Yous are literally living my Dream.! Please don’t (I know it’s testing at times) take it for granted.. I really like, but at the same time don’t, watching you both because as I say it’s my dream. What you have and what your doing. I wish you both nothing but the best and happiness in life on your journey👌🏽🙏🏽✊🏽☝🏽🕊 🧿🕊
Canadian sailor and Airstreamer here. Winterize, winterize, winterize or keep the place warm. Much of the weirdness is most likely due to ice plugs in the lines and ice buildup in the pumps. Not really an issue in the short term, but can cause quite a bit of damage if the weather stays below zero for longer. Loved the slow pace of the storytelling, really gets across the mood of a winters day.
Love the way Jo’s tucked up in bed with a hot water bottle and Vic’s taking large panes of glass out to let the air in, whilst wandering around in a singlet
That intro was so professional. Keep it up the weather is getting warmer and you will be overwhelmed with punters. All your hard work will have paid off.
Number one you can help your Swans by giving them cheap cornflakes they love it better than bread , i would kindly suggest that you heavily lag all water pipes and filters plus the pump, cover your coffee machine with a cheap duvet as it will have water in the boiler, R C D needs the button pushed once a month to keep it active , its in a damp atmosphere more so than a house , hope that helps , great vlogs really enjoying them . Best Wishes to you both
Vic with your cheeky grin and Jo with your gorgeous blue eyes. You are both a breath of fresh air in these troubled times. I was binge watching in Roccella Ionica in Southern Italy and caught up with you both in this Vlog where I am in quarantine in Preveza, Greece. A very welcome distraction after my single handed three nights at sea. I'm really enjoying sharing your adventure and positive spirit. If you ever need a change of scenery after what I'm sure will be a successful first summer with Holly fully up and running, I would like to extend the offer of some time in Greece sailing onboard my home Scend Serendipity.
You have the spirit of a young boy who is so happy that you have the boat he is going to do so many pranks on you both he says and loves your company and laugher
( swan ) " holy ice breaker ! crazy human approaching with axe , not a good sign , thinks i better move . can't get a moments peace on the river nowadays . " you two are so entertaining .
Can't wait for the bridge to be done. Holly is chomping at the bit to have customers. That cold will play havoc on Holly. Across the pond we still have a long way before spring weather comes.
Hi guys its looking cold on that canal. Up and running its soo good to see you Chugging along soon be able to open the Cafe.😁🍰🥮🍵🍪☕ Best of luck with the Business 👨🔧👩🔧
I would drain down all those water pipes while the freeze is on, or make sure heat is always on. As not only do have all that expensive equipment, you now have stock that won't like swimming after an overnight water leak. Electrical problems are the worst as they always baffled me, wiring a 13amp plug was about as far as I could go. But being rafted up should not only cut down on the mud it should also give you piece of mind. Stay safe and warm. PS: It's 7am and 24deg here and the new ice maker is working fine.
Wow definitely a Hollywood opening ......as smart as you guys .I think the Swans have decided to adopt you and your training is under way. Seems that Espresso machine has a mind of its own ,but I'm glad Vic came out "Vic"torious. Cheers till next time, stay safe stay warm.
Another delightful film, you guys are performing a public service during lockdown. You deserve government support. Can't wait to buy a bun from you. :)
Aaaah! The swans probably thought you were a silly goose. Always a joy watching your videos. It keeps snowing here.. just a little each day. I think we’ve collected about 8 inches in the last two weeks. It’s warmed up to about -6C Feels balmy! Take care and thanks again for dropping by.
Ah, the joys of fault finding, it always works when you take it back!! Keep them coming, the weather is improving, we could be out of lockdown and able to move our boats soon, and you'll be able to reap the benefits of the work you've done :-)
It's maybe kind of sad how much I enjoy watching you stock your shelves. This opener...is there a youtube Oscars? And if I haven't mentioned it before, as a mechanically inclined woman, it's so nice to see Jo taking on the tile project and the sofa assembly. I can't tell you how many times men have literally taken tools out of my hand. Side-by-side...brilliant. .....I was thinking today you two are going to have such a huge fan base by summer that you'll be on the run for some alone time. Which is kind of hilarious considering your top speed is what -- 3 miles an hour? :)
Your spirit guides planned that day for you so you wouldn’t get bored over winter… From the swan pretending to be stuck to the coffee machine pretending to be broken ❤
Never a dull moment, always something pretending to be broke or swans being stuck. But as ever you both take it in your stride, keep calm and carry on. Love it, well done and best wishes to you
Hi Jo and Vic... I have subscribed and now watched all of your fantastic videos; documenting your exciting journey of both living your lives upon a narrow boat, and creating the cafe’ boat of your dreams. The both of you seem to get on so well. Vic you are so entertaining with a demeanour that really brings the love out of Jo. Jo I love how you are so organised yet realistic with the joys of the day with Vic entertaining you. I can’t wait for your next exciting episode? Oh... Vic stop eating and drinking the stock! 😀😀😀 yours, James.
