      Winner of a video, I've been looking for "how to become a certified coder medical" for a while now, and I think this has helped. Have you heard people talk about - Lukesey CPC Carnage - (do a google search ) ? Ive heard some extraordinary things about it and my buddy got amazing results with it.

    I agree with the other comments on here, I've been searching for ACTUAL redacted coding examples with an ACTUAL Physician report to dissect! I am taking an AAPC course but haven't had any real examples yet so please do more of these, with out patient coding examples !!!!!!! I need practice so thank you!!!!

    I'm in school for medical billing & coding at Penn Foster. I started Feb 14th, 2020 & will complete the program May/June 2021 and I can't wait to do my externship. Although I go through a ton of pain etc because I have sickle cell disease. I'm determined to do my best & stay motivated.

But very recently I have been wanting to spread my wings and extend my knowledge of medical biller and coder now I’m ready. I really appreciate your video and with you going into detail, my school did not even go into detail like this. I thank you, and I will continue watching your videos🙂.

    I'm really interested in medical coding and I'm starting an HIT program in Fall 2020. Seeing you mention how it's actually fun and how you light up when you talk about it makes me more motivated to stay positive and do my best in school. Thanks for sharing! This is super confusing to me now but I know I can come here for help in the future. Super excited!

    Hi Kate I have a question and having trouble locating the codes. A patient undergoes an excision of a lesion from the left thyroid (open approach), and an excision of a lesion from the upper gum tissue (open approach). The physician also inserts an anterior nasal packing into the left nostril to control nose bleeding (that is epistaxis). Assign the ICD-10 PCS procedure codes

    • @codingwithkate3792
      @codingwithkate3792  6 лет назад +3

      Alanda Sylvester you would want to go to the index and look for excision-thyroid gland-left and it will give you the first 4 characters of the code. Then in the main section of the book find those first 3 characters found on the side margin of the pages. Look for the excision table and from there you can confirm the 4th character for thyroid-left and complete your code. Follow those same steps for the rest of those procedures since they all take place on separate body parts: in the index excision-gingiva(gums)-upper (there is a diagram at the beginning of the mouth/throat chapter), packing-nasal. Always remember with PCS to look for the procedure/root operation first in the index if you are unsure of the body system! Great question and hopefully this was helpful!

    • @codingwithkate3792

      Michele Lynn not quite because the information gleaned from the op report is used to build a code in the PCS codebook, whereas in CPT you don’t need all of that information to choose a code.
