You honor the sons of Sanguinius with this story. The Lamenters are such a unique chapter of space marines. Those with more humanity than most of the Imperium. The courage to fight on, but NEVER forget the death of all those in this endless war. They do not supress or deny it. They embrace it, and serve so those that were lost are never truly gone
Man this story is so good the dialogue for me really shows the difference between those marines who still hold their emotions and those that don’t, the lamenters really are one of the best chapters to write stories about because they are so flawed.

@@AVoxintheVoid honestly I prefer the gallant space knight theme over the in human warriors . The Lamenters and the Salamanders are for me what the Emperors true vision of what his Space Marines should have been

If anything the Emperor was too inhuman to see how human He had made the Primarchs by that point. While I wasn't expecting this to be a conversation-driven story without any action/killing I throughly enjoyed it nonetheless. Being a Lamenter must be utterly exhausting/draining both mentally and psychologically since they are kind and empathetic while also being the Emperor’s transhuman angels of death. This story captured that struggle perfectly; the depression-attack was especially noteworthy. I also enjoyed the tender, lightly humorous ending. The Lamenters remain in touch with their human emotions - both negative and positive - even though they aren't truly human anymore. It's an awesome story and you did a great job bringing it to life. I'm biased but damn this is a MASTERPIECE! So damn touching. Superhuman feels for superhuman warriors. It's the kind of 40k story you'd only get from a chapter as noble and human as the lamenters. By far my favorite work of yours. Tod Townsend can't stop writing bangers either. It's all about what the lamenters are all about, bringing hope and light no matter how dark the world gets, getting beaten down and then getting back up again no matter the odds.
Thank you for your kind words; I really enjoyed writing this story and I'm so grateful Vox opted to narrate it despite it being a purely dialogue-driven narrative. Just as the emporor intended , these mest babies treasure each others friendship and cause their not just friends they are best battle buddy's its even more special
Great work as always !! Seeing the miniature I first thought that It was about the Marines Maevolent, thinking about it someone could make a good audio about them…
The end was just... It leaves an impression. The narration has been delivered, the story been told and it was powerful. If you have the ability to make someone feel for a story, that's a job done well.
The story, the sounds and music, the ending, god the ending. I couldnt help but burst out a laughter of pure happiness, we need more stories like this, I love it so god damn much ! Let there be hope, dreams and happiness in this uncaring galaxy because for those we cherish we die in glory !
This was incredible. The story and the narrative were delivered beautifully. I have not stopped to consider the depth of character that the Lamenters have, from their lore you can only ever see how much they sacrifice for an uncaring universe, yet do so gladly to protect those who otherwise would get consumed by that darkness. Yet the Lamenters keep going. Cursed. Dying in droves. They keep going and ask for nothing. Beautiful. "FOR THOSE WE CHERISH, WE DIE IN GLORY!!!"
this is a great story...and your voices, your tones inflections and emotion elevate it to a level the author never dreamed of reaching..sincerely that was epic...BRAVO
Another masterful achievement of narration and story-telling! LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!! Especially the ending. That so sweet and tender! Hope they get more of that.
Shout out to Anteious and overall the Marines Errant during the Badab War. Mfs are actually one of the few that actually care for them, or at least have some semblance of respect
This is awesome, the technical production, the music and the vocal presentation, amazing. Leaves many professional readings sounding like an asthmatic squig. May the emperor protect.
A life bearing world is the Emperor's domain. If taken by the enemy, it is TEMPORARILY denied to Him. When it is destroyed... It is PERMANENTLY denied to Him. Our victories with this end result are in fact no victory at all. We just finalize the enemies work.
Not sure who wrote this but in doing so inadvertently wrote something akin to what it's like being extremely Bi-polar this one hit hard thanks for sharing Vox.
I love this so much, so many of the Space Marine chapters have lost thier emotions and humanity. So when you get one through the eye of a "flawed" chapter such as the Lamenters who still have those such feeling that give them a dynamic that in my mind make them some what greater than those who do not. You can really feel his frustration, sorrow, guilt and in the end his excitement and joy as he steals that head start to race his Chaplin brother. As always great writing and narration. 😁👍👌
On today's episode of "Man I Feel Bad For the Lamenters". Poor guys often can't catch a break, due to luck and their conscience. No good deed truly does go unpunished for them in the hellscape of the galaxy, but even then they still do have good moments like this. Cool to see how despite their much more human emotions, they still have the mental strength of an Astarte. Overall, nice story. Goes to show not every story featuring Astartes doesn't have to be just war, but can be very emotional as well. Your voice of course really helped bring that emotional aspect to life, wouldn't have been nearly as hard hitting for me otherwise, great job.
This was beyond amazing. This entire dialogue... we have all been through it: telling your version of things and then realizing that you probbaly shouldn't have opened up as much. He really is surrounded by real genuine brothers. Within and outside his chapter. Such a good story and thank you so much and bringing these characters to life.

