You realize, it won’t be long before you buy the 450AW version 2. It has far better zippers. I have a feeling that new 350 will be a nice day bag, but not an actual travel bag. Getting on a plane, ‘everything’ has to go along with you and that 350 bag will be in your suitcase for day tripping. Keep us in the loop as to how well it hold up. 👍
Cheese on Everything (love that FB handle lol) I use the LP450AW loaded with strictly cameras and lenses and that goes in the overhead and a classic LP Omni Trekker bag for camera monitor, Zoom recorder, various mic systems, backup drives etc. That bag slips under the seat. Checked bag is a large duffle-bag style luggage with wheels that has my personal items ie clothing, plus tripods, cables, chargers etc. If I know I’ll need some lights, and stands, then that separate hard case gets checked. It’s a slim travel-friendly portable 3 light system with collapsible defusers, stands that collapse to under 20”. This is as small as I’ve been able to condense everything. It’s just small enough that I can carry on all the expensive gear and check the less expensive while dealing with moving all of it myself. Any more than this, it’s a different style of trip. Hahaha But there is no travelling now and may not be for a year or more. Damn! Time to kick back and finally clean up the office and toss out a lot of accumulate crap!! 👍🤣
@@GraphicMill I have the lowepro 450aw v1 as well for camera gigs. If I'm going to a shoot and need all my stuff that's the bag I would use. But I think in the future, I might just get the large camera cube for the pd travel line that converts it into basically a 450 with a little bit more space.
Cheese on Everything, I’ll have to check that bag out. What I do need is a smaller backpack for an afternoon trip. I have a Domke bag that works well but I don’t like an over the shoulder bag because you end up fighting with it all day long. I have the Think Tank belt and pouches for track side shoots or hiking and filming, I ‘love’ that system because your arms and hands are completely free, and you don’t have to take a backpack off to change a lens. It’s great for events as well. For camping or a day in a boat, I have the DryZone 200 which is waterproof. No matter how hard you try to keep a bag dry while boating, it never happens. So, I ended up getting that bag in an auction and it’s been really great for those sort of outings. 👍. I’ll check out the bag you have been mentioning.
I love mine. I agree on the cons you pointed out. Also, in case you didn't realize, the chest strap is adjustable and clips inside the seam on the edge of the shoulder strap just below where you clipped it in. It's tough to do though when you're moving.
I have this same bag and love it, but I agree completely on the straps being rather useless. The little attachments at the end of the zippers are also not strong enough and will come undone (and the little black circular clasps get lost easily). I also did wish it had come with more dividers to customize the interior, but once I outfitted it with ones from a previous Lowepro bag, I got it to work just how I wanted it :-) I haven't had a problem at all with the seams coming loose or undone, but I also don't stuff the bag to the limits. My system is LUMIX S, so it's a heavy/big camera and lenses, but this bag performs excellently in fitting everything and making it easy for me to access what I need quickly.
Got this bag on sale a few months ago. Enjoy most everything about it for every day use. I use a mindshift gear for going out for the sole purpose of photography. The Freeline is perfect though for every day use. And the price is right! I just couldn’t justify spending the money for the peak design or some of the other similar bags.
I have both the ProTactic AW450 version 1 and 2. Let's say that they're a Camry and this Freeline 350 is a Corolla. The build quality makes it look like they were made in a different factory altogether. Nice review but it makes me like my v2 450 even more.
These were gifted to all the creators at SONY's KANDO last year and was a big hit. I just ordered my second Freeline 350 today. Love the nonchalant camera bag aesthetic!
I am into backpacks because i cycle most places. The problem i find with these type (camera) backpacks is they are heavy to start off and then you put heavy stuff in. This is were they fail, the straps, cushioning and back ventilation is poor, I personally use foam beer holders for my lenses and camera cases in the backpack. Then use a comfortable back packs with a hard case. The ogio no drag is a motorbike case with a hard outer casing and you can basically drop it on the floor and it will not damage your camera gear. Plus it is designed for riding, so is very comfortable to wear for a long time, you can also throw it in your boot and it will protect your gear if it rolls around. It also takes a laptop. Well hate to be negative. But that is how i see it. Never had the urge to buy a camera backpack, and i own a lot of backpacks.
