I was worried for a couple of years there, especially Eraser. But he's come out of it and I'm just so glad he did. He's seemed to get right what so much of the music industry doesn't.
@@JamesKovacic eh, it happens to everyone. I agree his earlier stuff was better but some of the B side tracks are still reminiscent of the old days. He's rich enough to be able to do whatever tf he pleases in the future, maybe old Ed will come out again :D
@@stacey738 Well he did say the next album was probably going to be what would push him away from the spotlight, meaning he was going to do it for himself rather than the records, or doing something people wouldn't expect (something like that), of course that was back when divide came out, so who knows what he would do, but Ed is now in a position to do whatever he wants with his music, he has nothing left to proof, divide was the commercial project and brought him lots of achievements and milestones, he has no need for another divide.
I think the opposite... it annoyed me how he would ask 3 or 4 questions in one go. For example from 12:56. Any good interviewer knows to ask “how did you feel?” rather than, “did you feel like this or this?”
@@IndigoHeartsBlue interesting perspective. I'd like to think that he was trying to frame the question narrower so Sheeran understands more precisely and can offer better answers. You could see in 12:56 that there was a pause after the initial question. I'm guessing James sensed that Sheeran didn't quite get the question so he elaborated more. It's a tough balance to find tbh. Overall, I think he did really well.
He's actively listening, good paraphrasing while still being engaged, he's relaxed, he asks questions and gives some examples to make his questions clearer. Like the questions about hurdles etc. No interviewer can be perfect, they're human. But this is a pretty good interview in comparison to some of the muck, fake, interrupting, contradicting interviews we see a lot of nowadays

@teddyistheonlyone : I was listening to a really good Interview with Ed Sheeran . About finding peace at the top of the music industry . Ed talks about his earlier years and the and sruggles with trying to work your way up the latter and remain genuine with that kind of life changes you. And not all ways in a positive light , problems start to make things worse for me ..I started having anxiety issues like social anxiety in small places but fine in concert venues he did well ..Ed figured out he wasn't eating healthy enough.and not exercising and not enough sun light so his wife helped with getting him started And Ed gave up most of his partying ways to get healthier which seemed to help back then ..He talked honestly about his struggles with anxiety and mental health issues and what makes Ed happy took up a hobby in painting 🖼 and he loves doing this it's relaxing and beautiful .. The Hay House Tour and any final thoughts was to change his old habits and start to fix him self ..This was a very open interview and Ed answered them truthfully and all of this interview is on film on I Tunes now 👌 Always Yours Laura @ God Bless You Ed 🙏 😊
It is refreshing to see a respectful interview that allows a public figure to show diversity in respect to their public persona, be vulnerable and allow to finish off how they wish to. One of Ed's traits that I have admired is his strong sense of self and I think that is what keeps him grounded and true to his path. This coupled with empathy and the gift of storytelling is what makes his music authentic - he won't be a flash in the pan. If I could give a title to his biography it would be, "Unapologetically Ed" lol Thank you for the fantastic interview and insights to wisdom.
Ed’s been such an inspiration to me, not only as a musician, but as a human being. His genuine kindness and how down to earth he is in the transparency in this interview speaks volumes of his character and it’s even reflected in his music. Can’t say enough about the man. Wish you nothing but the best Ed, thank you for everything.
I have been a fan of Ed’s voice since 2009, I have seen many interviews but never one that was so candid and where Ed truly opened up and shared such sensitive and personal things. This interview makes me appreciate him even more. Must be honest, the part where he explained he sometimes feels like people (fans) might be mean or just...too much made me feel a bit sad but just because as a fan I would never want to make him feel that way... I wish just for him to know many of his fans look at him like a friend who is able to voice thoughts and emotions into music that simply makes us feel better. I wish him all the best, I wish for him to carry on with his music because he helps many and I wish he’s happy just the way he is.

