I’ve taken the CCA exam today and I passed! These review videos were very helpful. I listened to them everyday for the last two weeks! To be honest! The test was very tricky! Reading your guidelines in all the books is important! Read each and every guideline if you have time! Going through old textbooks are helpful too! I had 20 minutes to complete 30 questions because I was running out of time! If you’re running out of time; make sure you answer any and all questions! Never leave them blank! Your odds may increase! Go with your gut feeling! I am so glad I did not go back and change my answers when I flagged my marked answers! Great videos. You covered these domains really well! I had to reference my memory of each question to these videos! 🤗 You were on point! Great job!
I plan on taking the exam in March but I haven’t finished taking the class. I know that eligible because I have a high school diploma. I’m just unsure about a few things like I don’t even know who will be reimbursed these videos talk about reimbursement. So do you mind telling me what reimbursement is. I do know other things about the exam like how to code diagnoses but I’m depending on the internet and my cca prep exam book to help me prepare for the rest of the exam.
@@desireediggs1232 Of course. Reimbursement is the term used for payment to the provider [physician, hospital, clinic, etc.] for services provided to the patient. The patient receives the care [procedures, services, treatments] and then, typically, a claim will be submitted listing what was provided, and the third-party payer will send the money to pay for [reimburse] what was done. NOTE: What I just stated here explains a Fee-For-Service method of reimbursement. There are several different methods used for reimbursing [paying] for procedures, services, and treatments provided to a patient. These include: capitation, episodic [such as DRG], value-based, and more.
Does anyone remember how the multiple choice questions went on the exam? What is the main ideas you want to focus on? With he CCA is there more guideline questions? or assigning codes
Did you say that medline plus was a good site for learning medical terminology? If so, I’m having a hard time finding terms to study. Or is it not supposed to be a list?
Desiree- Medical terminology is a language, so you might benefit from a medical dictionary, or you can use MedlinePlus, which is an online medical dictionary and encyclopedia. If you are learning medical terminology, I suggest you find a medical terminology textbook. Amazon.com, as well as most online booksellers have them. This is necessary because, in addition to simply learning the meanings of medical terms, you need to learn about prefixes, roots, and suffixes, to help you figure out the meaning of terms that are new to you. If you prefer, there are also online medical terminology courses: check AAPC, as one option,: www.aapc.com/training/online-medical-terminology-training-course.aspx Learning medical terminology will help you both professionally and personally - because we all become a patient at some point.
Education_VideoMe it will also help me because I plan on taking the exam in April. Hopefully I have out enough time to prepare and hopefully your videos will help because I’m not in a class for it yet.
Hello I took my CCA exam this morning amd failed by 1point. I had the lowest precentage in Clinical Classification Systems. What exactly could I study more of to be able to pass? Is it really worth it to retest? New books are required starting May 1st, 2018. Meaning I would have to buy them and pay for the exam! I just feel really defeated by that 1 point!
I recommend both the Certified Coding Associate (CCA) Exam Preparation book from AHIMA as well as the Professional Review Guide for the CCA Examination written by Patricia Schnering, published by Cengage.
Many thanks, I have been researching "cpc certification study guide 2013" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Lukesey CPC Carnage - (search on google ) ? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my mate got great success with it.

Tori Robinson - oh that hurts, when it is so close. Classification Systems are you questions about coding.
Increase your review on the coding guidelines, especially.
Education_VideoMe thank you
great
Can you recommend a good resource book to study for the CCA Exam
Yes, the CCS Exam Preparation, 6th ed from AHIMA Press, and the Professional Review Guide for the CCA, 2017, from Cengage Learning. Hope this helps!
