Hi from Victoria in Australia; we are into our 5th lockdown here, but given we moved last year from Tasmania, we are actually in our 8th lockdown. We have watched your journey from beginning to now. Love you energy and optimism; I wish we were over there supporting your efforts. I think you need an A Board to put out on the tow path to advertise your offerings. Yum. And we noticed you have swapped your engagement ring for wedding rings; do tell!!! Stay safe, loving watching you every night. Makes our lockdown go faster. Donna & Denis XX
New here. But wow, this is exactly the kind of couple you REALLY want to do well and be a success. They absolutely deserve it. Just so likeable. 🥰 love from Scotland 🏴
Jo / Vic, I am beginning to see a possible problem with the economic business model for the Holly Café that needs immediate attention. VIC IS EATING ALL THE PROFITS!!!!!!
You could do with some shelves on the bank side windows to display your cakes, maybe the shelves could be swappable from one side of the boat to the other. Your customers can see what's on offer and prices etc Just a thought ?
Those cakes oh so wonderful. I just hope you get to Braunston /top of the South Oxford sometime in mid May otherwise I'll just have to head up the Coventry until I find you. Jo you should consider writing a recipe book next winter. I'm sure it will sell like hot cakes!
Who washes and polish the pots, Spring has sprung, your utter delight. Protect your wonderments from flying critters, your from the north, off work cannot be delayed. cheers
Hi Jo, Vic, Loved this week's Vlog, it reminds me of a "fly-on-the-wall" Documentary, but without all the shouting. Love the way you both talk to each other, so nice. I hope you enjoyed your trip to the Post Office Jo. Enjoy you're cruise to the next destination. Take care both.
Enjoyed this busy vlog. An insight of behind the scenes running a successful cafe boat. Particularly liked the recreation of your wedding march down the isle. Reminded me of a very attractive, masked Nora Battye. Without the wrinkly stockings. 😉
Ohhhhhhhhh Jo I love your colour coordinated Mask sweater and hat ,looks so cute, almost as cute as that cake cutter but I think I'll wait for the electric cordless one to come out "grin* Happy Easter you two .Take care ,keep smiling .......its such a lovely smile Cheers
Loving catching up with what you have been doing. Jo, you really have a talent for baking, no wonder those cakes sell out so quickly. Keep up the good work.. 🍷🍷
Those were some quality pasture-raised eggs! Happy chickens - orange yolks! I've traveled in an RV for 10 years. It's always sad to leave but then I always wonder what awaits me at the next stop. Every stop has something special that the others don't. It's like living life on fast forward. You learn detachment.
Lots of excitement by the sound or it. Someone knocked off their bike. Air Ambulance landing close by. I never did work out who was injured! You are both doing so well with Holly. It’s going to be busy for you at Easter weekend. How kind of someone to give you eggs, considering how many you must use in those super looking cakes. Your fame is spreading far and wide, but it’s hard work for you Joanna. We could see you were almost asleep at the end. Best wishes to you both from Lionel and Mary xx
Coffee - doesn’t matter whether you are 7g or 16g portion the Tamping controls the amount of flavour. The heavier the tamping the longer the filtration flow, the stronger the flavour. Too heavy defeats the object because you do need flow. East African Arabica is floral & fruity with light acidity Central & South American will have Nut & Bakery aroma, should pair well. Asian Arabica & all robusta’s have a Pipe tobacco, spicy aroma. Intense & bitter with persistent aftertaste. First two if paired with plant based are better with Oat & Almond. Robusta better with Soy to enhance the aroma and aftertaste. Richness effected by length of roasting & grind from freezer I could be biased 🤣. I prefer the South American’s, higher altitudes, single estates. Each to his own. Love your RUclips’s.
Enjoyed this video. We are so far ahead of you now, might not see you again this year, especially if you go to Oxford. Maybe in the autumn! The lemon drizzle with Flax is an excellent idea!
Loving every episode and the new cake looks delicious! So worth staying up late on Fridays to catch up with what you've been up to. All the best, guys!
We used to run a village Post Office and Store. Hardest thing we ever did for the worst employer and it's getting harder all the time for the Postmasters. You're a lovely couple and I'm enjoying your channel. If you ever get down south with the boat I'll come along and buy a coffee and cake!
Looks like you two are finding a groove in the Cafe. Maybe some year I'll make it over the pond to the UK. We have another snow storm coming through. Already over an inch of new snow. Birds were dive bombing me saying it got cold again. More seeds. More seeds. I quickly spread more seeds. Enjoy your warm weather.
Hi guy, great work with the videos.. there is a grease to prevent glow plugs from seizing in the head, and it's best practice to change them with the engine hot. Good luck with Holly...
Typically I've found your channel just after you've moved on. I live at Mercia Marina and would of loved to try some cake. may have to pop down to Alrewas :)
Well done Vic, you all ways seem to put others first and your thought are so considerate. Zero should start easier in the cold. 2cups of flour, 3 eggs, 300mls of tomato sauce, should appear on the screen as Jo cooks?? Sorry for being a bit excited about you two. I can see Vic is really into his coffee, but more protein is called for. Take care.
Hi Next time use a thin magnet to see if there is any loose metal bits before cranking the engine. A dolly for transporting supplies for Holly. Are you allowed to put a open sign on Holly? 🤔
