Great video, I wish you also mentioned Furyu’s Toonize line! They’re very unique figures designed to look like something out of a comic book (or something like that). They’re very affordable and great quality. Only issue is Furyu takes forever to make them and only designs new ones like once a year for popular series.
I love their BiCute Bunnies line. I don't buy Freeing Bunnies for their size, but for the characters. So having a cheaper alternative to them is always welcome. Some of them are even better than the Freeing version. Like Uzaki Tsuki, I like how her Bicute Version came out way more than the Freeing version. They also have characters that Freeing are not doing. Like the SAO girls.
I’ve bought multiple FuRyu figures over the last few months, Albedo/China Dress, Albedo/White Dress, Delta, and just got their Rem & Shera from you guys today. They look amazing, I did pay ¥44k for that White Dress Albedo, don’t know if it’s worth it as I haven’t unboxed her yet. I’m really looking forward to their Rose Dress Megumin coming soon, also have a few more preordered, Entoma, Matsuri, I think I have others I can’t remember.
Got my 1st bicute bunny a while ago, because I was dying for a bunny but all the FREEing bunnies I like have insane resale values. Its the rurudo Miku one and I literally love her so much. She's about the same height as my 1/6 scales and pop up parade Ls. I cant fuck with their scale prices though, I had two preordered and cancelled because I had a realisation I dont wanna pay $700 for two figures that arent even 1/4 lol (intl shipping)
I’ve only ever collected Goodsmile figures, which really comes down to the series I personally collect for only having good figures there, and while I mostly have nendoroids, I can attest to just how boring the pop up parade stands look. I have 5 and my two Ace Attorney ones specifically are just on black circles. I love the build quality, especially on newer figures(slightly older nendos have some issues with poseable arms that have largely gone away imo), but the pop up parade stands are so nothing.
They’re the only ones who made a figure of Mu from Caligula Effect (considering they’re also the ones that published that game too, it makes sense) and she’s held up pretty well
Tenitol's value isn't just in its basing. The knock-on consequence of investing in dynamic basing is that it allows dynamic posing, and posing is just as important as design when it comes to making a figure that pops. For example, most of the favourites in my collection are just noodle toppers, despite their relatively low quality, because they're figures you can display in completely different places to your standard standing figure. The interestingly-posed entries in the Tenitol line are also the ones I'm most interested in, I think the "hovering" base of the light/dark Miku duo easily adds 20-30% to the value of these figures.
I have the mint choco chip Miku figure and it’s my only figure so far. Right out of the box, she was leaning to the front. She couldn’t stand at the same angle as shown on the box. The base is lighter than the figure itself, so it had tendencies of falling off, which made the balancing problem worse. Maybe it was my fault though because I tried bending the ankle and I heard something snap within. From then on she couldn’t stand and was leaning forward too much.
I have the Furyu Miku noodle stopper and I like it. There's one small issue and that would be the twintails. They needed to be assembled onto figure. That's an issue for me in of itself but they don't stay on if you even so much as move it. I'll stick to gsc for now lol
I own their Roxy Migurdia figurine, and I have to say, when I first got the figure, I liked it. However, after getting the Kotobukiya Roxy figurine, I kinda started regretting spending money on the FuRyu one. It doesn't look as good as in the promotional pictures and is also more expensive than the much better-looking Kotobukiya one.
I only praise Furyu for a very specific reason as a collector and that's it, making actually affordable price Super Sonico figures in the early 2010's and nothing else. Super Sonico is a bizarre case in which you either find a misshapen bootleg of her in the market or a scale that costs over 600 grand so being able to grow my (shrine) collection without indebting myself has been a challenge but I would still had nothing if I hadn't found out Furyu had so many versions of her over the decades Most of my Sonicos are Furyu branded, they're beautiful, pretty sturdy, and the sculpt and paint job is pretty high quality for stuff that at most cost me like 25 dollars including the shipping, even the rarest ones were cheap straight from resellers, I'm very wary of that new TENITOL line they've tried to push lately, and it bothers me that they hadn't come up with anything new but recolors these last few years. But I look at my 30cm tall Bicute Bunnies sonico that became my dream figure for years when I started collecting and I'm happy, they got the manufacturing on their side, they just need new ideas. I hope they manage to at least go back to collaborate with more artists so they can finally turn around this weird slump they've been trapped in, if I see the same god damn Miku figure painted in yet another clashing color scheme, I'm going to barf...
Well as a Brasilian, i do have a LOT of Furyuu figures as they are the only ones a Brasilian can Afford. I have to say i have no complaints about the quality. (Unless you get some Chinese Bootleg version) So Yes go Furyuu
What I want is for figures to not cost a fuck-ton of money and ship to the US easily; and to make them invisible to people who aren't me so I don't die of embarassment
Honestly, I don't really care about all of this. Whichever company will make new Megurine Luka figures is the one that will get business from me, and I'm no small-time buyer when it comes to my favorite characters
FuRyu got the ONLY demi-fiend 😂 That figure is 10 years old and still the cleanest lines and box art in my collection. As for that tenitol devil miku, well i wish i didnt buy her. But her outfit was so cute.
