By adding insulated plasterboard direct to the walls you are removing the breathability factor and this means the moisture cannot escape through the walls like it used to. The owners need to install extractor fans or similar around the house otherwise they will have big problems further down the line.

Don’t forget to tell the homeowner they will need to fit a vent on that old fireplace opening or you could be increasing the risk of damp/mould onto that wall.

Yes, it's possible, but if you want to stop that, just stick them with expanding foam and prop them up until the foam drys.

It looks like you covered a ventilation brick with the first board. Was that closed off on the outside?

was this property rendered on the outside or exposed brick. mine is exposed brick bit people have told me i need to batten first because of this

If the wall is damp or its a solid wall no cavity then yea batton it out.

The only time i would Batten it out is to level the wall or if the wall is damp.

Damp no, condensation and mold on walls yes.