Hi guys. Think this is my favourite video yet.. Did make me giggle. I lived in a house boat for many years and had exactly the same scenario. Something would stop working, I'd dismantle it, and when reassembled would miraculously start working again!! 😛. Enjoying watching your journey guys 🌄
Lovely to meet you yesterday Jo and Vic. The best hot chocolate and coffee ever! Keep up the amazing vlogs, wishing you every success with Holly, she’s stunning. Helen and Tim (Nb Maverick)
Hi jo and Vic, everything looks under control aboard Holly, and now a bit of luxury by way of a settee. Still in a kind of lockdown here in new Zealand and the bubble is killing me. Enjoy your venture on Holly. Kaiora mi tatuo from John
Vic fixing things that weren't broken and Jo managing to build a sofa and store all the stock single handed, but there again Vic did help by reducing it by drinking the Elderflower soda and eating the Black's chocolate - result...!!!
That was one your best ever videos. A rather unusual beginning, I thought I was watching an advert for a while. Clever though! The swan was having you on. I've never seen a swan stuck in ice, so it did look very strange. They're not designed for walking on ice are they?. Well done Vic for getting the electrics and water sorted and to Joanna for stacking everything away neatly. I guess there isn't room to live on Holly. That would solve the problem of leaving her in the cold, all alone. Thanks for the lovely update. See you again soon.
After all that work Victor I would be crying after not knowing for sure the problem has gone away. Joanna I like you safe contraception method well done Lol both 😘
I've just watched the Channel 5 programme about "barges". I didn't know you had got married. Many many congratulations. May the future bring you many happy things
It was wonderfull editing starting like a movie. Do it again! Those swans had you going. But still you did what you thought was a stuck swan. Roll on to next video
Love the videos and the story, hopefully spring will come along and get you busy with customers! Beautiful editing at the start, it shows off your TV show days for sure. Cant wait to see what is next!
Yet another great vlog. You are a smashing couple and deserve great success with your venture. One day I hope to enjoy a coffee and slice of Jo's cake. Keep safe
You should get a commendation from the Queen...she owns all the swans after all....lol...I can hear the conversation between those two swans..."lets see if we can get the humans to try and save us today." OR "If I sit on this ice maybe I can melt it." OR "bet you can't sit on that ice for 20 minutes without moving"...anyway, I would have done the same thing. Thanks for taking care of the swans.
Hi to you both, just watched programme on 5 and was surprised to see you both on it , congratulations on getting married we had wondered why we didn’t see a lot of vlogs, lately you were busy doing other things. We have really enjoyed your story of the cafe boat and hope that this year will be successful for you. Love and best wishes Pat and Peter xxx
Coffee machine, even though there is an inline filter there may have been a slight build up of ‘debris’ in the pump or if there is no ‘head of water’ as in domestic / commercial settings everything is at constant mains pressure.
That Procon branded brass water pump requires it be primed and lubricated by water. Running it dry can damage it quickly. These pumps are also used in carbonators for soda machines. Since you are pumping from a finite water supply, it would be subject to damage anytime it calls for the pump to run whole the water supply is empty. You may wish to “T” in an easily accessible bleed valve and a cut off switch to the pump to use when the coffee machine is not in use or attended.
Vic & Only Vic ! I’m seriously hopeful that this production is evidence of only tasteful editing & that you did NOT decline an invitation to “cuddle “ with one of the absolute finest ladies in the whole UK ! As you have proven yourself time after time to be quite intelligent I’m trusting you are keeping the British end up ! LoL ,continued best wishes, Mississippi Man.
Swans, beautiful but not the brightest of creatures. When working on the motorways in the South, we would regularly have to rescue them from the carriageway on wet days. It was thought they mistook the wet surface for a river from the air.
I enjoy greatly your vlogs! As an ex-pat, it is even better that you are now in the area near where I used to live half-a-century ago (Chellaston area)!
I'm envious as a parent, that you have youtube, to forever remember Michael's childhood.
Yous are literally living my Dream.! Please don’t (I know it’s testing at times) take it for granted.. I really like, but at the same time don’t, watching you both because as I say it’s my dream. Singlet ? Isn't that what girls wear . It's a vest if you're male .:-)
Just means sleeveless top doesn’t it? I’m sure they’re sold in sports shops (m/f) as singlets.
There are a lot less nicer things it could be called 😀
@@carliem9494 very true
We would call that a sleeveless Tshirt.
Oh I love the opening! You guys are special!
That intro was so professional. Keep it up the weather is getting warmer and you will be overwhelmed with punters. All your hard work will have paid off.
Watching those swans all I could think was -
OMG, the brain freeze would be INTENSE.
🙂🐿🌈❤️
One swan says to the other - "Just watch me get him over here for a laugh"
City slickers quit their jobs in TV to move onto a canal boat to.......erm, make TV. Great episode. Thanks guys. Cheers up a Monday afternoon.
Best cold open yet