The ripping emotional dimension to this cut in stark juxtaposition to the threat of violence when the Marine Errant sees the red tinged tears, ave imperator!
for those that dont know, this is a reference of the Corinth Crusade and more specifically the Liberation of Slaughterhouse III.
For those we cherish!
*We die in glory!*
I felt this in my soul... That last bit... Holy god emperor... That was incredible...
Thank you so much simon
@@AVoxintheVoid giving credit where credit is due 🖤
Truly, this was the most inspiring thing I've heard in my entire life... So I had to say something...
Thanks to you as well 🖤
This is great. Really develops their care for the people, and their own humanity.
"Last one to the chapel is a Mortifactor!" THAT'LL get someone moving... 😆
The Lamenters are my favorite Space Marine Chapter and I am so glad to be able to expose them to a wider audience. For these we cherish! ~ T.T

Vox is a narrative beast of apocalyptic proportions!
Why thankyou sir Nix! Hope you enjoy it if you're listening later?
Yes.
Just as the emporor intended , these mest babies treasure each others friendship and cause their not just friends they are best battle buddy's its even more special
It was really enjoyable a treat when needed
For anybody who's still looking for the background music, I think I finally found it. The name is Deyja by Hampus Naeselius.
I've already read the story but hearing this in audio form really elevates the experience, keep up the great work man.
This was truly beautiful.
i enjoy how vox shares stories about the warhammer 40K universe where characters show humanity and genuine care for one another
The lamenters care. In the grim darkness of the future, they still care.
IMO, that's what you do in the face of grim darkness.
Damn.....crazy this actually had me starting to get choked up.. Great read..great story....
This was truly amazing, and I can relate. Thank you for publishing this!
In spite of his colorful castigations, I do believe that the Chaplain was smiling and laughing with his Brother Captain.
Very well done, good sir.
Great work as always !!
Seeing the miniature I first thought that It was about the Marines Maevolent, thinking about it someone could make a good audio about them…
I cant put my finger on exactly why but every time I finish this video towards the end it fills me with this choked melancholic joy
You really bring the bipolar of the lamentors to life. It's a great story and as always you have beautifully brought it to life.
By far one of my favorite vox's you given us. I love the humanity of the lamenters. With your storytelling there is no substitute
The end was just... It leaves an impression. The narration has been delivered, the story been told and it was powerful. If you have the ability to make someone feel for a story, that's a job done well.
I am dragged into his loss and failure. Very powerful.
I teared up, the captain saying he'll race the Chaplain is just perfect...
Damn this really put me tears bro, that ending.....damn
I must say this video successfully turn me into a even bigger lamenters fan, amazing job and thank you!
Thankyou so much, it was a pleasure narrating this wonderful piece of fiction. Props to Tod for his awesome writing
I've been listening to several of your videos today. All of them were great, this one was beautiful.
Such is the existence of the Ninth and its successors. A saddening thing to be reminded of, but inherently a part of who they are.
this is a great story...and your voices, your tones inflections and emotion elevate it to a level the author never dreamed of reaching..sincerely that was epic...BRAVO
a hopeful message AND no depressing twist at the end? you spoil us
hey its got to happen at least once a year
Another masterful achievement of narration and story-telling! LOVED THIS SO MUCH!!! Especially the ending. That so sweet and tender! Hope they get more of that.
Thankyou David! I've really been lucky with the heartfelt pieces I have been sent. I love exploring the more human side of this universe!
@@AVoxintheVoid Here's hoping I can soon add mine to that. Been busy, haven't written much, sorry.
@@davebowman9000 look forward to reading it!
Shout out to Anteious and overall the Marines Errant during the Badab War. Mfs are actually one of the few that actually care for them, or at least have some semblance of respect
To describe why the Lamenters are my favorite chapter, there's no better material than this.
Man... I really wish there was a physical book for this.
Bro this was just beautiful, thank you
I love this. I shit you not, now this is one of my favorite stories... and not just 40k. Awesome. Thank you for sharing this.
That is seriously humbling sir. Thankyou for your kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed the story and performance to that degree
I love this so much bro, so much.

This is phenomenal. Expressing emotions so much harder for a battle built Astartes than singlehandedly fighting a war. So great
What a phenomenal story to wake up to at 4am!!! Definitely awake now. Thank you for sharing this awesome story
Glad to be part of your morning routine sir!
The foot race at the end, simply beautiful......
😁👍👌
I can't believe my luck in stumbling across this channel. Incredible work!
And I'm lucky to have you here! Thankyou brother!
It’s enough to make a night lord cry
This video just got recommended to me, I actually clicked on it because I noticed the thumbnail is of my artwork. I've seen other people use my art without credit and I've very happy to see you gave credit. What an awesome listen this was :)
Wow! I'm sorry I didn't reach out first. Would you be happy if I used any more of your work with full credit etc. Thankyou once again for your wonderful work!
Go ahead man!, I'm stoked by the idea of more people seeing my art
Ive listened to this story more times than I care to admit... A beautiful and emotive story... Vox you will forever have my support.
This was a trip… I loved it!
the story and narration make this one of your best and my favorite.
That's amazing to read Jaloo. Thankyou so much
*WHAT YOU GUYS THINK OF HAVING A RUclips CHANNEL DEDICATED EXCLUSIVELY TO THE LAMENTERS* ? 🧐.
(Give me a like and comment to me of what you think)
This was a wonderful listen. Thank you for this gift, Vox.
The Unbreakable Lamenters.
Loved it. It was superb, from the story to the storytelling. I love BAs, but have always looked at the Lamenters as a weird brother who doesn’t fit in. This story actually makes me think there’s more Sanguinius in Lamenters than in BAs…at least for one aspect of him.
Beautiful! For those we cherish we die in glory!
Last one to watch is a Mortifactor. Why tf all lamenters story are so great. We really need an book trylogy for them at least.
As seen from my profilepicture I play as the Ultramarines, but the more I learn about the lamenters the more I love them. If I had known about them when I started 40k I might had chossen them over the Ultramarines.... Plus I pretty much have the same casualty rating as them on the tabletop XD.
I've been enjoying fanfiction a lot more than anything GW has been publishing in the past few years.
There's just something free about it. Passion for a subject not bound by rules and a market demographic. I'm glad you enjoy it too!
A beautiful story with a beautiful voice go bring it to life. 🖤
Thankyou Ethan, really appreciate that lovely comment! Vox
