Driving, driving and driving... What an enormous, yet beautiful country Spain is.
After a 4-hour car journey, we arrive at our next destination. A wonderful authentic Spanish family's house, which shares its grounds with a small-scaled gold- and silverfactory, that ones turned in and out of production here every day. Why was the gold & silver family business never sold, demolished or given a new purpose? And what happened to the boss of the factory, who lived on the same site?
Today, we take you with us, and go on a quest among the remains of the precious metals.

Those machines that look like pistons with a cam shaft are rock crushers designed for crushing rocks containing ore. In the other building, there were crucibles and kilns for smelting the ores that were extracted from the rock matrix. The chemicals are also for testing and extracting ores that were not considered free-mil. Sometimes the gold or silver or whatever they were after would fall free from the crushed rock...which is considered free-mil (falling free from the rock). Other times, the ore had to be leached out of the rock matrix using acids. In any case, they were processing ore from crushed rock. There very well could be gold on that location. Remember the metal cannister on the bench in the first shed? The label on it said "oro fino". Translated: fine gold

All the gold paint on the furniture is a gilding process using real gold. The furniture is really worth a lot and their home was exquisite! The antiques and furnishings are so beautiful. Love this home and its sad when homes like this are not cared for. Some families die out and the last members don't have relatives I guess.

Now that these clowns have let people know where this is thieves likely will. Holding a camera does now give them the right to "explore" other people's property.

Ikr I mean having human nature say to someone, how about I return with the cover of darkness to gain some valuable paintings allowed to sit and rot away.
I don't think anyone will miss them but the owner and he is dead.
Like I said human nature or just for someone to tell someone else and they go do it.
I mean if you live there it would be easy to know where these places are I would think and no real security with covid 19 especially.
That is if people worry more about less valuable things in their currently occupied homes:)

@@andrewbillingsley9377 Well it kinda does give them the right if they take nothing and document it only never revealing to anyone but possibly other explorers they share locations with.
The jury may still be out on whether letting this kind of information should be so readily known by the general public. Cats out of the bag.
It's journalism until these guys violate those ethical standards.
People can find out in other ways about these places and why they are ransacked already when these explorers go film many times.
You could research real estate, not on the market to find out the status of that location for ownership and when it was acquired giving a piece of great information towards finding these locations.
You can respond with it being illegal for trespassing.
So is being kicked out of a bar forever and you return again one day.
If the whole intent is to only inform, they can not be held responsible for what others might do with that information provided they don't supply location directly to anyone, not in the circle.

GORGEOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! That furniture in the 'living room' is beautiful. Looks like someone had come in and started packing up some stuff. Look at that mirror behind the buffet in the dining room. WOW!!! Just when I think one of your videos was the best one yet - you do another. The factory was amazing. There was some major production going on.

The machines here were driven by a process called line shaft drive. In the old days the line shafts could be driven by a waterwheel or similar. Later it was changed to run off a motor. All the machines have a big belt going into the floor, which all attach to a rod or "line shaft" that is being turned by the power source. I doubt that this is gold laying all over the place, most likely bronze/ brass which can have a similar color. No one would leave gold laying around like that. For example jewelers use special catch trays under their work benches wial they are cutting tiny tiny pieces of gold by hand, just to catch the tiny gold dust that would otherwise fall on the floor.

Im a jeweller, and i can say this last part is correct, we even bag up sand paper, cleaning cloths, anything that has come in contact with preciouc metals, we even have a special wast trap in the sink, so when we wash ower hands, the trap catches any heavy materials, like Burn Heretic said, NO ONE, would leave gold laying around like that, i would say that the place produced sintered metals powders, or simple metal powders for colour pigment in paints or so on, metal powders can be used for alot of things, they are useing the machines driven by line shaft drive to brake down large pieces of brass/copper/alu, then to put them in the barrle shaped tumbling mills, to brake it down futher into the powder, also, in the house at the start, there is that little work room, this actually looks verry simmlar to a jewelers workbench, with some of the tools laying around i am verry famillier with, but seems they did alot more than just jewllery, maybe started out making jewellery, then moved on to mass production of powderd metals so on, really LOVED this vid, was great to imagin what it was like back in its days, amazing, thank you ever so much for the time, i really appreciate you.