Wow, pretty informative. The tone from the video and scripted dialogue made it seem like it would just be an ad for Furyu. Well done. My 02 cents on FurYu - They are aren't conquering the industry - I think they will be scaling down operations quite a bit moving forward in terms of their scale figures. I dont collect prize/tenitol so I wont comment on that. As the scale market is undergoing big shifts - everything bins, prices are crashing - furyu charges obscene prices with hit or miss quality, when chinese companies are slowly getting licenses and making cheaper figures with superior quality...idk, it doesnt bode well in my eyes.
Furyu isnt all that good per se but the prices is reasonable for the quality we receive so (ok maybe not that crazy amount lol). Imo though its a hit or miss, the sculpt faces I mean. I feel the same for PUP for the bases and sculpts, Ichigos and Uryu TYBW figures for example, I dont think Ichigo looks like Ichigo... I am looking foward ti their Tenitols though.
the thing that mainly turns me off about FuRyu is the way the noses are on their figures it just looks weird and pultruding from some angles, I'm also not a huge fan of their eyes to me it almost looks like they are stickers. if anyone has any weird things they noticed on FuRyu figure I'd love to hear them as well
Honestly, I think that no Trio Try It figure comes close to the quality of AMP+ so far. I think they more closely resemble the quality of the Coreful line.
furyu is doing justice to fate. Like seriously, from other companies only the most popular characters make it as figs. Furyu has sooo many characters, not saying the least popular ones, but still a whole lot of characters as prize figs/noodle stoppers. Like yes they have "popular" ones who already have figs (like jeanne d'arc or oberon) but also they are the ONLY brand which made a figure of Sei Shonagon, (assassin) Osakabehime, and so on. And by the way - those figures are CHEAP and are really good quality. I paid 25 bucks for my Sei, and the only problem so far is that she's very frail (her feet snapped from her leg, ez fix though). But still, some of them are.. questionable quality.. (look at altria pendragon summer furyu fig help)
I got the 2014 Sakura (CCS) prize figure which was eh okay for the price I got it at (was a bit cheaper then retail) but the face sculpt/paint I didnt particularly like (it looked off to me) I ended up selling her. The only FuRyu figure I still have is the Sakura (CCS) Space cadet costume which I actually really like and was well worth the price imo. For me as FuRyu grew I was at the point where the amount of space I had to display stuff wasnt as much anymore (I have over 250 figures displayed in my room as ive been collecting since 2008) and the stuff they got license for and did figures off werent in the limited af list of things that if they were to get made an release I would buy. If I was still buying figures regularly I still think Prize figures banpresto is the gold standard and cant go wrong with. For scales Kotobukiya, Megahouse (if theyre still around there gundam and digimon scales were amazing) and GSC. Also just GSC in general 99% of the time they will do an amazing job with any figure
I have 3 FuRyu(all F:Nex) figures, one is good(bakarina), one is ok(Anya) and one is kinda bad(Yor). I won't have bought that last one if any other company releases a proper assassin Yor scale but.... it is what it is. I waited for as long as I could to see if there are other announcement but alas. To be fair, this time around(for Yor), the actual figure is, IMO, a bit better than the picture. But it's still kinda bad so... meh...
Uhm...TAITO has their scale figures under Spiritale which is comparable to FuRyu's F:NEX. Also Trio-Try-It line is actually more comparable to GSC's PUP while TENITOL is competing with TAITO AMP (if we're going to compare more elaborate bases for mid-tier figures). FuRyu's Exceed Creative and Noodle Stopper lines are a direct response to SEGA's Luminasta and Perching figure lines. FuRyu is also notorious for having overly expensive pricing especially with their scale figures! Never preorder from them, just wait after release and watch prices go down (ex. Spy×Family, Albedo Chinese Dress, etc.) 😂
The biggest red flag for me is usually the price of their figures. FuRyu has some really good looking figures but a normal 1/7 scale isn't worth 30k+ yen what they charge for many of them.
Looking at my own collection, I have 5 from FuRyu,. especially love the Hoshiguma and Kanna Kamui one. I am really keen to own one of those 1/4 Kimono series by them one day. That said, their inconsistency with price point is my biggest gripe and I feel like 1) it deters people from taking them seriously and 2) their recent releases have really not matched the quality of their MSRP and it would further impact the PO-valuation of their future releases which would be a shame if some/all turned out great - they really need to price better. That said, with all you have mentioned, us as consumers are in the best position to benefit from the even more choices.
