Was in your situation 16 years ago. I opted to not go back to the fancy house and lifestyle. Bought woods here on the US, North Carolina. I now have a small 12 by 16 cabin. Loving my minimal off grid life. Keep it in perspective. You’re not homeless. You’re houseless and living an alternative lifestyle.
I once needed to leave my living situation in a hurry early one morning. I called friends as I was without funds for about a week. I was surprised by who ignored me. I was also surprised by the amazing people who helped immediately. Within a week I got my paycheck and could move into another small apartment I had just applied for. Amazing friends showed up to help. Again, I was shocked at who did NOT care a bit after all I had done for them. The ones who helped owed me nothing and helped as they are good hearted. After that my lifestyle changed to minimalist. My friends list was greatly reduced. And who I allow myself to be close to also changed. And who I give a lot to changed as well. Certainly not those who say they love me, take all I have to give and then dump me. I know God will get you through this. Thanks for your videos! God bless!
Wow! The resemblance between our stories is remarkable! I'm glad you got back on your feet fast. I also totally understand your decision when it comes to helping those who miss led you. Take care.
Myself and my family went through a similar thing when we were homeless they told us if we separated they would help me and the children we did what they wanted and they left us high and dry, we made a conscious decision to move to where we are now in wales it was the best move we ever made. I really hope you both stay safe and you are able to get the help you both deserve ❤

G'day to you guys, new subscriber here I'm enjoying your channel. My hubby and I with our 2 young sons plus dog were priced out of the rental market 8 years ago cut a long story short it lead us on the journey of renting some land living off grid, vege gardens, we buy a sheep here and there home kill our meat. My husband started brush cutting on rural properties to support us and has been doing that for 5 years. We still live in our caravans on a gorgeous piece of land we love the life. But we are saving up to buy our own land. Any way what you are doing bought back many memories of where we were. All the best to you both on your journey. ❤
Your living status sounds absolutely amazing! I would love nothing more! Being self-reliant and proving for ourselves who know what the future may bring! I hope you get your dream land soon. Thanks for the kind comment take care.

But I find food is a lovely way to find comfort and warmth and the ability to share it with others more so warming. I plan on doing couscous with chicken tonight and veggies. Prayers to you and Missus as well as others going through this trying times.