Peter Lindgren Nothing but the truth! Your content is a huge help! It’s not just the content it’s how you deliver it as well. Big fan I remember the first video I came across the 1000 sub balloon pop and I’m here for the 1 mill balloon pop! 💪 Thanks for the effort you put into everything from this Military RUclipsr.
I like LowePro bags, but the main thing I don't like about them is they are recognizable as bags that hold expensive camera equipment. I like the Manfrotto line of bags that don't look so inviting to thieves. I recently ordered the Manfrotto MB MA-BP-A1 Small Advanced Active backpack because my friend has one, likes it, it looks like a normal daypack, and it fits under an airline sea. I don't carry a lot of camera gear, so hopefully it will work for me, but as we all know, no bag is perfect.
I've had both the Protactic AW450 (for the majority of my gear) & the Protactic AW350 (for everyday use) for a couple of years. Can't fault either of them, although, as you said, you have to pick & choose carefully the gear you take with the smaller bag. I agree that the 450 is slightly too big for everyday use, however for a long trip it's perfect & the 350 goes empty, well filled with socks etc, in the suitcase & is brought out at the destination.
The bag that I use is a Peak Design. I have been really happy with it. However, it is a side opening bag which works well for the design, but I get a little nervous when I am in larger groups. I would prefer a bag that only opens from strap side, but I just was not finding something that I was happy with. Nice review. Thanks Peter! 👍👍👍
This actually looks like a near perfect bag. I noticed that have a “heather gray” option too, which looks awesome. I love smaller bags that are easier to carry. If we weren’t stuck at home for the foreseeable future, I’d order one right now!
It is super sleek and it sure is a great everyday bag! Light weight, perfect size, and makes me have the gear I need instead of the gear I "might need". You need to take a look when you get fo go out 🙌
Thanks for the review Peter! The bag looks great, but from functional point of view I don’t get the idea of the design of the insert. Looks like the gear would easily fall off from there when removing it from the bag. I changed my camera bag few months ago from Lowepro Viewpoint BP250AW to Douchebag’s Backpack with CIA camera insert and I have been very happy with it. It fits my essential gear perfectly while being lightweight and easy to transform into everyday bag by just removing the camera insert. I also consider the non-camera bag looks as a plus on a camera bag.
You should have a look at the Shimoda bag a bag that I will eventually get to replace my Lowepro sport back pack. My EDC is the Passport sling by Lowepro pack and by the way to have real relief on your back is clipping on your waist strap that really takes a load off
You are such an inspiration Peter. The way you shoot and edit the videos is just amazing. Hope to see more amazing content and videos from you. I have started my own channel. Hope to receive support from you all. We all love u peter ❤️
Excellent review, thanks! But, your last bag only lasted 2 and half years? WOW! I guess I must be lucky or like most things these days, they are not built to last. I have had my Lowe pro for 15 years now, its been absolutely everywhere in that time, from USA to Bali and Iceland. I would say it gets used around 50/60 days of every year on photography trips around my local area too and guess what? Not a fault, never let me down, nothing ever broken, nothing has ever come loose, all zips fine, nothing frayed, nothing wearing out. Only thing is it's a little small for carrying all my gear and a drone these days, but I guess after watching I will just have to stick with it, thanks!
It's an undercover bag right? It forces me to NOT bring everything with me at all times 😅. I can also update and say that it actually can fit the Macbook and ipad at the same time too!
Thanks for the review Peter. As always you are much appreciated. I am looking into a new Cam Bag since mine ripped up after all these years lol. Considering this bad boy as well now.
ive had a few bags, I don't carry that much & have a courier type bag ..the one I'm using at the moment was a cheap brand from e-bay that cost me £14.99 .it fits 2 cameras & lenses & a couple of spare lenses so works for me..
Still rocking my ProTactic 350 mark I for everyday use and I really do like it. It's getting a bit small however and I've been considering the 450 mkII for a while now... I really wish they made a size in between them, iike a 400.
It looks really nice, but the lack of zip around the back would drive me loopy! I appreciate it's good as a smaller bag though. I use the LowePro Protactic 450 AW II, it's an absolutely amazing bag and I've flown all over the world with it packed to the brim with cameras, it's really solid. I have quite a few other bags, though I think they might be outdated now, if that's at all possible. I need to invest in a new everyday bag as the 450 AW II is overkill for just RUclips.