I think Ed is really inspirational in the sense that, ok like everyone goes through mental health problems including celebrities as big as him but he is one if the only people but few people actually are willing to talk about it and that's great, especially with the whole stigma about male mental health
To all the sheerios I would like to share a thought. I feel like we all are obsessed with him is because we all have certain good qualities in us too that reflects a part of us in him. We all love Ed Sheeran.
He is actually has a very well balanced personality. Very honnest and not fake. I spent a good time listening to him. The only positive i would say about fame is you can choose a nice place to composte your music, because as far as i am concerned the neighborhood is not ideal for me trying to compose something ^^
I loved seeing Ed become increasingly more comfortable throughout the interview actually being talked to like a human and having a conversation about things that are real. So cool
This was a fantastic interview. I can’t stand when I watch an interview with someone I follow like Ed or a pro athlete and I can answer a question before the actual person does because the question has already been answered 1 million times. This was an interview that truly taught me more about Ed. It was thoughtful and insightful. I loved all of this video. Great advice by Ed, great questions presented.
This is one of the most sincere interviews I've ever seen. It's amazing how the questions are all unique and not the typical "we already know the answer" ones, and how the interviewer just lets Ed go on his train of thought and finish it without rushing or interrupting him.
*This Man is an inspiration to all of us. And to that insecured child who has been challenged in a way with a storyline. I thought he was a spoiled kid and was not reached by his actions. Completely a turnaround on his own individuality and had been disclosed as a truthful romantic man. I love the real Ed Sheeran...and gives me shivers...*
Ed I know you won't read this but I just want to say that you still reach people in the age of 16 or even younger. Your music is incredible and it helps me getting through my life. You are a great artist who doesn't need any publicity or social media to stay great. I just want to say thanks
Omg thank you so much for this! I really love how Ed is so down to earth and always tries to help people in every possible way even when he’s on break and wants to be out of social medias..! He’s an angel and should be protected at all costs 🤍
Ed has DEFINITELY helped me become a happier person. His songs are just soooo iconic and there's a song for every emotion I would be feeling. He inspired me to play the guitar, rap, AND DRINK TEA GODDAMIT (like, for real!!). Knowing he's with Cherry and living a peaceful and healthy lifestyle made basically every Sheerio happy.
Ed, people don't judge your artwork because it's something you sell. It's in our nature. I was diagnosed with a disorder of a psychotic nature and only when I realised I have feelings of so, so many people that I initially identify as my own I felt free. No medication or self-medication can ever replace it.
Ed Sheehan is a treasure of a man. His honesty and integrity has become a luxury to this world we live in. I hope to someone like Ed I would really treasure and cherish that friendship. He is authentic. Thank you Ed for being who you are. If I was to write a song you would be the perfect one I would be writing about.
Ed Sheeran has definitely been one of my first idol while growing up! The fact of hearing his thoughts about his career in this interview was so inspiring to encourage me pursue my dream of becoming a musical artist! ❤️🎵🎹

I have to admit I’ve never really been a massive fan of Ed Sheeran either musically or personally but this is a fantastic interview that’s really changed my perception of him and how he sees the world. Seems like a really genuine and thoughtful guy and ironically I agree with him on so much of what he’s said in these 40 minutes. Great stuff 🙏🏻

So excited for this summit and very happy that Ed has shared such a heartfelt interview. I've seen Chasing the Present at an online screening and its such a great film. Thank you Ed for being so authentic, it really resonates when the famous personalities (throughout this whole summit) really are honest!
It's so important to remember that stars like Ed Sheeran are just human beings like you and me. Especially succesful people struggle with the feeling of never being enough and never having enough. This is why I think it's even more important to talk about mental health.
SO grateful Ed didn’t give up on what he loved. Just imagine those who have given up that we are missing out on right now...you are an awesome example Ed!
Great interview. They did not talk over each other, the interviewer asked some relevant questions, everything was running smoothly. You can tell the interviewer was actually listening and not only asking a question and thinking about the next one like a lot of people do in these interviews. You could feel the connection between these two and it was very satisfying to listen to. Well done.
ed, no matter how old you are, i will always look up to you and find a sense of comfort in your music, or in just the fact that you're okay and doing good with your life. your music was seriously all i needed in times when i didn't feel like myself back in 2015. little did i know you were going through something just like i was. - a 15 year old
"I think creativity is an amazing thing to make people happy because you, basically, can achieve something without ... trying - you just kinda' like do it, and it's fun." - Ed Sheeran
So many gems of wisdom from a huge star who doesn’t worship fame. I guess Ed means happiness is all about the journey, not the destination. Incredible when he said he learned more from a gig in Exeter with one person than sell out stadiums at Wembley.
Great ending advice...taking care of your health. Creative outlets. Limit social media. I'm a health coach assisting people into a plant based or vegan lifestyle. You are a real treasure Ed. Your music is the best!
This is the best interview with Ed Sheeran. The interviewer asked Ed the most meaningful questions and let him talk. For me, Ed is the most beautiful, amazing and inspiring person. He inspires me to make creative things ( I love making Ed Sheeran and Taylor Swift inspired bracelets and lyric bookmarks with the lyrics of my favorite artists- Ed and Taylor. I post all these on my IG account ), to exercise, eat well, go for walks in the nature. Ed and Taylor will be my favorite artists forever ♥️♥️
I hope you are well! I wanted to pass along that our full film has launched today. It would mean so much if you have the chance to watch and let us know what you think. We hope to keep the conversation going! Chasing the present film
Songwriting is definitely a form of therapy. Writing a song clears your head, it helps you cope with a situation, it lets you process an experience. This is one important aspect of having a creative outlet that sober, bureaucratic governments will never understand. They still see art as some hobby, as something silly. I wish more people would acknowledge the deep healing powers art and self-expression have. It also gives people a sense of purpose and self-worth because there's nothing more rewarding than making something authentic out of nothing. I believe that investing more in the creative aspirations of people will wildly benefit the overall (mental) health of a society.
Thank you Sooooo much for this interview 💗 We all miss him Sooooo much and during this horrible pandemic moment I really appreciated that he is off work and safe with his family💗 He has always been the best singer and artist cause of his kindness and what he did to help people around him🥰
I love his music, had the feeling he is a nice person and it is proved with this interview, it just like a normal conversation. Wish him and his family the best, hope he creates a lot more. Love from Colombia

