Wow you took a lot more footage than I expected - you powered through! I miss it already and can’t wait for the next one. Thanks for being my show-wingperson, always there when I needed a breather from the tables haha.
To be honest, I was so overwhelmed Friday that I could barely remember my phone was in my hand. I was much better Saturday. Glad we did three days this year instead of just one! Until our next pen show!
This was fun to watch. I saw some really nice pens when you were at Carolina Pen Co’s table. I’m going to have to look into getting one of his pens. Thank you for showing us around.
Enjoyed meeting you at the show and at the Aloft bar. First time at the SF Pen Show, and second pen show overall. What a wonderful experience! I enjoyed talking to you and Francisco at the Hinze table on Sunday morning. Kind of regretting not ordering one of those Old Fashioned pens we were joking around about! Got home on Tuesday night and getting readjusted to East Coast time. Wow - what a weekend!
So glad you came to say hi and we could have a quick chat. That Old Fashioned Pen is still calling your name! Hope you've been able to recover after the weekend. I'm still recovering!
I giggled at “stuff bed” 🤭 it was so amazing to meet and talk with you! I remember watching your 2023 vlog about taking breaks and while Eileen and I said we would do that, we didn’t 😂 breaks definitely need to be scheduled in! Great vlog! I’m reliving the pen show watching all these videos.
You two just worked through it, no breaks! I even took a nap on Saturday! 😂 it was so lovely to officially meet you in person. I loved your vlog too and I cannot wait to watch your haul! Until next year!
those shots of the bridge at the beginning were great, thanks for sharing! that haul is amazing, I'm looking forward to future pen review and ink swatching videos ❣❣ you passed so many amazing pens and tables on your tour of Saturday, I think i would've been overwhelmed. There's just so much to look at haha and this is after some of them have been sold down already. also i think your review of the nib grinding was really honest, more than negative. especially since you had to pay extra for the service I get being disappointed in it being disjointed
Thank you so much! It was definitely overwhelming, which was why I couldn't film anything on Friday. Once I had the lay of the land, so to speak, it was easier to film on Saturday morning. And thank you for the feedback of my nib grinding class review. I'm glad it is helpful!
I loved every minute of this video! Helpful feedback re: the nib care and tuning class, I hope they make some changes to it for next year. So lovely meeting you in person!
@@MindfulVespers you made a little cameo in this video! So lovely to have met you, too! And I loved hearing about your haul - you and Farina were determined! 😂
What a fun video! I'm looking forward to your review of the Magna Carta pen. You may already be aware of this...the Edison Collier Grande comes with a #8 steel Magna Carta nib. I have one and really enjoy it. Best wishes 🙂
thoroughly enjoyed this peek into your pen show experience. I could feel your overwhelm, that would be me without leaving my house 😶😑🤯 I especially love your Mayfair pen, I was looking at his site & that resin is SO beautiful. Also the violet esterbrook, gorgeous colour. Thank you for sharing 💜🩷
This was such a fabulously fun recap and haul video. I know you said you didn't film much the first day, but I thought the whole compilation gave a really good POV for just what it felt like to be at the show. I know I definitely felt a little residual overwhelm when I saw the crowds again. 😅Seriously, though, I thought this was incredibly well put together. Thank you so much for sharing all your experience. I'm bummed the nib class wasn't quite what you had hoped, but I'm wicked grateful that you shared your thoughts. I don't think it would be a program I would do well in. I'm also pretty certain you've pushed me over the edge re: Bart's new design. It's been on my wishlist since I first saw it, and now seeing it a little more up close...it's definitely a lovely pen. Anyway, I've said this many times already, but it was so lovely to meet you and finally get to talk and hang out face-to-face. Can't wait for next year!
Hi Christy! Thanks for the kind words about the video. I constantly compare myself to other vlogs and hope this was valuable. I was so happy to finally meet you and get to spend time with you! I'm glad the feedback on the nib class was helpful. My expectations for it were certainly different than what actually happened, and I hope that others can gain some insight based on my observations. Until the next pen show!
My major regret in this pen show was not coming up to you, saying hi and telling you how much I love your videos. I saw you there on Saturday but you looked so busy that I did not want to interrupt you. Thank you for sharing your experience and all the great stuff you bought.
I know it’s not the point of this video put that little swatch of Luna Moth Green has really caught my eye 👀 I love how vibrant it is. Honestly I can’t even imagine how exhausting and overstimulating pens shows can be. I sometimes go to local zine fairs and that’s already almost too much for me. Having to travel and staying multiple days is such an adventure.
The inks I sampled at Anderillium were all so good! And it was definitely a lot to process over that many days. The only thing I would change is to take at least 1-2 days off AFTER the pen show! ☺️
@@KarynaLovesToPlanI was hoping to make 2023 SF my first pen show. It didn’t happen. But I am planning to attend the Friday of the Orlando Pen Show this year. I am making this part of my Orlando vacation. Looking forward to it.
Some of the workshops were really bad, I attended an urban sketching workshop that was absolutely the worst, to the point I kind of feel scammed. I also attended nib tuning, and I found it very basic, more for a person that has never tried to fix their nibs. It wasn't bad but it was too basic for me. Also, I think the organizers need to pay more attention to the workshops they allow in the show, and they need to stop using the same space for two classes at the same time.
Oh no. I'm so sorry that the first workshop was not great. I was also not a fan of the nib tuning (but glad to get the materials at least). The nib grinding was okay, but so disorganized. We spend a lot of money on these workshops and some of these instructors are fantastic, but there are some that need a bit more help.
I live in the Modesto area and San Francisco is one of my favorite places to go. Glad you enjoyed our city!
Thank you! It was so fun having my cousin give me a history lesson on WW2 and SF!

Thank you so much! I have A LOT of ink to go through!
I am glad you had such a good time at the show! Can't wait to see all the upcoming videos!
Thanks Shauna! It was definitely A LOT for the system but I would do it again and again!
Such a great haul! I love the pen from Lucky Star. And I'm looking forward to seeing all your ink swatches!

I’m so glad you had a great time Karyna! Gorgeous goodies, enjoy 🤩