This is going to be a great story guys . This reading you gave us better than any news story . Showing the real heart of community I remember seeing real human behavior at the top of the hill in minus 15 degrees . People think it isn't there , but it is there , it's only in the worst situation when it appears and that is what I think will be enjoyable to watch. Well done on the calm you got into the start of this . I read somewhere that putting the solar panels vertical standing got a better return. It's something you could test out while you are there . Have you had to re pitch the tent since first pitch I imagine the canvas stretched out. Best of luck today
Thank you for stopping by buddy, your support is very appreciated at this time. I will have to try the solar hack, and I will have to re pitch the tent at some point. It's very stoney in places 😄 🤣
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors don't be worried about replying to me ste.. You have enough to do. I'll just throw some ideas out there and sure if it helps well thats me helping in a way i can help. SEnding you some good karma today
Hey Steve, nice to see the wife on channel, hope you’re both ok, fingers crossed the caravan arrives, there certainly some amazing people in the world, stay strong chap, and remember what I said, anything you need just shout 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Hey Mark it took some sneaky shots 😄 She is very self conscious! God knows why? Thanks for dropping by buddy and thanks again for the support. Take it easy fella.
Just subbed watch your video today, stay strong, had to give up my job in January to look after my mum with double dementia. Hardest time ever but I believe in karma, your a nice fellow and your misses.
This is great news! And they say it’s a terrible world … don’t get me wrong it is. But kindness and the good rise up against the odds… I hope things continue to improve for you both and the dogs! Hang on in there it’s going to be ok
Hi fond 2 of yous yesterday god luck with everything lot more of us will end up in this way housles not homeless lot of people this year are living on my caravan site thank ever nowing all our love to both of yous ❤
Was homeless about 15 years ago, with children. Had been privately renting through estate agents who went bust and unknown to me had not been passing on my rent for about three months prior. Owners had to sell the house. We were housed by our local council. Given temporary accommodation before being offered a permanent home. Was very stressful but it seems the situation for homelessness is far worse now. Good luck. Hopefully in the long run you’ll find yourself in a better position than before.
Hi I would not like to be in this situation. My father was homeless down in London for many years and had travelled down from Scotland and the reasons being is not important now.. As you are aware what is important is both of you being positive and sticking as a team. I could only imagine the stress your self and your lovely wife will be under. Learning all the camping, prepping, homely and survival skills do work. Positive thinking can create a feedback loop that amplifies positive energy. Power to both of you Regards Brian
If you can find hardwood I have the Woodlander double view large and it'll burn all night using Ash firewood. I layer it couple split pieces in the bottom smaller rounds and then 1 or 2 larger rounds. The only problem I have with hardwood is it doesn't leave coals which is a good thing for cleaning a bad thing when you Wake-up and can't just throw a couple more pieces of wood in. I also put fire brick below it and will put a couple mason blocks behind it or rocks so they retain the heat.
Heart braking to see it's the same here in Ireland people famies on housing list up to 15 years then you people coming ftom other country's getting housed first now I would love to see everybody housed but Ireland is a small country we can't cope as a country
chucked you some 'coffees' dude. be safe. I have to say my faith has got me through the toughest of times. I also have a shedload of outdoor gear - a lot of which gets not a lot of use. if there's something you need - try me and if I have it I'll toss it your way.
So glad to see all of your friends and community coming together to help you mate. Once again, a testament to yours and your lady's character, the good karma you put out into the universe and what you mean to those whose lives you've touched ❤️👊. And that is great news on the caravan🙌🙌. I believe us hosers over here in Canada call them a camper ☺️. I admit that if I I could totally do tent life indefinitely, but I would go all out and get the Cabela’s Ultimate Alaknak tent. It is a dual stove jack hunt camp-style shelter and measures 4 metres wide by almost 9 metres long. They also have an available vestibule for it which adds another almost 2 metres of length to the entryway. I look forward to seeing your upgrade to the caravan and it is great to know you will have an improved shelter for you and your lady ❤️🙌.
Thank you Ste. I have watched the tent video! That thing is huge! What a shelter! The caravan will definitely be a better solution in the long run for the Mrs health issues. I still can't believe it's coming!
Your channel popped up on my feed, so sorry to hear about the situation you’re both in. All the best for the coming weeks, to you and your lovely lady xx
as a result of corona my firm went belly up, and we've been living in a tent for 1.5 year. now we have a roof over our head again, but odly i still mis my tent sometimes........stay strong and healthy!!!!
You need a doormat :) Sticks and rope and tyvek (look for archive quality as it can be cheaper buying it that way. Otherwise look for scraps from construction. ) Another option is explained on this video....@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors
Glad to see you both smiling, and loving the humour you both are showing. As this is the second comment I've left so I hope you both see the humour that is intended by it.... Ste, putting the milk in first 😱 I hope your good lady knows that is fair grounds for divorce🤷 Happy to hear that things are already starting to improve, I'm currently watching your story on the TV account. A caravan is a better place for you both and the dogs. So I hope it does turn up for you 🤞 The bidding process can be a rough ride at times, keep on at them to get into band one as that is the fastest band to get rehousing in. I wish I was in a position to offer more help, I see you are a proud person and respect that, but don't feel ashamed to accept the help of your fan's you have given so much of your time to create an amazing channel and we just want to see you both in a better place than the situation you have found yourselves in. The banter between you guys is amazing. And again, I hope you didn't find my comment on how you made your brew offensive, but it is not the British way🤷🤣🤦
😄 I'm taking the advice onboard that milk does not go in first haha 😅 that is honestly how I have always done it! Thank you for your advice regarding housing and bidding. we have good news, which we will share soon. Thank you for your amazing support. We appreciate you. Take care.
Hey buddy, I just found your channel. Just wanna say how sorry I am you are in this position but you and your Mrs are clearly strong enuff to get through it. Congratulations on the caravan upgrade. Plenty of good people left out here. Chin up pal 💪
I tell you something buddy you are Awsome so glad you are both ok you are so inspiring buddy and I meat it keep up with you positive thoughts you will get there buddy take care the both of you 👍
Hi ste 👊 the heaters you looked at ,, the cheaper white one ( which i have ) has a safety cut off switch located at the base , so wont fall over alight !! Also have you sat on your keys at all !! Do me a favour lock your car , wait a minute then hold down the unlock button on the remote ,, the windows should all drop down !! Next hold the lock button down and the windows should automatically close 🤞hope this might solve the puzzle 🤔🍻💪🇬🇧🫶👌
Hey Martin, my awesome man. Thanks for the tip. It does have power windows on central locking, but the key is kept on the side, so I can only put it down to the fob. Thanks for the shout on the heater, m8. Chat soon.
Ste brother that is pukka news what a diamond to gift you a caravan 💪 there is some amazing people in this world .. I’m happy for you bro… I’ve used that fabsil gold it’s good stuff it’ll do the job I sprayed it on and smeared it over 💪👍
Not sure how that portable oil-filled radiator heater would perform in a canvas tent, but in a bedroom-sized room It'll typically run you out of there. I recently picked up a -25F degree sleeping bag for 100 bucks. I advise everyone to get a good bag as one of the first things, may come in very handy.
Give it to a nonprofit and have them fix it. You know what I mean like here we got what we call Goodwill in the United States and that’s a store you can go to this got a lot of donated items housewares clothing just literally anything. Donated to them let them know what’s wrong with it. They can fix it and then they can sell it or give it away. If the USB ports do work, charge it up and give it to another person so they can use it to charge their devices
The country is at a boiling point brother, unfortunately we have all been prioritised 2nd to others and hopefully will change soon .take care, brother .Lee
I totally agree with you, Lee. The native people are being treated like existing broadband customers when all the new arrivals get the privileges. This is what it feels like anyway.
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors we are all in the same boat 🚢 mate no worries. Those with bricks and tiles over their heads are in the same boat aswell. Salary now is not going anywhere at all
They are even quicker if a few of them get together with caravans and park up on council land they send them all out when they do a welfare check 😂. Maybe a plan b
Do campsite not have a comunal freezer everyone shares? You could buy cool blocks (blue things) and freeze them in there save on ice. Mostly a us thing i think but might be worth asking.
Don't know if you know this bud but near the campsite you are in is a big hardware shop , you can get fabseal gas bottles etc there. Hope this was useful pal
Hey ste Hope you’re both well or you are the best you can be. I have an electric cool box you can have if you want it. I’m up in glossop every other weekend so I don’t think it’s far from you I can drop it off. Let me know m8 👍👍👍💯
Thank you very much for your kind offer you are very generous. We have just been gifted an electric fridge, so I think we are ok for now. We really do appreciate your kind support. Thank you. Take care.
Your welcome and good luck, I’ve got a garage full of useful stuff, if you can’t get something or need something don’t hesitate and drop me a message m8 👍
I think that with more people being forced to live in their vehicles, or even those who choose to, there needs to be more instruction as to basic, simple equipment like solar panels and battery storage for the novice. I watched you put up your solar and mess with what looked like a converter, but I know that if I were trying to figure out this stuff I would be lost. Some who know how to use all this equipment and which equipment to buy and how to hook it up assume everyone is just as able to figure it out. But even though I have no plans to become a car dweller, I sympathize with those who are taking way too long to have some conveniences simply because they don't have the SIMPLE information and don't know who to ask. Thank you.
Have a look at some fishing lacks as some you can join and you can stay there as long as you want on some of them and like the one I am in is 150 pounds a year and you can stay on 2 of the lacks for the year so if money get tight have a look at fishing lacks clubs the ones you can nite fish

