Alex Mego's new film Rotpunkt is out and shows a different side of Alex from one you've seen before. He's open, vulnerable and always challenging himself. We caught up with him after the Kendal Mountain Film Festival for an exclusive chat.

Anyone else want that rotpunkt tshirt?!
And that hat!
I've been looking everywhere from it online, I thought it might be made by patagonia because they're his usual, but no 😢
Not really
@@marknewton6469 good for you
Alex seems like the coolest guy to just hang out with. Like as soon as you here he is going to be there, you instantly know you will have a good time.
Absolutely love watching him climb.
1:08 when he sits completely still and stares at you, he looks like a wax figure.
He looks stoned😅
@@johannmustermann2136 His mind has transcended his body and he stares directly into our soul.
Saw this documentary about a month ago, such a good watch!
1:08 Alex forgot to turn on "Human Mode"...
Alex Megos, the epitome of modesty!!! 🔥🔥🔥
3:16 This is hypnotic
5:38 I *accidentally* became a professional climber
because he onsightet 9a without really planning it before and overnight he was famous
Happens to all of us
@@tobiasbrunner4720 Hasn't happened to me yet but I've only been climbing for four decades.
oups
Someone could twist my arm and I'd still say that Alex Megos deserves to get invited to Legends Only competitions! Is he still the only one to accidentally onsite 14d?!
Haven't watched it all yet, but just had to comment that the transition through the Roktpunkt logo about 1 min in was 💥🔥🔥
The worst part of EpicTV is that they don't release a video every single day.
Best of luck in the Olympics
When is he going to try silence?
What is that project that he has spent the most time in the movie and hasn't sent? Looks like its in Ceuse.
Now you know...
6:30 Hahaha, I know the feeling.
what Patagonia pullover was Megos wearing? does anyone know?
He's wearing an older version of the R1 Fleece Pullover Hoody www.patagonia.com/product/mens-r1-regulator-fleece-pullover-hoody/40069.html?dwvar_40069_color=FRE&cgid=mens-fleece-technical#tile-3=&start=1&sz=24
Nope, I think it will be a new garment for Patagonia! I've already seen this pullover worn by Tommy Caldwell on a pic on Instagram. It's a new pullover with capilene and it will probably be on sale in spring collection but more realistically in fall 2020. And I'm quite interested too!
Thanks. I have an old version of the R1 that I absolutely love, and in dawn wall, Tommy Caldwell wears the exact same one. But this new one has z striped insulation so it’s different in some way.
Where do we get his hat?!
ZIS IS NOT A HOOMAN, ZIS IS A GÖRMÄN MASCHINE!
Last time he said "You have two options, you can either get stronger, or, wait that's the only option, and I was expecting him to say "you have one option, get stronger. Oh wait, your genetics don't allow you to get as strong as I am, so you are out of options." this time.
I was at BoulderUK tonight and checked out Alex's problem on the beastmaker board... Doubt he'll be paying out soon unless anyone likes spanny pinches with shit feet 😅
I think I´ll have to buy this nice irange jacket :)
Is there a channel like this in America?
Curious as to how he accidentally became a professional climber 🤔
First
Watched the film because Alex has always come across as quite a cool guy who doesn't take himself too seriously. Unfortunately the movie makes him look like a just another self-centred, petulant "pro" climber.
They shouldn't have edited out the segment where he was saving children in Calcutta and put an end to war in the Middle East. I guess they needed the time for his wobbler on Jumbo Love instead.
Bad news, buddy, everybody who is exceptionally good at something is very serious about what they do. They might have a lighthearted personality in general, but they aren't lighthearted when they are trying to progress in their lives.
did they already make a second part? i watched first one and didn't notice a thing you just said...
Alex is a chill guy, but when you're trying to be the best in the world the pressure is literally on a different level. Showing him responding in a human way to that environment is something that I would love to see more of from the professional climbing community. Maybe that's just me