'no reason to be afraid- ever' - love this!! So, dare to dream and your dreams will come true.
I couldn't help notice your stock was pretty much all Organic and Fair Trade I commend you for this, well done

Best clip ever! Waiting for summer and your smiley faces when you have clients!
Thank you for adding captions to Vic's mumbles.

The Swan was definately taking the p..s, but you're a hero for trying Vic.
Be lucky

Haha. Opening was genius. Just discovered your channel. Great work guys. 👏
That intro was epic 🥺🤣🤣
Love the intro.
:-D Thanks Calvin!
It appears that swans are much more graceful swimming than ice skating. Also, I’m glad you two have luck on your side.
Prayers do come true it can happen to you...

Killing it with the opening. Really. I wish I could buy coffee & say hello everyday. Cheers from New York!

A gem!
Love the videos and the story, hopefully spring will come along and get you busy with customers! Beautiful editing at the start, it shows off your TV show days for sure. Cant wait to see what is next!

Brilliant production👍
Yet another great vlog. You are a smashing couple and deserve great success with your venture. One day I hope to enjoy a coffee and slice of Jo's cake. Keep safe
Gremlins galore on Holly, it's always the way, come on guys, you gotta get it done now. The double mooring, good idea. Take care ❤
Another brilliant video. Can't wait to buy a brew or 2 off you

Throw salt in the woodstove while burning and it helps clean the deposit buildup in the chimney pipes!
Coffee machine, even though there is an inline filter there may have been a slight build up of ‘debris’ in the pump or if there is no ‘head of water’ as in domestic / commercial settings everything is at constant mains pressure.
Amazing start 👍👍👍
Love the sofa! Looks so comfortable!
Brilliant
Love your video
Awesome production guys. Love it.
Fab intro now. Wow. Love your honesty into such a mystical day of events. Great vlog.
Thank you
Swan song you know the routine Help i need somebody , not right now, we are keeping our cool. Youll get there spring is a coming see you on the cut xx
ice plug in the pipe hence no pressure /water flow through pump
Good Job Jo

"You're on the last leg"
"How long have you been waiting to say that"
😂😂 Such a dad joke, cracks me up
Congratulations Mr and Mrs Holly, loved the program.
Gawd! You two, two, two....so much beauty in the Canal.....!!XX Greetings from sunnyish Cornywall!!

LOVE the plastic bag reference. Jeremy Irons narrating the parody is next level.

When lockdowns over I’m heading east for one of those cans and a walk down the tow path
I wondered if you'd have seating inside; very smart!