Yeah guys one of your best finds yet. What a treat being able to explore these abandoned places all over the world. I watch a lot of these kinds of videos and yours are the best finds of all. I really really respect the fact that you two don’t pillage and plunder these places. In fact I’ve noticed you take extreme care to make sure none of the vandalism or theft is ever done by you. Kudo’s gentlemen that shows a great deal of restraint and integrity. You two are good kids, your mothers must be proud. In many places property that is left abandoned can be claimed legally through the court system and a process of Liens. You should look into it. You could eaisly make a good living by obtaining much of the stuff you explore which is otherwise being wasted. It would help get you paid for doing what you love. And at the same time give some love to items that really need it. Keep up the great work!

It's unfair!!!!!

I would sure love to hear if you ever went back to film the other house... Or if you've found out any information about the people who owned this fortune?? They were so blessed, for it to just be left to ruin!! PLEASE do another story. Please go back and revisit and give us an update??? Yeah, the Cartier lighter was a nice find, very expensive, and the ornately carved furniture with the red leather, you're right, highly stylized Spanish look. I liked how in that one room, I think it was the master bedroom, all the furniture including the bed, matched. That same floral design again. I imagine he did have a fine watch, out of that catalog. They definitely had a lot of money. I hope Spain preserves furniture and stuff like this because it is part of their heritage. There were also many famous Spanish wine producers, also in Portugal.

The scale that you found in the factory would work. Remember the platform at the bottom of the scale on the floor? You place whatever you want to weigh on that platform. Then without putting any weight on the platform, start moving the weights that are on the bar that runs horizontal to the floor, on the top of the scale. When the bar is level and doesn't move anymore, read the weight that is engraved into the bar that the weights are on. The indicator on the scale will point to the weight of the object you are weighing. You can follow this link to some videos that show what I was trying to explain if you didn't understand. ruclips.net/user/results?search_query=How+to+use+a+weighted+scale

I agree. I would like to know the story. Why would so much just be left behind to ruin. Whoever this belongs to just doesn't have any idea what being without feels like. Some people take so much for granted. Even if someone is too old or can't keep it up, then, greed and scared to give to someone else is terrible also. These places that are left behind deteriorating to ruin, seems so awful and is.

They all died from mesothelioma due to the pollutant and deadly metallic powder dust everywhere, inadequate safety equipment or air cleaners and a greedy owner who didn't care a hoot about his staff. The owner, his family and most of his workers are probably all dead from mesothelioma and I hope the locals are suing the estate or its insurance suppliers..

    • @brianb9278
      @brianb9278 3 года назад +1

@@MrLemaire1 Actually, the bigger issue would be that it was a factory that produced very fine metallic dust with chemical additives. The young lads showed all that dust on everything. This suggests that all the land and buildings are dangerously polluted and are not now safe to live in. Possibly the local Council has the property for sale with a restoration and de-pollution order. Possibly the last owners died of mesothelioma. There was huge evidence of dangerous pollution of the factory and all the industrial clothing and safety goggles, respirators and helmets were totally coated inside and out with pollutant dust. I would be MORE surprised if the staff that once worked there are even still alive as the conditions show a huge potential to have a lung disease like mesothelioma. The last owner must have had a business permit with public liability and staff insurances, in which case there is a high probability there are hundreds of damages claims against that business estate that need clearing first.

Really enjoying the videos, thank you! Although I must say that i do find them so sad at times. Makes me think of the abundance of life that was once there. Seeing so much left behind leads me to think that that sole survivor had past on and there was no one left to pass these memories on to. Most people work so hard to gain such things and in the end it means nothing when there is no one to give it to. Sorry for being so morbid, lol, but this is what the video made me think of. 🤷‍♀️