It gives me goosebumps that the man I learned about 90% of what I know about being an artist from says he needs something other than music to make him happy now. I mean, he genuinely seems more grounded and well that ever, but seeing all this ambition and passion he had in him for his work leading to needing to step away from it? Maybe I'm overly dramatic hear, but damn, that hit me.
Very personal this interview. I Really liked the respect given here between to people's sharing their feels and experience. Beleive there is rythem-vibrations in nature that connect all living and and non living things. Probably very beneficial to stay connected. Keep living your best lives we only get one.
I love Hay's ideas and thinking. Been reading it for years and years. It's nice that Ed finds some peace of mind. If by any weird chance you read this Ed, I just want to say thank you. Your songs gave ME peace of mind, and helps me in chalanging times. 💜
SUCH a great interview. Felt so organic and I'm so happy with how sensitive and considerate the interviewer was throughout with each question. I also noticed Ed feel a lot more comfortable by the end of it, which felt even nicer. So good 😋❣️
This entire interview echos my own sentiments almost word-for-word. I sit here as a musician who didn't get there, I didn't have the success Ed has had and I didn't have the luck but it just goes to show that no matter what you do and no matter who you are, you're not excluded from life's pitfalls. To me, it's having meaningful, close relationships with other human beings that brings the most happiness and sadly, that seems to be getting lost somewhere in the modern world, people are far more interested in growing their Instagram than they are in having a conversation with an actual person. Having lived in London the past 9 years, making long term true friendships here has been by far the biggest challenge. Thankfully, I still have my best buds from back home who are now dotted around the country and I wouldn't change them for anything.
@@shunai935 Yes and no, I still teach guitar and gig sometimes, that's how I make my living, I also have a RUclips channel. However, there are so many things that factor into being what we call successful and the vast majority of them are outside of our control. Health conditions, whether we end up being in the right place at the right time, familial support, age, looks, timing etc. Why do you ask?
I love his saying, you learn from your failures!! It took me time but i’ve learned to learn from my failures instead of seeing Them as mistakes and bad choices!! But he could just do it from the start??? Smart man!
This was sooooo good. And people dealing with mental issues should watch it... This felt like both parts were coming from the right mind. Interviewer was interested in letting the humanity out of Ed, and Ed was willing to navigate that.

Thank you for the kind words. We greatly appreciate you watching.
Hi Ryan! Chasing the Present is out today- I hope you tune in. Let us know what you think@chasingthepresentfilm

This is one of the most sincere interviews I've ever seen. It's amazing how the questions are all unique and not the typical "we already know the answer" ones, and how the interviewer just lets Ed go on his train of thought and finish it without rushing or interrupting him.
Hope you get a chance to watch the full film out now on Apple Itunes! Chasing the Present on itunes. Let us know what you think!
His attitude just makes me love his music so much more.

