Let’s embark on a journey through time, as we venture into the illustrious tapestry of a late 19th-century Neo-baroque estate nestled in Spain's embrace. This eclectic mansion, a testament to opulence, spans two floors adorned with soaring ceilings and a graceful staircase that unites its splendor.
A masterpiece of rococo revival, its walls are adorned by Art Deco elegance through ornate tiles. Once the cherished haven of Legando and Donia Martinez, relics of their legacy linger in the form of ancient bank bills strewn within.
Yet, solitude now blankets this grandeur, frozen in silence since December 2013-the last expiration of food still left inside. Over the ensuing decade, neglect and nature have marred this once-vibrant Spanish abode, its allure awaiting resurrection for a mere half-million-dollar investment, a daunting prospect amidst decay's relentless advance.

The tins in the attic in the toy box were home made tin can phones. Each child got a can and you stretched it as far as it would go. You speak into it as the other child listens. The vibrations go through to the other end and you can actually hear what they say.

Was there an earthquake that cracked the walls in this house? There seems to be a lot of decay for only 10 years or maybe 15 years abandoned. All that beautiful tile makes me think of Portugal. That melted mirror is a first, never saw anything like that before. I think the cans you found in the attic were a game. They would have a hole in the bottom and each end of the string would be inserted into a can. One person would talk into a can and the other person who is as far away as the string would allow would put the can to their ear. The string was meant to transfer the voice vibration to the 2nd can. You made a very good decision to return to this place, thank you for the video. ❤

Hey Maureno, wonderful mansion, you could explore together with Remon somewhere in Spain. I especially loved the absolutely beautiful tiles with the elaborate decoration in a very pure art nouveau style. I was also surprised to see some beautiful furniture in some rooms of that grand mansion, which show very distinctive art nouveau features.
I am so very glad, you could master that tricky challenging situation with the police!

Las habitaciones laterales a la entrada principal, efectivamente eran recibidores para que los invitados esperaran a los dueños de la mansión. Una vez visité una mansión similar acá en mi país, con dos recibidores, pregunté la razón y me dijeron que antiguamente la costumbre era que las mujeres y hombres esperaran en distintos salones.
Por cierto la carta del baúl del año 1887, está dirigida a la doña Carolina Caamaño, creo que el otro apellido es "Moya".
La palabra "doña" en español es similar a señora o señorita. La carta la escribió la hermana de Carolina.

This ain't Art Deco... it's a bit earlier... between late classicism (empire) and Art Nouveau (Jugendstil)... Great Video as always... hopefully you haven't had too much trouble with the law...
I think the house is arts and crafts with art nouveau furniture. The woodwork around the doors even the wall cabinet in the dining room. The chunky wood of the staircase. Art nouveau furniture. Organic lines curves, and mirrors. Spanish tile-what they were famous for. I think the tile was added over the years. There were many styles.

I wonder who told you this mansion is Neo-Baroque. Are you talking about the facade not shown in the video? Neo-Baroque is a wildly exuberant, eclectic, meticulous style affiliated to Second Empire's (19th century). This mansion is too stylistically pared down to be really labelled that.
The tiling isn't Art Deco. It's not Rococo either as Rococo is more like a late stage of Baroque style (18th century). It's Art Nouveau (20th century). Art Nouveau emphasizes the aesthetics of curves, it's somewhat of a movement cousin to Rococo, but divorced from Baroque in spirit as it's a figurative style with modernity in mind. In comparison, Art Deco is more minimalist and reliant on rectilinear geometry.
I know, most of you will say "who cares". Well, I do since it's my main center of interest while watching urban exploration videos. I am just pointing that out to those who really look for more accurate description. I am not faulting you, as drawing distinctions between all these art movements is really difficult, sometimes.

The tile in the entry strikes me as spanish art Nuevo. Which is an earlier period than art deco. Art Nuevo is also defined by a sweeping curving staircase with usually a curved large landing. I have seen Japanese art Nuevo tiles which I love but these Spanish tiles are amazing ❤