I have got one and now using it for daily use. Tbh I am both pleased and a bit disappointed by what I got. First of all, I treat it also as a hiking bag ks I hike with my camera and lenses. I am disappointed by the overly tight water bottle side pockets. They are to slim for a water bottle or an aluminium tripod. But for daily use, I am very pleased. I am a design student which I have to bring a lot of colour pens and other kinds of stationary for class. So the space separator helps me to organize the stationary and my sketches, notebooks. Also, it can keep my model designs safe too. Overall, as a camera bag, it's a good one if you don't go out with a heavy tripod very often or just use a gorillapod. As a day bag, its fantastic for its spacious capacity and the customizable space organizers.
Well Peter, that was complete reverse sell for me. I did suspect that the Freeline was more a good looking bag than a functional one and quite frankly, I would be returning it to Lowepro is it has started fraying after a week's use. I think Loweoro was trying to piggyback on the success of the PD everyday backpackwith that one. My current favourite backpack is the venerable Lowepro Fastpack150 which I picked up for my last trip . Fully loaded it is the most comfortable backpack that I have ever used - much better than the Protactic for me. It is side opening only but also carries a laptop and a tablet easily and has great pockets with loads of space up top and under the flap. The 150 is the smallest size but there are two bigger sizes ( 250/350) in the range. Maybe you should also look at Lowepro's Flipside for a bag that is back opening. Function over form wins out every time although I did buy the PD sling 6L in the new blue colour ( not really a good bag but very nice to look at, ha,ha!)
Caselogic SLRC206. I used it about 6 or 7 years and it still in good condition and can fit 2 DSLR, 4 lens, 2 flash and laptop +chargers, battery and other little thing
Hey man I love the content you create and it honestly helped inspire me to create my own RUclips channel following my passion for film and finding an audience who loves it too. I've had nothing short of an amazing appreciation and enthusiasm for climbing that RUclips ladder and a larger portion of getting off the ground and going for it is due to you. Thank you.
I am still looking for the right camera back, but I think I am close to reaching a decision. So far I am leaning to Lowepro Flipside 500 AW II and ProTactic BB 450 AW II. Any Thoughts ?
I prefer bags with an open back....i don’t think that bag would work for me. I love my PGYTECH OneMo bag.....I love the green interior lol 😂 I have a thing for green. Nice job dude!
Rear open is crucial if it's a dedicated camera bag but for EDC side open I find is good for quick access. Obviously, itll be good to have both but that usually means the bag gets bigger.
I spent all day yesterday researching camera bags and when I finally come to a conclusion, you drop this video and make me second-guess my choice :D . Nevertheless, perfect timing and great video!! Edit: I'll end up going for the Lowepro Fastpack BP 250 AW II. doesn't look as nice but I think it will fit my needs better.
See my comment posted above - I have the smaller Fastpack 150 and I love it. I would have totally gone for the 250 but it didn't fit my frame as well. It's a really great bag for what you need.Even the smaller size holds an amazing amount and is really comfortable in use. I can honestly say I sometimes forgot I had it on while travelling! Oh, and the rain protection really works as I real life tested it out!
Yeah, this one has YKK zippers, not entirely sure about my old one but I think so! But I've been using it every single day so I totally get that the zippers break!
Peter Lindgren I’ve had a Jansport backpack for school for 5 years. Sometimes it carries 10 pounds, on trips it carriers 35+. It’s in perfect condition. Don’t know if future backpacks will ever live up to that standard...
Looks like a nice bag! Even if it looks kinda crammed ahah I just bought the Peak Design V2 30L (really wanted something that could carry camera gear as well as some clothes or other stuff)
Awesome, just as I suspected. I was going to buy this camera, but I needed one where I could carry all my stuff when I have to work, so I went for the protactic 450 II. Also, would love to see how the hell did you do those awesome projected-like OSD texts 😁
Hey! @Peter Lindgren I just ordered this bag not knowing you also reviewed it. Can you tell me - do you still use it? What are you'r thoughts about it now after 2 years of using it? Regards ^^
Me: I don't have time for youtube and need to focus on my work Also me: Ohhh yes, Peter got a new video! Let's see why he changed his backpack (even thought I just bought a dope one myself)
I don't know the name of my bag, I just know the sound it makes when I take something out. 🏝🌩 Seriously though, what's a good option to hold a gimbal as well? Better to have one smaller bag and one bigger, or just always keep it separate?
