I am no friend of the Corpse Emperor, but hearing that Raven Guard Astartes say "VICTORY OR DEATH" brought a tear to my eye. It made me almost want to take up arms, and start fighting. I've had to listen to this four or five times, now. (And, yes, I do love the Raven Guard, and hate all things Xenos.)
Seems to be a lot of love for the more underused parts of the lore recently. Raven Guard, humans amongst the Tau, Fire Warriors. Love to see it. Great work as always Vox.
That must be quite impressive being essentially promoted to sergeant by a space marine. All in all, this video portrays the true power of the raven. Victorious aut mortis. Some feats can never be accomplished by sheer force or arms. There is probably no more than 20 or so raven guard on the assault and yet the tau have been dealt a colossal blow that they probably won't come back from. Victory is only a matter of time, such is the way of the raven.
Corax would be proud of his sons. The Shadow of the Emperor falls on the enemies of the Imperium. Where other forces would ignore the guard and even the civilians, the sons of Corax bring hope to the hopeless, they are not abandoned but given renewed faith in the Emperor of Mankind.
That moment when the Guardsman realizes that the astartes had arrived. CHILLING. Sir, you have continued to amaze with the quality of not only your audio but voice. Keep it up!~

I love these stories with a (somewhat) happy ending! I feel like with most of the stories I’ve listened to here it’s like a snapshot of what’s happening somewhere in the imperium that we get to see and as soon as we blink it’s gone, leaving me wanting more!
That's kind of what I'm going for with the channel! I like the little snapshots into the 40k universe and I feel I've succeeded as a creator when a story can be told in a short space of time!
I like how, at a certain moment, elocution pace slows down, while the music and the battle sounds keep playing, reflecting the passive attitude of the guardsmen while space marines carry the fight to the tau.
Happy bird noises to you all! My Raven guard brothers saving the day and kicking some grayskin arses! (Now back to the shadows and brooding). I like how the sergeant specifically instructs the guardsman to escort civillians to safety. Many people forget that Ravens actually care for the people of the Imperium. They are always in the shadow (hehe, got it?) of the Salamanders, Lamenters and hell, even Wolves of Fenris (well, Wolves are always loud about whatever they do so it's hard to overhear them). But it suits them well as they don't stay for the victory party. You do the Emperor's work, Vox. Victorus aut Mortis!
Holy shit man I was ready to grab a lasrifle myself and gear up at the end of the story. If you need a short story to pump you up for the day, this is the one.
This was simply exhilarating to listen to! Incredible storytelling, enthralling description, and superb voice acting. The arrival of the Reivers was so frightening and uplifting at the same time. Also shows the Raven Guard's incredible patience and precision, striking at the exact moment and place the enemy least expected, perfectly fitting for the XIX Legion! For the most part, I don’t listen to audiobooks, but occasionally I’ve made exceptions. I’m so glad that I chose to do so with this one! A Vox In The Void is one of the absolute best narrators out there, in my opinion, and I know that if I’m in the (admittedly) rare mood to have something read to me, they definitely never disappoint. I have a very high opinion of Kill Team Hungary, as well- they’re another one that never disappoints. I generally read only Heresy-related novels, history, etc, so it’s about 85% of the Warhammer content I ingest. But I do like to read the Codices for various factions in 40K, and sometimes some Grey Knights or Inquisition, or just regular Astartes tales. That’s what got me into the hobby in the first place, the stories and (mainly) the artwork from Fantasy and 40K in White Dwarf magazines, beginning back in 1988, when I was in junior high school. Anyway- fantastic job on this- I really enjoyed listening to it, and I look forward to more collaborations from you guys. Thanks so much!
We are probably around the same age judging by when you first got into Warhammer. It was around the same time I discovered the wonder that was white dwarf. My friends had space crusade and hero quest which also fueled the fire.
