I still own my release month PS3 copy and the GOTY edition with Undead Nightmare on 360 but my PS3s and XB1S are all dead so I'm emulating it. It's been years since I've done a full playthrough of it.
RDR1's world doesn't get enough love. It's not as pretty as 2's but it nails that lonesome gunslinger vibe of old Cowboy movies perfectly. It's a meditative experience riding through the areas of RDR1 while seeing the beautiful skies. Ut's also much more eerie feeling than RDR2.

I spent hundreds of hours on the PS2 game Steambot Chronicles. While the game doesn't have anywhere near the same level of branching narratives like Skyrim, Fallout, or most of the games on this list, you could still do a lot of things and never have the exact same play through. For one, you had this little "personality test" at the start of every game, which determined things like how much money you could earn and how you would react in some scenes of the campaign. Then you had a host of options to choose from during many interactions, from playing the amnesiac as a nutjob who salutes everybody he meets to demanding money from everyone who asks you for a ride during missions. It got to the point that I had so many saves on a single memory card, with dozens of different sessions, that I ultimately had delete everything just to well and truly start fresh (and not eat up as much memory with the 40-50 different saves, lol)

@bernardoheusi6146 Origins was the best game, but that doesn't make DAI a bad game at all. Origins wasn't nearly as big as Inquisition ended up being, and there's honestly a lot more content.

@@thereallaw244 Though, some might say that a good chunk of side-quests isn't even particularly necessary to the overall plot of the game. Like the Hinterlands, there's an insane amount of quests in that area that it almost becomes a chore to complete them. I hope that Dragon Age: Dreadwolf brings back the heavy old-school RPG narratives and array of dialogue responses that Origins has while retaining the rich atmosphere of Inquisition's maps and cutscenes. I also hope they at least make the tactics more specific like Origins.

I would definitely add Red Dead Redemption 2. You can just get so lost in how beautiful that game is. Riding your horse slowly along the prairie, up some hill to look out at the vastness ahead of you. Or ending up in a cave you never knew was there before. Also, Fallout 4 is easy to get lost in. There are so many buildings to explore!

I'm so glad you mentioned Vermintide in this clip. That game does not get enough recognition. I played it for hundreads of hours and never got bored even if it might be repetitive for some people doing the same maps over and over, yet is very challenging on legendary/cataclysm difficulty.

@@Th33anomaly It's relevant because Nintendo is absolutely niche. It's its own ecosystem of games, completely separated from all others.
PlayStation, Xbox and PC - while 3 different platforms - are same ecosystem. Like North Atlantic civilization. Let's say Hollywood.