I bought this bag last summer in Japan, I sweating a lot during the summer. After a day use, the back of my white T-shirt turning black. The back panel material kind losing color
You are a great inspiration! To deliver the quality videos that you do and being self thought, is just incredible! But just to pick your nose a little... Any idea how many times you say "like" in the video? 😉
That bag is way over hyped. For its size, it doesn't carry enough clothes and it's not modular. For that price, get the peak design travel line. It's got way better features and modularity. EDC, travel, camera only, or a mix of everything, it does it all.
The things you didn't like we about the bag will annoy you over time. The Thurly brand is better quality and Swedish I think, but maybe not as good as Peak Designs for photographers. You deserve The best!!
Hi man! Amazing content. I was about to ask you a question. How do you feel it is to talk english on your channel? i have been doing some youtube videos in norwegian. But im planning to language switch-up to english. And im rly afraid it affect the quality of the video in some sort of way. Do you have any good advice for talking in a different language compare to your native? Thank you :)
PM's bag is very specific and only works for a weekend trip. Its neither here or there if you ask me. As a travel vlogger, and a photographer I wouldnt recommend his bag.

Yeah, that's why I said that it was a daily driver and not for bigger things 😊👍!
Will most likely buy the 450 II!
The pd travel line is way better on a plane if ur planning on one bag travel. I can fit all my clothes and camera gear in it for indefinite travel.

I love the shiny newness of bags but then I also love the broken in feel of an old bag... lol I just like bags
I have this same bag and love it, but I agree completely on the straps being rather useless. The little attachments at the end of the zippers are also not strong enough and will come undone (and the little black circular clasps get lost easily). I also did wish it had come with more dividers to customize the interior, but once I outfitted it with ones from a previous Lowepro bag, I got it to work just how I wanted it :-)

I like the Manfrotto line of bags that don't look so inviting to thieves. Thanks for the review Peter! The bag looks great, but from functional point of view I don’t get the idea of the design of the insert. Looks like the gear would easily fall off from there when removing it from the bag. Do you have an everyday carry bag for maybe a smaller setup? Instead of hauling around all your gear you just bring a few things?

Glad you enjoyed the video!
That looks so cool! :) THanks Bud! ;)
I have a 17, 5 inch laptop and its preaty thick are there any bags that can fit in? Thanks
No, I am pretty sure it won’t since it fits my 15” laptop just about.
Nice nice gona buy it for shure
can you fit a pair of shoes from the side?
Beautiful bag. Nice an organized
there is another way to route the straps thru the buckles. kindof a double back method.
How does it hold up after 1 year? Better then LowePro Protactic 450aw II ?
Thule Aspect DSLR Backpack , high quality
I use same like your old bad. Yeah it’s kinda bigger for daily use
It's a great bag for sure!
Definitely should consider something with a rear open
See my comment posted above - I have the smaller Fastpack 150 and I love it. I would have totally gone for the 250 but it didn't fit my frame as well. It's a really great bag for what you need.Even the smaller size holds an amazing amount and is really comfortable in use. I can honestly say I sometimes forgot I had it on while travelling! Oh, and the rain protection really works as I real life tested it out!
personally i opted to the Peak Design backpack 30L, for the 'every day' use, like it very much :
thx for your always great videos!!!
!
Do the zippers on either bag (new or old) say YKK? That would be a promising sign of quality
@@bruhdabones Haha that's dope!
I just love every time you use your Swedish accent... 😊 😊
Got that bag 1 month ago, it's a very good bag.
Looks like a nice bag! Even if it looks kinda crammed ahah
I just bought the Peak Design V2 30L (really wanted something that could carry camera gear as well as some clothes or other stuff)
Regards ^^
@3:36 the strap is fed wrong
Me: I don't have time for youtube and need to focus on my work
Also me: Ohhh yes, Peter got a new video! Let's see why he changed his backpack (even thought I just bought a dope one myself)
Hahaha! Glad you watched man 🙌
Is there space for a drone such as the DJI Spark or Mavic Air?