I didn't want to exploit my awesome crowd, but everyone is asking about a donation app, haha. I don't want to be rude and offend those wanting to help, so I will make one up. Thanks, buddy. I appreciate it.
As angering as it is mate try not to mention the current situation on the channel. I lost mine through doing it in 2019 just before the cough and sneeze. For talking about such things. Was only 7.7k subs but it killed my enthusiasm for posting and running a channel. It's especially important now not to mention anything political as they're REALLY clamping down on it in a big way. Just takes a couple of snowflakes to report a video now. Anyway just gonna watch the rest of the video. I'll message you on Instagram during the daytime. 👍
Makes absolute sense, yep, I get ya bud. Thanks for the heads up. I'm gutted for you regarding the channel m8. I lost my first one at 5k, guts you! Thanks again.

I wish i could help, but i am in a very similar situation. you have my thoughts, in lew of any practical help. and the actual stat for migration for the uk is 685k, its almost as if people are fleeing from countries that are at war, or in famine, or under some kind of dictatorship; and need to be some where where d eath is not so prevelant. but i do admit thats a lot of effing people and paper work.
You need to get in touch with the likes of jackery tell them your story see if they will send you one of their power bank things for some reviews . Goes for any equipment you need . Don’t ask don’t get .good luck

@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors thanks mate, best of luck with your situation, i know its not the same but I’ve been broke and on the streets as a kid and have learned a lot from it. I feel this is a great teaching opportunity for you ste, for example, the multi-factor convenience of one pot/pan meals and the importance of diet, physical fitness and hygiene in this kind of situation, for those reading who are in a homeless situation a gym membership is invaluable, it will give you routine and somewhere to be to keep you out of trouble, youll be able to maintain/improve your physical fitness and mental health, arguably most importantly, it will give you a place to shower to keep yourself clean and presentable. Important tools that people tend to overlook are a reliable can opener and a belt because chances are youll lose weight I feel like the writings been on the wall for the last three years, as far as my and other peoples housed status goes, So i basically became an extreme minimalist and can pick up and go at the drop of a hat, incidentally wherever i lay my hat is my home and it is a very comfortable transition for me now. More things are mind over matter than people would like to believe, having a good attitude can sometimes be the difference between success and failure, ste you seemingly have kept a good attitude and outlook which will help you immensely in addition to being a very likeable and competent bloke, so i am not worried about you or your situation in the least, as i know you guys will be just fine.

Just discovered your channel, I’m so sorry about your situation. I’ve been there when I was in my early 20’s and left my ex. My mum had bought a house to be fully renovated so it was a shell with no running water. Best of luck today
Thank you for stopping by buddy, your support is very appreciated at this time. I will have to try the solar hack, and I will have to re pitch the tent at some point. It's very stoney in places 😄 🤣

Absolutely 💯 hope you are well buddy.

This is great news! And they say it’s a terrible world … don’t get me wrong it is. But kindness and the good rise up against the odds… I hope things continue to improve for you both and the dogs! Hang on in there it’s going to be ok
Thank you very much for your positive comment. We will be elated when we can have our dogs back. Take care.

Hi fond 2 of yous yesterday god luck with everything lot more of us will end up in this way housles not homeless lot of people this year are living on my caravan site thank ever nowing all our love to both of yous ❤
It's great that you put them up. At least they have a place to go. Thank you for your kind words.
I'm glad you got sorted. Thanks for the kind comment.
Power to both of you
Regards
Brian
Awesome comment, Brian. Thanks for your time, and you are doing great with your channel, buddy. Have a great weekend.
@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors Also thank you for your comment.

Indeed.
It's devastating to see all over the world, too. It's spreading like wildfire.
Couldn’t agree more.if you say what everyone thinking.it’s racism.can’t is it getting any better sladly. 👍❤️
I am from Alabama in the USA. The homeless problems all over the US has doubled. And no one seems to want to help Or they don't know how.
No one seems to want to take charge, it seems, and those responsible have long fled the scene.
chucked you some 'coffees' dude. be safe. I have to say my faith has got me through the toughest of times. I also have a shedload of outdoor gear - a lot of which gets not a lot of use. if there's something you need - try me and if I have it I'll toss it your way.
Thank you very much, sir. we really appreciate that! You are a true gent.

We are looking forward to it. Thanks bud.
You are officially like me and can be a thorn in their side. You have become a gypsy 😂
Got something in front of the tent entrance. That will turn into a bog when the rainy times start. Trust me, I've been there.
We wanted to put a tarp over the door, but it's classed as an extension and cost extra.
You need a doormat :)
Sticks and rope and tyvek (look for archive quality as it can be cheaper buying it that way. Otherwise look for scraps from construction. ) Another option is explained on this video....@@BushcraftWithSteOutdoors

Happy to hear that things are already starting to improve, I'm currently watching your story on the TV account. A caravan is a better place for you both and the dogs. So I hope it does turn up for you 🤞
The bidding process can be a rough ride at times, keep on at them to get into band one as that is the fastest band to get rehousing in. I wish I was in a position to offer more help, I see you are a proud person and respect that, but don't feel ashamed to accept the help of your fan's you have given so much of your time to create an amazing channel and we just want to see you both in a better place than the situation you have found yourselves in.
Chat soon.
Does your work staffroom have a freezer? If possible, can you freeze a bottle with cordial or whatever and use that for your cooler?

Been there to. But with our a cook stove ,or even power.

Toilet and shower work well too.
❤❤❤

Thank you.
Thank you 😊 it pays to learn a little bit for the "just in case scenario 😉 we never thought we would need it, but hey ho! Take care.
Have a look at some fishing lacks as some you can join and you can stay there as long as you want on some of them and like the one I am in is 150 pounds a year and you can stay on 2 of the lacks for the year so if money get tight have a look at fishing lacks clubs the ones you can nite fish

Important tools that people tend to overlook are a reliable can opener and a belt because chances are youll lose weight
