Me pondering the reptile communities, strange obsession with my foot apparel.

Probably the most asked question over the many years that I have worked with venomous snakes has been why do you wear flip-flops? Well, simply stated, they are very comfortable and I tend to be more stable on flip-flops then a closed shoe. Admittedly, wearing closed shoes while working with venomous snakes is the correct thing to do, but this is one area that I have always taken shortcuts. Never once had a problem as a result of wearing flip-flops. I guess I’ll just have to continue trying to understand reptile peoples foot fetishes.
