. in the winter of '70 (or maybe it was '71) and this "Echoes" became my most favorite piece of music! I had been a fav fan of their music since '67 with "Interstellar Overdrive" fav from the 1st. album. But now at age 71 this is still my fav piece and band and guitarist in Dave!
I heard it 25 years ago, from my neighbor.. Some years have passed and still I think that I've been born in the wrong era.. I'd give my kidney for listening that in LIVE..😢
It is said that David decided not to play echoes after the passing away of Wright. After listening to the musical conversation between them in the last minutes of this song, I knew why.
This version is truly inspired. Rick and Dave are on fire and the rest of the band seems delighted to he parted the magic. RiP Richard Wright (teaching the angels how to play)
I saw this live at the AH in 2005 and was blown away. I feel so lucky to remember how it made me feel 1st hand but to be able to relive that feeling through RUclips. Just phenomenal and perfect in every way. Reduces me to tears every time. ❤
Out of all the Live Wcho performances, This, I Repeat, THIS should be the Best One. I do like the thought " Why people have only 83k views on this Live video, when it shows the BEST ANGLES of Capture on THE WHOLE BAND
Echoes / Pink Floyd Overhead the albatross Hangs motionless upon the air And deep beneath the rolling waves In labyrinths of coral caves An echo of a distant time Comes willowing across the sand And everything is green and submarine And no one called us to the land And no one knows the where's or why's Something stirs and something tries Starts to climb toward the light Strangers passing in the street By chance two separate glances meet And I am you and what I see is me And do I take you by the hand And lead you through the land And help me understand The best I can And no one called us to the land And no one crosses there alive No one speaks and no one tries No one flies around the sun Almost everyday you fall Upon my waking eyes Inviting and inciting me To rise And through the window in the wall Come streaming in on sunlight wings A million bright ambassadors of morning And no one sings me lullabys And no one makes me close my eyes So I throw the windows wide And call to you across the sky
And the only argument you need on why there will never be Pink Floyd without David and Rick, it would be an insult to PF legacy... I'll be just happy to keep listening to Roger and David on their own... they earned their space. They owe us nothing.

Perhaps one of the best composition in world's music history...
This is my absolutely favorite version of this song. And this doesn't mean that the others are less perfect
The transition at 6:35 is better than the album version imo - buit every version of this song is "perfect" ha ha
This version is wonderful specially Gilmour's solo but for me the best is Live at Pompeii
This is the first PF song I ever heard. My brother Eric ( RIP ) turned me on to it. Thank you, Eric!

I saw them in Tampa, Too many moons ago. I think it was the Animals tour? It was in the early 70's?
Whenever I listen to this song I look for this specific video because you didn’t put ads every 5mins. Thanks

:( me siento frustrado.
I like dropping clean acid and listening to this in the woods.
There is something off with the drop? I'm not sure what it is.
From the first note. Audience knew what song it was😅
Hair stand on back of neck at 6.35 !

Why is the bass players hands and playing out of sync with everyone else as well as he own apparent ‘playing’??