@@AVoxintheVoid Yup- I was born in 1975. There was a small used book store in the even smaller town that I grew up in, that sold mainly old sci-fi and fantasy paperbacks, magazines, and comic books. They had a great selection and stock of back issues, including a lot of stuff from the UK, like 2000AD and Judge Dredd, and independent comics that you wouldn’t find elsewhere, things like that. As a kid, this was like being in a wizard’s study- it was small, cramped, you couldn’t see out the windows, the ceiling was low, and the walls were covered in overlapping posters, comics in Mylar bags, and collectible ephemera, and it was packed, floor to ceiling in places, with the coolest stuff. The person who owned it was a large and somewhat intimidating looking guy with dark glasses and a big beard, who was a little unapproachable at first, but if you were a respectful return customer, he warmed up and became quite talkative. He was knowledgeable on a wide range of obscure subjects, and was extremely helpful in tracking down whatever you were looking for. His name was Mark (which is also my name), and we devoted customers referred to him (never to his face, though in retrospect, he probably would have found it funny) as “BookMark”. The store was called Aardvark Books, and according to the older generation of customers, BookMark was undercover FBI, and the store was a front for the operation of infiltrating a local drug ring whose main customers were high school students. He was rumored to have a sawed-off shotgun hidden behind the counter. I don’t think I believe all that, but sadly one day, Aardvark Books was just *poof*- gone. No “store closing in 4 weeks” or “going out of business sale” signs, no warning, just there one day, closed and empty the next. I remember that was the first time I actually saw through the windows- they were normally covered in posters and comics, but looking in, we could see it was empty. It was really sad. Anyway- that’s where I saw and bought my first issue of White Dwarf- and if you remember those days how it looked, you can understand how my imagination was fired just seeing all of that stuff for the first time, and without knowing anything about these worlds that were already so huge and involved. And the artwork, damn- I was hooked. I bought every issue he had back then- luckily I still have about a dozen of them, including issue 100, which was a larger size than the usual. It was around this time that my friend’s older brother got the RTB-01 box, and he abandoned it fairly quickly. He let us have the rest of what he hadn’t used, and he had only built about two models. We tried to paint them up, but they looked like we painted them with a roller and house paint. There were also some metal Terminators and Orks, and lo and behold- the original Land Raider model. (Of all of it, I wish I still had that one). I didn’t try painting again until around 2016- but since then, I’ve definitely gotten better and I’m actually proud of some of what I’ve painted. Oh wow- I just realized how long this has gotten- sorry! I have a tendency to get quite verbose, especially when recalling stuff like that. I guess it’s just a quality that us dinosaurs share- we become a bit like Iacton Qruze, The Half-Heard. Once again- I really enjoy the work that you do on here. God bless you Paul! You have a magic voice - I'd hire you ANY day of the week! May well do so yet! I follow all your stories, long, short - whatever. My favourite audio voice for Warhammer 40 k is Johnathon Keeble. You come a close a second. Dave from Kiwiland! ;)
I keep returning to this one. Also to this one. You do good work.
I loved every second of this. Thank you.
Great to hear a Raven Guard story. The true masters of stealth.
Finally another longer piece! I much prefer these over things like shorts. Keep it up!
I also prefer getting stuck into longer pieces. It's a balancing act between full time work/family and the channel. Don't worry there's plenty more longer pieces in the works
"But it's strike was surprisingly weak" lol
Tau dont even lift
Just amazing. Makes me want to write another story. :)
This is epic...the story telling is insanely good
Oooh, boy. I absolutely love the Raven Guard and I absolutely despise the Tau - if this is campaign is what i think it is, I must fortify my heart in anticipation of heartbreak and disappointment. Victory or Death!
I don't think you have to worry about heartbreak sir 😜
True, it's the duty of the Lamenters to break our hearts, but I still want my sneaky emo bird-boys to come out on top 😓
It's a cold winter's night here lights them low a little bit of smoke and a good story to relax my mind
Many thanks for this blessed story. Its cold and the rise of furious and righteous blood lust is warm
Yup, “The Emperor Protects”, but when it comes to his own sons, The Emperor Neglects.😆
The music choice, the voice acting, sfx, just everything is such a work of art!
this is why I give my stories to Vox
@@KillTeamHungary i need more of these stories! I would love to hear some grimdark tales involving the eldar. something about the terror of space elves really raises the hair on my spine.
One of the best 40k narrators
If not the best
Too kind my friend
@@AVoxintheVoid truth is free buddy
I’m new to the warhammer franchise thus just another unknown recruit, but after discovering the raven gaurd….I never felt more comfortable and proud in presences to truely call “brothers”. We don’t seek honor nor glory for their are none on the battlefield only a fight that needs to be finished. VICTORUS AUT MORTIS!
Wow, I must say I'm impressed, I could have been fooled thinking it was an official audio! Keep up the great work :)
That's great to read 🙂 I spend along time editing these together and I'm glad they come across as 'professional' products
Vox
I honestly belive the stories are now written with Paul´s voices in mind.
