You know what truly amazes me? The fact that DGR only ONCE(that I remenber)asked his viewers to "create" troll levels for him to play in a future video waaaaay back when SMM2 first came out and yet, 2+yrs later, we still have new levels being created with #DGR! Truly amazing...
He does viewer levels and has done troll levels since SMM1. It's natural progression. He'd have just as many if he'd never asked.
Hey DGR! I've got a neat twist you could do for a future uncleared episode. If, instead of chosing the expert difficulty, you choose the easy difficulty, and then filter by clear rate, you'll get uncleared levels that have only been played by 2 or 3 people! And some of those levels are quite surprising. This is just a suggestion tho.
The problem with that is the chance of getting the first clear is a lot lower, but it could be a nice challenge.
I've done a lot of those. The "surprising" ones basically just have a hidden block that allowed the user to upload in one go.
With that first luck based one, it's actually based off what you do in that start area. Different inputs cause the rng to be different. If the creator did something like just hold right and up to get in the door, the outcome would always be the same. That's why there's all that weird stuff to cause you to do stuff like throw pows or shoot fireballs
There was actually a dev. I wasn’t able to get the correct rng but there might be a correct rng seed too though
Dave has already covered this in past videos. Everyone knows it in fact. The setup at the start prevents you from doing exact inputs before the door without being a computer / TAS bot.

I love how Dave had the persistence to beat the pick a path level but not the soft lock level. I think we now know what Dave's version of Mario hell is. lol
DGR the 1 in 64 level has a dev! Run off the ice at the start on to the cloud wall and you’ll hit a star. Hit the munchers, grab the star, take damage, enter the door, re-enter the door, then re-enter AGAIN. You’ll have a clear path and that’s the level!
Have you ever seen DGR not smiling in the intro? Me neither!

8:32: Suddenly Carl's Anti-softlock.
In the softlock airship level, once you get through the p-switch section, if you drop down onto the stack of crates, and hit the cheep-cheep kaizo block, you can keep climbing and hitting kaizo blocks with cheep-cheeps until, just off screen, a little to the right, there is a kaizo block with a bullet bill hat that you can use to fly to the goal, if anyone is wondering.
RNG isn't just generated randomly.
It's based on your inputs, and your movement.
If you ever play an RNG level again, try some different inputs.
Extra jump here, swing on claw longer there, walk without running somewhere.
If you just do completely consistant movements each time, the same exact numbers will be generated every time.
Everytime I hear your outro, I always want to tell you "I hope you have a great rest of your day, too".

The “rng” is based on user inputs, so you just have to try random inputs until you get the right “luck.” Doing the same movements to get in the door would never have given you the “luck” you needed. You could’ve tried all day and not succeeded.
I bet there's a dev route, what's with the seesaw at the start for example.

I was laughing uncontrollably when Dave came across Boom Boom's conjugal visit.
The 1 in 64 level you'll most likely get 3 springs more than any other amount, 6 springs 1/64, 5 springs 3/32, 4 springs 15/64, 3 springs 5/16, 2 springs 15/64, 1 spring 3/32 and 0 springs 1/64. about 31.3% of the time you'll get 3 springs.
I guarantee there is an uncleared level that is physically unbeatable.

This dgr videos is one of the best 4 minutes into the video and I've already laughed more than enough times than I should have. The first one was when he did the windows shutting down sound effect over his face. And the next one when he said I have an idea and it went black and then another voice came on he really didn't
I'm sure this is the wrong place to put this but a friend of mine shared with me a level that they have been trying to beat but haven't been able to. As far as I know it is an Uncleared level. The Level code is 8J8-WWX-4WG and is seemingly part of some kind of series. I figured I'd throw this out there for you to try out and for anyone else who wants to give this a try as well. Best of luck to all who try it!

I believe its a 1 in 60,000 chance of getting through all those choices first try. (Oop, yes, thats what DGRs calculator agrees with.)
While that rapidly declines as you make choices its still typically going to take a lot longer than the 1 in 64 level (Assuming its mechanics really do act as 50/50 flip) Though I guess it may not feel that way because you have more agency in the many, many attempts that latter level required.
2 · 3 · 4 · 5 · 10 · 50 = 1/60 000, the chance you calculated wrongly, is actually the chance of a one-shot Johnson. The expected amount of attempts is different, since you remember each room’s answer after beating it.
(2 + 3 + 4 + 5 + 10 + 50) / 2 _expected value_
+ (6 / 2) _correction factor (number of rooms)_
= 40 attempts on average (with systematic testing, assumed randomness)
I think that World level was intended to be beaten that way, and the On-Off switch was a red herring. It's in the title of the level: No Internal Timer, meaning it's not about timing.

I think the hint in the level where you had to defeat a piranha plant was telling you that there is a hidden block with a shell near the blue pipe 🙈

@DGR, in a level like the one at 21:20 you can use multiplayer mode to check every pipe without repeating the rest of the level.
Great video - would love for you to attempt Secret of the Keep (QSF-FJB-4SF) - It's not a troll level (nor my own level) but has some very interesting puzzles you may enjoy.

That level is "tame" compared to the Ceave-inspired hell dungeon I made in MM1. Not only did I make mine 2^18 chance, but I made a P-switch timer section too. Something like 17 real-world minutes between attempts. :)

dude, in the smb3 uno mas level you have to full speed slide up the slope, fall down to the plant while still sliding and thats how you kill it.
Now Dave should wait for 2 years and play it again, without touching it, looking at it, and thinking about it in the meantime :P And no notes used.

On that 1/64 chance RNG level, if you played it 100 times there's just under an 80% chance that you'd beat it at least once. To have a 50/50 shot, play it 44 times (assuming the chance really is 1/64 and I did the math right lol)

There's a mathematical error for the % chance of that last level. It needs to be multiplied by 100. The real %chance is 0.00165%
That SMW level had nothing to do with good timing. It was going to fast it was just pure luck

I think that first level is totally beatable. I just don't have a switch. lol Soooooo... when the blocks start to staircase at the end of that first level you gotta move the movable blocks and walk onto the kaizo blocks to the left then jump over the other ones.
