Not that it would have mattered that much but the 340i driver should have the computer take care of the shifting; it looked like he was short shifting with the paddles
Just a tip for roll racing, it seems like the car cut off the power during the second race because you hit "red line" and did not shift at the right time. It does this as a safety feature to save your engine from going ka-boom. Next time, have the car in sports + and manual mode. Select the proper gear for the speed you want to roll race in. For example, 40 mph 2nd gear or 60 mph 3rd gear. Now, after the 3 honks, floor on the gas and while keeping your foot down, quickly flip the gear selector back to drive and instantly flip it back to sports. This will make the car shift on its own in sports + and almost perfect shift every single time! Good luck and be safe! both amazing cars! 2021 M340i owner here :)
Instead of flipping it into drive and then into sport again, you can press and hold the right shift lever on the steering wheel, then press and hold the left shift lever (so that you have them pressed together) and then release them simultaniously. It is a lot more to write than to do, but it is the quickest way.
@@KaySlagman holy smokes. Never heard of this method before. So this would eliminate having to go back into D and flip again to the left back to S? I wonder if the method you mentioned changes it fast enough before you need to shift though..
@@Eddy-09 Yes indeed. If you do it a couple of times, you’ll get a feel for the timing. For me it has become an automatism and it’s very quick. Try it :)
M3s are not about straight line performance. I went from mppsk 340 to the f80, it's night and day in terms of handling. M3 is a true sports car, 340 is just a sporty car.
Hmmm that first race looks like m3 missed a shift , manual? Second race the M3 took off on some momentum while you didn’t have any plus like someone said ditch the paddles....actually I’ve found in addition to letting car shift itself shifting with the actual shifter works well too
Well I have a 2018 M3 its on an e85 tune I’m making like 600wheel and I short shift at around 61-6500 my redline is 8k the turbos don’t make power in the higher rpm ranges.
m3 looking niceee, you can tell m3 is the faster car, was getting held back by the driver and tranny. M340i still a dope car, can't lose with either tbh
F80 M3 is still significantly faster, problem here is that it’s a manual, you can see how much the M3 suffers each time the guy shifts. Stage 2 b58 is where you will be about as fast(maybe still a bit less) as an automatic M3. But then again stage 1 on the S55 will immediately add 70hp and then it wouldn’t even be close again.
@@lamakicker69 im sorry, but your statement couldnt be more false. the F30 340i rwd has proven to be a 10 second car, with just a remap and a big turbo, the xdrives are even more potent to 130mph, and would smoke 90% of F8x builds, even if the M has extensive mods + programming. but dont just take my word for it, use this 340i vs f90 M5 video for reference ruclips.net/video/3ABEiWd1aVw/видео.html
@@hau5muzeek no it’s not false…? The stock S55 makes like 70 more hp than the stock B58, and they tune more than the B58 because the stock internals can withstand more power because it’s a real M engine. I own a B58, I love it, it makes lots of power really easily and fairly cheap compared to an M car. But it’s not faster than the S55, don’t lie to yourself.
@@lamakicker69 the keyphrase in my statement was remap (flashtune), pure 800, full bolt-ons, E30, xdrive…and any F8x platform (rwd) will have a very, very hard time keeping up. of course on stock programming its a completely different story..
@@hau5muzeek dude what? The F82 can tune higher than the B58. If you did full bolt one and bigger turbos and e30 with a flash turn on the F82 then it will smoke the B58. If you mod the engines the same the S55 will beat the B58, it makes more power and has stronger internals. Comparing a full bolt on B58 vs a stock S55 then sure it will win but that’s not a fair comparison.

Whatever you were doing to try to speed shift an automatic on the second race, pls stop and just leave it lol
😂
M3 is the faster car, but the new M340i is extremely fast

And pushing it over to D and then back to S this quickly while on the throttle, won’t mess anything up on the car?

The results would've been slightly different had he would've let the car do the shifting...

I agree the M3 will always be the “truest or purest” sports car out of these, but I still think the 2020+ M340i is an upgrade from the 340i 1st gens.
Yeah well the 340i is like a sporty daily while the m3 is a proper sports car

Now imagine if you take the passenger in the M340i and put him in the M3. Not only will the M340i do better this time, the M3 will do worse.
You shift incorrectly. Let the computer do it if you can't use paddle shifters lol.

Always let the car shift if youre not manual.
M340i the perfect daily driver for all year driving
Doesn’t know how to use the shifter that’s hilarious
its actually called a m340i
Drivermod needed

Its so close because the m3 is manual
What’s that thing dancing at the end of the video? Look funny
I would let the computer shift next time big dog
Why are using the paddle shifters😂😂
Nice video
Why you shifting like that 🤣
should have gotten a F80 with DCT for a better match
How you mess up shifting an automatic 😂😂😂
he doesnt know how to drive automatic or drive automatic like manual lol
I didn’t know you could be garbage shifting paddle shifters till now lmfaoooo
B58 is 👑
F80 is a more beautiful and emotional car
manually shifting an automatic? lmao...