I don't know the name of my bag, I just know the sound it makes when I take something out. 🏝🌩
Seriously though, what's a good option to hold a gimbal as well? Better to have one smaller bag and one bigger, or just always keep it separate?
When it comes to straps use a C lock technique
How does this compare to the lowepro ballistic 350? That seems to me to be a better small bag?
Meant protactic 350
Just want to know which DSLR and lense do you use usually?
Links to the gear i use is In the description!
Good review 👍,
From Dominican Republic
What’s your opinion on the Peter Mckinnon bag pack?
Way too expensive, too little space. get the peak design travel line. did a video on it.
I bought this bag last summer in Japan, I sweating a lot during the summer. After a day use, the back of my white T-shirt turning black. The back panel material kind losing color
Hi Peter, what kind Duo charger you use?
Great video as per usual...if you wanted something smaller you should of went with the protactic 350.... It's great 👍
In the last video you talked about speed ramping so can 60 fps be enough for doing speed ramping
Yes of course!
great review!!
i have a peak design tarvel 45l big camra cube and a berg hans 95l bag with a big cube form peak
Love it!
Buddy this video is areal help love from Pakistan
Nice bag
great video and content 👍
Hi,
I am addicted to your youtube channel. So I bought a7iii and shoot with slog2.
I see light color in LCD display shows in blue. Is it normal?
Looks like the new bag holds much less, and is less durable. Do you miss the old bag? I use the AW 350 Tact version 1. It's still good.
Thank you making awesome videos, I have just started a New RUclips Channel and It has helped me so much on video editing.
You should get PM camera bag.
Useful and stylish much more.
Just saying. Peace.
ProTactic 450 mark ii og Freeline 350 er mine to første valg! Har flere, men alltid en av disse jeg bruker! :)
You are a great inspiration! To deliver the quality videos that you do and being self thought, is just incredible! But just to pick your nose a little... Any idea how many times you say "like" in the video? 😉
Thank you! I have no idea, but enough times for you to notice 😎.
Very good new one 👍
Sell for me your old bag, I'll fit it ! 😀
Kör med Peak Designs väskor. De är super 📸
you can tell that he asked them to sponsor the video but they said no, so straight away he decided to point out the cons lool
I never asked Lowepro for anything, I bought this bag because I enjoy their products! Theres always flaws with products though 😊
Man, I use Protactic 450 as well and knowing how the bag functions, I see this new bag is a downgrade more than anything!
I think you should have bought the Peter McKinnon X Nomatic Camera Bag.
Price difference was insane. This cost me 150$ and allows me to get a second bag too! But it sure looks like a good bag!
That bag is way over hyped. For its size, it doesn't carry enough clothes and it's not modular. For that price, get the peak design travel line. It's got way better features and modularity. EDC, travel, camera only, or a mix of everything, it does it all.
Hi Peter you miss the Durability Socre
That'll come when I've used it for a long while 😎
The things you didn't like we about the bag will annoy you over time. The Thurly brand is better quality and Swedish I think, but maybe not as good as Peak Designs for photographers. You deserve The best!!
Hmmm That’s a lot of negatives, but I’m sure LoPro will be in touch with a better bag for you ;)
Yeah, but it's also small negatives i think!
I miss daily vlogs a lot 😔😔😔
If I had more time I'd do them!
Good review. Unfortunately this looks like a downgrade from your last bag. Looks good, but not as sturdy/functional as other Lowepro packs.
You did not get the PM bag??? 😱😱😱
The PM bag is not meant for everyday carry, Peter also said this in his latest video...
This cost me 150$ so it was way cheaper for me since I wanted a more compact bag 😊👍
PM's bag is very specific and only works for a weekend trip. Its neither here or there if you ask me. As a travel vlogger, and a photographer I wouldnt recommend his bag.
Ooooaw
I want your old bag: "" "
for me it might be useful because I don't have a camera bag hhehehe
Man you get comments fast now lol
Can I have the old bag?