I would recommend getting the head removed and investigate where the broken glow plug has gone guys 🙏🏼 broken pieces of metal in your engine will most likely be catastrophic 😣. We love your channel guys 😊 hopefully you have some good luck 🤞
Wish my neighbours were as nice as yours, feel like I've forgot that they're nice people still out there. Are you having to move because you're not allowed to stay for a certain length of time? Is there a length of time you are allowed to return to the same area? Love watching your exciting lifes unfold. ...great couple Peace & love x
Would love to see an update bit about your power use and capacities - I can only imagine the coffee machine is an amp-eater. Do you manage enough charge time on solar only?
Always tighten glow plugs before you untighten them. Breaks the carbon in the head. You can get someone to remove the remaining bits. Search in car repairs
Great channel! Jo, have you considered assembling a collection of your favorite cake recipes and selling that as part of the "Holly Merch"? Also, how about doing a series of "Baking with Jo & Holly (& tasting with Vic)" video series? Cheers & Aloha!
Lovely vlog yum cake .my husband knocked a front tooth out but he not bothered at the moment cos of wearing the mask all the time like you say nobody see what's underneath 😂😂😂
Hi Joanne you should not taste the blueberry compot then dip the same spoon in and then give Vic a taste with the same spoon that is against the rules your suppose to use a different spoon every time love the vlogsxxx
Heading south? Your original plans were to head towards lake country. Did the bridge construction quash those plans? Good success on whatever path you take.
Gorse flowers have an amazing smell, but I've never found them particularly tasty. I tend to munch a couple as I pass a bush, just a bit of grazing, but they don't have a strong flavour.
Hi guys love your life 😘. I see on Zero you have a Rayburn Aga, I want to go gas free, is it any good, is it kerosene and if so can you get fuel easily. Sorry you are moving away from Nottingham but I hope to see you on the cut when my jobs are done. Keep it going Stan, Alison and Nutmeg 🐕
Are you going to have a temporary pop up gazebo style river bank seating area to eat you cakes and drink coffee. Is that outside eating possible where you are? Brilliantly made videos, if you are ever short of cash perhaps have a small have Avid will edit on the fly ad, though I know how time consuming that is (maybe sorting people's showreels?)
first off I love your channel and what your doing. I wish I could buy one of your cakes but by the time I got it I think it might be a bit on the stale side. (I'm on the other side of the pond.) Just a thought for Nick. you mentioned the coffee in the morning taste different and you think its because the beans are colder in the morning then they are during the rest of the day. So, why not try a little experiment. since you grind your own beans for your coffee maker. Why not measure out then umber of beans it takes to make a cup and refrigerate them or freeze them for an hour or two and find out if your theory is right. I know here at my home if I keep my coffee for my coffee maker in the fridge it always smells fresher and seems to taste better to. Also have you ever considered baking with goose eggs?
I had a friend gift me some homemade Apple 🍎🍏 Butter and on RUclips I found out you can also make 🍑 Peach Butter I used fresh peaches then remembered my dad had purchased frozen 5lb bags I used a slow cooker but graduated to a insta- pot pressure cooker & air fryer my friends love it I keep jars as gifts and thank yous. Just met you gifts. As I cook it down so much I use cling can peaches and the fresh frozen. You can't tell the difference. I use way less sugar than called for. I also get 4oz jars and make baby food before adding anything to the Apple or Peaches. I almost bought 10lbs of purple 🍇 grapes to make jelly. I held off to look over the instructions. It said at the end instead of capture of the juice from grapes and the mess that goes with. Get 100% Welches pure grape juice add 7 cups of sugar. I thought or for .99 cents buy the Grape Jelly and save all the time & money. I absolutely love the Butters you can do Banana but it turns rapidly. Only did it a few times. It's outstanding on oats it hot cereal and ice cream. I put some hot out of the pot. The 🍑 melts the ice cream. On your breads hope you try out making some. I jar it up last for 18 months. Your both great the perfect wife that lets her man act as if he's in charge in public... Lol great mom & dad I love in Corpus Christi, Tx and would love to travel the narrow chanel's in a N. Boat. Maybe I can make it happen I would do my best to look you up. God Bless
I know we've harrassed you about an A board for the bank. If you search on Facebook Marketplace in your area you can probably pick one up for getween nothing and £25..It depends how good your chalk writing is or if you just spray a white cup outline on a black blackboard paint. If I knew where you were I'd buy you one and send it to your PO box!
Hi Gonzo! Not really, we have the same 14 day/24H/48H rules, with the exception of being able to moor up a day either side of the 48H moorings. I guess this is so that roving traders can have time to set up/get a good spot.
That guy was lucky getting knocked off his bike by a Lordy...glad he is relatively ok.....how long do you stay in one place.....or do you have to move on regularly.....
7:28 Jo's face lights up at the mention of the Post Office......... She loves the Post Office!
Hello from stateside near the Erie Canal in New York. Hands up who thinks Jo should go on the Great British Bake Off 🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌🙌
Jo look of anticipation of a visit to the Post Office, priceless. 🤗