F:Nex is expensive. Too expensive. Most of the time the price tanks so myself I wouldn't preorder. But I have 2 F:Nex figures in my collection and i have to say the shading is simply beautiful. I'm sure it's true with most of the line. I have princess of the crystal shown in the video (also 1/8 gsc so i have a good comparison of how wonderful the shading is) and Levi's birthday edition. Both are really crazy. Can't recommend enough if you are a fan... and the figure is on sale. Even considering the inflation, without the tanking, like said before... overpriced... So to say I wouldn't say Furyu is hated in the community? Everybody knows about the price and all figures can have quality issues. I have their prizes and like above their scales and had no issue whatsoever. If you are a smart consumer you can win a lot with them when hunting on sales on amiami etc. I should state that both Levi and Princess were bought half price. Also they have some viral prizes like matcha Miku or villan noodle stopper. Yeah, when it comes to prizes most of my collection is still Taito but the few Furyus I have are really nice. Would recommend.
I bought a Furyu figure from their cheaper line (tenitol) it was a super sonico racer figure. i was genuinely surprised. no other non-scale figure around the price could even compare. it was better in terms of detail, quality and even had a really cute base. the only other options around the same price are pop up parades. but PUP have been getting kinda bad in quality over the last years, they look too damn static, boring poses, come with bland-ass bases, and the details arent that good. the tenitol line is priced around the same (maybe a bittt more pricey) but they are bigger, more vibrant colors, more dynamic poses and also come with much more detailed bases... the difference is that there are barely a few tenitol figures released so far, meanwhile PUP has characters from A LOT of video games and manga, but i hope that as time passes by tenitol line expands with its selection of figures because they really look pretty asf.
@@Blue-jd8zxBut just to be sure I understand, the word "scale" has nothing to do with it, right? It's just the label they got at random from the fandom.
Usually scale figures are actual fraction sizes of the character (common sizes being 1/7, 1/6, and the massive 1/4) and are listed as such. They're made to be bought as they are. Prizes, however, are not scaled this way (usually smaller than scales, exact scale unlisted) and originally were made to be won from claw machines. This is where the term prize comes from! They're often cheaper and lower quality (often $40-$80) whereas scales are higher quality and much more expensive (often $150-$300). Hope this helps!
I don't know about you, but I find Wave to be the best when it comes to scales. Furyu Tenitol of Beta looks like a different person as well and is an obvious rip-off of Sega Luminasta's Beta.
To be fair most anime IP holders pretty much say yes to anything if the company has at least some level of popularity...they just want to get more merch out there to make more money, quality is just an extra for them most of the time.
When it comes to bunny no one is beating freeing that is my own self Opinion on that matter. I own at least 3 of them yes was expensive but worth it every penny.

That said, with all you have mentioned, us as consumers are in the best position to benefit from the even more choices.
bunny noises
no comment bcause still prize fig category
So, was the title addressed? LOL
Nah. FuRyu won't be overtaking GSC anytime soon 😂 they'll keep being at odds with SEGA, TAITO, and BANDAI.
fuRyu has amazing figures but the prices are insane. i rather buy a shibuya scramble than a 1/4 scale that costs over 1.5k lol
ngl furyus fgures are okay??? its just sometimes they be overpricing most figures that look like prize figures its so horrible
Different from the demo photo is straight up lieing so I avoid them at all costs.
c: I got the ai one for £13
Newbie question: Why are they called "scales"? Aren't all figures scale figures? Even 1:1 figures.
We've actually explained that in our pricing difference video!
Scale figures are usually much better quality compared to prize or mass produced figures.
@@Blue-jd8zxBut just to be sure I understand, the word "scale" has nothing to do with it, right? It's just the label they got at random from the fandom.
@@kinglear6150 Maybe they call them "Scale" because those figures are so nice, so realistic, just smaller, like a scale version of the origin
LOL IS THAT RCANIME?
I don't know about you, but I find Wave to be the best when it comes to scales.
Furyu Tenitol of Beta looks like a different person as well and is an obvious rip-off of Sega Luminasta's Beta.
Tenitol is king.
They way overpriced a lot of their figures.
They will not copy Gentleman's figures tho 😂 if you know you knoe
did FuRyo get licensing permission to produce these? Yes? That means the IP owners greenlighted these projects, and continue to do so. mic drop.
To be fair most anime IP holders pretty much say yes to anything if the company has at least some level of popularity...they just want to get more merch out there to make more money, quality is just an extra for them most of the time.
They are so bad at making games tho😂😂
Cheap ofc 😂😂
Furyu does some terrible face modeling, don't like them
luminasta is the best cheap brand out there, no discussion
When it comes to bunny no one is beating freeing that is my own self Opinion on that matter. I own at least 3 of them yes was expensive but worth it every penny.
