  • Good evening, my absolutely awesome friends and followers. I hope you are all well. So this is a quick update just to inform you fantastic folk of our current situation to date. I'm keeping it as short as possible as I appreciate and value your time. I will continue to update you in the future, but only with events of any relevance and importance. Thanks again massively for your continued support. It means the world.

The older I get the more I realise there are some utterly miserable and bitter people out there. And they're riled by positive proactive folk like yourself. They deserve to be ignored. And you and your lovely wife deserve every good fortune. Way back in the day, our society was built by grafters and resilient folk like yourself. When the chips are down, that's when you see people's true worth, and you're a survivor mate.

You posting that has actually helped me, I thought it was just me! I just sometimes notice random people giving me filthy looks, and actually sometimes just tut as they pass me in the street. I live in London and there are a lot of bitter horrible people here.

I just found your channel. I’ve been homeless dozens of times through landlords troubles transfer( the first arrested and charged for drug offences and suspected her tenants dobbing 15:09 her in, so evicted the lot of us, the last sa- ing me, then verbally abusing me when I told him where to go, and a myriad in between committing financial abuse or selling up). I’ve been living off grid on my own land for 6 years now the council want me to tear down my home( converted farm barn) rendering it derelict, so my neighbours can enjoy the view of an eyesore and dangerous, make myself homeless yet again. I do not have a job or claim benefits, I live off the land and my produce. N ever mind me supplying the local timber yard and other companies when I was working ( laid off because my 3 year contract expired) Never lose hope my friend, this experience changes you, but in a good way. It makes you more resilient, self reliant, resourceful. The mental health is just a blip in the journey but you will recover and pull through. Safe travels pal!

Mate me and my Mrs were homeless 20 years ago after our landlord put our house up for sale. We had our daughter aged 2 and 2 elderly dogs and it was an utter nightmare. Fortunately we were offered a house at the last minute however the stress we were under was immense. I have total empathy for you both and all I can say is ignore the trolls. Just worry about you and your mrs and ignore the rest. I’m going to follow your story so good luck for the future.

Maybe some pallets. Height may be an issue. Twice what you need per square meter. Donor pallets to fill it in so no gaps. A form of floor boards might help with cold if this goes on. Or do maybe buy 40mm beams lower profile. Perhaps make it so you can pack it up take it away to move if need be sections of a managable size

I was pretty much living in my car and twice a week I was getting a travel lodge to clean up and get a proper nights sleep. I ended up in massive trouble at work cos I was starting to crack up. It took me a while but I eventually got myself back on my feet and I’m doing ok now. I hope u get everything sorted out soon, keep your chin up and don’t let it get to u like I did. As a chef, I peeled veg with very sharp knives. As an old codger now, I use a good old Lancashire peeler and scissors. I like my fingers. I've had them a long time, and I'm attached to them. Boom, Tish!!! For your stew, add sausages for extra bulk, texture, and flavour. Boil them first if they're fatty and throw away the water, then add to your stew. Otherwise, it'll become "claggy" as it cools. Add some porridge, yes, really, and only a little amount of gravy granules. Chopped carrot, onion, and celery are a must-have, as is a bay leaf. 👍

Shame on that person or persons who can sleep at night knowing they might have made your life that little bit harder. I know a negative comment can play on a person's mind I just hope you don't let that idiot get to you too much. On a more positive note, the majority of people are willing to help, this is the first video I have seen of yours and will be subscribing straight after finishing this message. I hope you and you missus can get back into suitable accommodation in the near future. Good luck

Steve I hope you and your partner are in the highest band on the housing list, because she suffers with depression and this cannot be ignored! I’m here if you need any support😊 And excuse me did I hear you say that someone had a pop at you for pay £600 rent on a campsite and for having alcohol! Oh my days, have people nothing better else to do than judge people who are already down on their luck 😢

I’d take a good quality canvas tent over a caravan any day. You’ve got a great setup.

I'm homeless iv been living in a polomy locomotive 3 with a small winnerwell stove since last week in May and I'm about to upgrade for winter to a 4m kokoon bell tent with a large woodman stove ..should be comfortable enough for me and my cat. Can't stand negative people and negative comments its hard enough to stay positive and motivated. Council told me they can't help with my situation and I refuse to live in a hostel with drug addicts and also iv got my cat to consider. so looks like I'm here for a while. Keep keeping on, wish you well. Upwards and onwards.

I want to learn bushcraft because any of us can end up homeless. I want to be able to survive. I used to really scared of being homeless, so much so i twould affect my mental wellbeing, but it is not has bad as I thought it could be if you have a lot of skill, equipment and survival knowledge. I love camping and learning how to survive. I like the simple life. I have a house and am so sick of the expensive maintenance and the feeling of being stuck in one place all the time.

When you have bushcraft, you have a home anywhere.........unless like mine your Mrs has mental health issues! Then you need a house! 😄

Steve, I'm a retired locomotive fitter and the first thing I was taught about oxy acetylene gas welding and cutting is never, never, never use grease to fit gas fittings. The reason being is it may cause an explosion. The other thing you need to know is that oxygen fittings are always right-handed threads and all other threads of acetylene fittings (lpg, propane, etc) are always left-handed threads. You were right to just nip up the fitting with a spanner. Firm but not over tight. You can check for gas leaks by using a paint brush to 'paint' the fittings with soapy water. You will see bubbles if there is a leak. Never use a match unless you want to be with your ancestors sooner than later. Cheers from Australia.

    • @shanesigley5625
      @shanesigley5625 6 месяцев назад

Forgot to mention that you can use soapy water as a lubricant to force gas hoses on to gas fittings. Never use grease.

Another thing I forgot to mention is you may notice that the gas fitting nuts on the cooker you are using have a groove machined into the middle of the width of the nut. That is the symbol for a left-hand thread. Oxygen fitting are plain and don't have that groove and are right-handed threaded.

We never had a cutting board when I was growing up, mum chopped veg like her mum did by holding it and using her thumb behind it. I did too till I married and we got a chopping board as a wedding pressy. I still do it that way when camping. You use you hand to sort of close the knife down into the veg and can stop before you get all the way through.
Works for spuds and root veg though you do need something to lean against for swedes and other big veg so a plate is handy then .

That's how I usually do it, haha. This blade is 3mm thick, so you can't slice right through like you can with a flat grind. Thank for stopping by. Take care.