Jo / Vic, I am beginning to see a possible problem with the economic business model for the Holly Café that needs immediate attention. VIC IS EATING ALL THE PROFITS!!!!!!
I'm getting fatter just looking at those cakes! You two have a lot to answer for. Love your vlogs, they're brilliant.
You could do with some shelves on the bank side windows to display your cakes, maybe the shelves could be swappable from one side of the boat to the other. Your customers can see what's on offer and prices etc Just a thought ?
Haha. Love Vic’s “comings and goings” impromptu.😊❤️
Lol! I now hit the like before I've even looked at the video, I know I'm gonna love it 😀

Ever betterer - I have to memorize that one 😀
Those cakes oh so wonderful. I just hope you get to Braunston /top of the South Oxford sometime in mid May otherwise I'll just have to head up the Coventry until I find you. Jo you should consider writing a recipe book next winter. I'm sure it will sell like hot cakes!
Jo writing a recipe book sounds wonderful, Title "Tasty Treats by Jo!" She would look beautiful on the cover holding a cake in the Cafe apron!!
Who washes and polish the pots, Spring has sprung, your utter delight. Protect your wonderments from flying critters, your from the north, off work cannot be delayed. cheers

Would you do endings,I always expect there to be more after the ads! But love the content, all the best. :)
Great vlog...you two are so funny...
Hoping to run into you (not literally) on the Oxford this summer. Those cakes look fabulous.
Baby Moore hens(orange bill) and baby Coots (white bill) look like tiny puffs of smoke. Like the soot characters in My friend Totoro 🙂
Hi

Post Office Aholic, Not sure what the cure is. LOL
Made me think of "My Blueberry Nights" one of my favourite movies. Now you just have to recreate that kiss ;-)

miles is from chorlywood or chalfont
Just be careful using gifted/ non-traceable eggs in saleable cakes. I just know we couldn’t use them in the pub kitchens
The only information required is a post code and street number. However with most cooked food that is only a theoretical risk.
Non tracable eggs in a toddy is perhaps the risk to be avoided.
Lovely vlog yum cake .my husband knocked a front tooth out but he not bothered at the moment cos of wearing the mask all the time like you say nobody see what's underneath 😂😂😂
i would love to taste those cakes, you make me hungry lol
Love It .
:-D Thanks Peter!
You should give your vegetable scraps to the people who give you eggs for their chickens. 😊
Gorse flowers have an amazing smell, but I've never found them particularly tasty. I tend to munch a couple as I pass a bush, just a bit of grazing, but they don't have a strong flavour.
Is there a restaurant supply shop anywhere?
You need some better signage...Just a thought...
The blue eggs are really tasty.
Hi guys love your life 😘. I see on Zero you have a Rayburn Aga, I want to go gas free, is it any good, is it kerosene and if so can you get fuel easily. Sorry you are moving away from Nottingham but I hope to see you on the cut when my jobs are done.

You don't want bits of glow plug left in the bore, it will chew the piston, valves and liner up.
Jo coordinates jumper with mask :)

Vic how much would it cost to get on top of Hollies engine ???
Old fart here , Happy to see the business growing . like Mary Antoniett said " let them eat cake "guess she had the right idea but the wrong sentiment
for your lovely vegan drizzle cake, what did you use to replace eggs?
I had a friend gift me some homemade Apple 🍎🍏 Butter and on RUclips I found out you can also make 🍑 Peach Butter I used fresh peaches then remembered my dad had purchased frozen 5lb bags I used a slow cooker but graduated to a insta- pot pressure cooker & air fryer my friends love it I keep jars as gifts and thank yous. How can you build up a customer base when you continually move...or do you intend to do a circuit of locations.....
I know we've harrassed you about an A board for the bank. If you search on Facebook Marketplace in your area you can probably pick one up for getween nothing and £25..It depends how good your chalk writing is or if you just spray a white cup outline on a black blackboard paint. If I knew where you were I'd buy you one and send it to your PO box!
one problem- you are not allowed to obstruct the towpath! A sign on the roof facing backwards and forwards along the canal might be sensible.
Seems as though 'continuous cruisers' are generally sad to be moving on. The good news is you can take your home wherever you go.
Do you have different rules as a business, regarding 14day mooring and continuous crusing?
Hi Gonzo! Not really, we have the same 14 day/24H/48H rules, with the exception of being able to moor up a day either side of the 48H moorings. I guess this is so that roving traders can have time to set up/get a good spot.
Ooo what I’d do for a bit of that cake mmmmmm
That guy was lucky getting knocked off his bike by a Lordy...glad he is relatively ok.....how long do you stay in one place.....or do you have to move on regularly.....
Is zero finished?