It's perfection is intense.
Ladies and gentlemen, the Raven Guard!
BADASS narration!! Great job making us feel like a rank and file Guardsman seeing a DEMI-GOD Astarte drop in from the heavens with the Holy Bolter and blade cleansing the Xenos filth."Into the Fires of Battle, Unto the anvil of war !"
Well that was great, thank you!
yaaaay that was awesome!!! love me some raven guard and guardsman bad@ssery
Never cease to amaze with these stories! Truly well worth the listen. Never did i think a Tau Orca being destroyed could be so awe inspiring
The Orcas were the dots coming out of the big boi that was destroyed by the Ravens ;)
This was an awesome story, first thing I did after waking up today was hearing this, Great job by both you and Kill Team Hungary
Thanks a bunch :)
That was incredibly good! You're up there with the best of them, Vox :D
Thankyou my man!
This one was great I love the Raven Guard story
The Raven Guard shall always be my chapter of choice. Their primarch's story, the time in the Heresy, the warfare. The sons of Corax move without sound or sight, only seen when they allow it. I could go on for another 10 minutes about them.
I am thinking of writing the prequel story of Ravenfall :)
Just in time the emperor's angles arrive!!!
I loved this one! I needed something inspiring today. Always love interactions between guardsmen and astartes. I admire the consistent quality of yr vids vox.
Glad you enjoyed it Ethian! (Cool name by the way) recording a new one this weekend so it may be out by the end of next week
40k keeping me from feeling like shit atm after being scammed, I must keep fighting as long as I draw breathe that will be enough, thank you vox and all the writers for these amazing stories. Stay safe out there gentlemen
FOR THE EMPEROR!
That sounds awful. Are we talking fraud? I've had it happen to me before and it's just the worst. Stay safe brother
@@AVoxintheVoid yes unfortunately it is indeed a terrible feeling brother someone I knew(account was hacked) referred me for an investment to this scumbag I should’ve known I should’ve seen the red flags by the emperors it’s like Erebus fucking up everything months of hard work construction to save that but I blame myself for fucking up only thing left is to live and learn from this I keep working hard still more work to come but indeed stay safe out there lads be vigilant of these scumbags.
Really sorry to hear that. Does your bank not have fraud protection? Or any way of getting the money back?
@@AVoxintheVoid unfortunately no there was nothing they could do and I learned a hard lesson never Zelle venmo or PayPal anyone you don’t know because I learned the hard way it doesn’t have fraud protection a hard pill to swallow knowing you can’t do anything about it I live regretting and saying how I could believed why didn’t I do this I should’ve done that but nothing can change it now, though the scumbag still roams I cannot let this tear me down, I just know I need to keep going and learn from my mistakes
For the Greater Good!!!
Very looking forward to this
Hope you enjoy my brother!
Dude that was great, totally pictured my Riever Sargent talking to the Guardsman,
@@jtburtt that's always an awesome thing to read. That something I've been a part of can inspire imagination like this. 💪
Absolutely incredible vox!
Thankyou!! Really appreciate the kind words!
This was epic!! Hope there are more stories like this in the future!!
Thank you! A new story in formulating in my head. Unification wars ;)
GIVE ME MORE THUNDER WARRIORS!!!!
@@KillTeamHungary Awesome!!! Can't wait!!
@@AVoxintheVoid AGREED!!!
The Emperor does indeed protect.
Soon as I feel his best hit is that weak I'm going feral
Excellent as ever. Well played Sir.
Thanks Rob!
Spoilers......
The human in league with the Tau was great. usually its a rarely mentioned footnote so to see it in detail is great to hear. As always overall quality was amazing. I'd say you'd be able to do an amazing story of Gaurdsmen falling victim to Alpha Legionaires.
Oh yeah, that's the stuff! Great job as always vox
Cheers buddy. Glad you enjoyed it
I want a continuation of this story, following the guardsman and his troops
hmmm :)
Stealth builds are always OP.
What track did you use when the raven guard made planet fall? It’s absolutely fire
Awesome, thank you
The Emperor Protects!
He does indeed!
Chills man... super awesome job
I love to hear it when I drive
Ooh is this like the descent of the angel ? Can't wait.
Very different in tone if I'm honest
You have a great voice. You're what I imagine Magnus would sound like
I love it . you always kill it . more please.😀
Awesome, made my day. thank you
Damn, i feel bad for the Tau