Superthankful...sa imu ed.
Thank you for being so honest, it helps a lot
Ed I know you won't read this but I just want to say that you still reach people in the age of 16 or even younger. Your music is incredible and it helps me getting through my life. You are a great artist who doesn't need any publicity or social media to stay great. I just want to say thanks
Incredible interview. Love how candid he is about his low points and putting things into perspective. Such a great dude.
Thanks for watching Sparkles1331. We appreciate your support.
Omg thank you so much for this! I really love how Ed is so down to earth and always tries to help people in every possible way even when he’s on break and wants to be out of social medias..! He’s an angel and should be protected at all costs 🤍

Hi Serena! Hope you are able to watch Chasing the Present film. Its out today!
He is very switched on and a really down to earth guy. He deserves everything he has earned. Plus, I was born in Suffolk too so big up Suffolk haha
the film is available today on itunes! hope you get to watch it!
I love how Ed is interested in interviewer's story too and having a conversation with him about his opinions and experience.
Hi Tani - you can hear more about Jame's experiences in Chasing the Present. The film is out now worldwide. We hope you tune in!
Every time I'm slowing down with my music, Ed Sheeran boost me up.
Wanted to let you know that the full film is out now. We hope you are able to tune in and let us know what you think!
He is such a genuine guy!! I too am glad he hasn’t been destroyed by the music industry . He’s smart about all that, I think. Love you Ed!!💕🥇
Ed, people don't judge your artwork because it's something you sell. It's in our nature.
I was diagnosed with a disorder of a psychotic nature and only when I realised I have feelings of so, so many people that I initially identify as my own I felt free. No medication or self-medication can ever replace it.
Chasing the Present is out on iTunes. Hope you can watch it and let us know what you thing on insta!
Hope you get to watch our movie Chasing the Present is out now on iTunes. Let us know what you think on insta!
As someone who has panic attacks and generalized anxiety this was awesome 👏
Ed Sheeran has definitely been one of my first idol while growing up! The fact of hearing his thoughts about his career in this interview was so inspiring to encourage me pursue my dream of becoming a musical artist! ❤️🎵🎹

Sigue adelante!
Hope this is the correct translation! :)

Hi Yemurai - We hope you are able to see Chasing the Present film. It is out today Oct 1 to stream!

We love you guys! Thanks for the support.
It's so important to remember that stars like Ed Sheeran are just human beings like you and me. Especially succesful people struggle with the feeling of never being enough and never having enough. This is why I think it's even more important to talk about mental health.
Hope you get a chance to watch the full film out now on Apple Itunes! Chasing the Present on itunes. Let us know what you think!
What “radiates” and what “drains”? Sage advice. Thank you, Ed 🥰
My intake too, loved it!

Yes those are lyrics of his song : " Save Myself"
30:00
SO grateful Ed didn’t give up on what he loved. Just imagine those who have given up that we are missing out on right now...you are an awesome example Ed!
Hi Scott- I hope you are able to tune into the movie, out now on iTunes! Chasing the Present
Well done.
Thanks for watching and your nice comments.
Hope you get a chance to watch the full film out now on Apple Itunes! Chasing the Present on itunes. Let us know what you think!
ed, no matter how old you are, i will always look up to you and find a sense of comfort in your music, or in just the fact that you're okay and doing good with your life. your music was seriously all i needed in times when i didn't feel like myself back in 2015. little did i know you were going through something just like i was.
- a 15 year old
"I think creativity is an amazing thing to make people happy because you, basically, can achieve something without ... trying - you just kinda' like do it, and it's fun." - Ed Sheeran
Not even ten minutes in and Ed offers to give the interviewer food. Just another reason why he's awesome.
Hi Lisa!! Hope you get a chance to watch the full film out now on Apple Itunes! Chasing the Present on itunes. Let us know what you think!
I wanted to let you know that Chasing the Present is out now on Itunes! Hope you are able to watch!
Ed is so down to earth, so humble.
He’s genuinely an awesome person.
So so glad you took something from the talk! The full movie is out today - hope you have the chance to watch it!
This man is the reason I picked up a guitar and started writing music.
Get some covers up mate, you've got my support!!
Honestly... Me too! We're lucky to have him
I hope you are well!

We all miss him Sooooo much and during this horrible pandemic moment I really appreciated that he is off work and safe with his family💗
He has always been the best singer and artist cause of his kindness and what he did to help people around him🥰

Ed interviews all get me through and I come out so much better 💜
Beautiful
It gives me goosebumps that the man I learned about 90% of what I know about being an artist from says he needs something other than music to make him happy now. I mean, he genuinely seems more grounded and well that ever, but seeing all this ambition and passion he had in him for his work leading to needing to step away from it? Maybe I'm overly dramatic hear, but damn, that hit me.
Hi Alocada - wanted to let you know Chasing the Present film is out now on Apple Itunes! Hope you watch it and let us know what you think!
Very personal this interview. I Really liked the respect given here between to people's sharing their feels and experience. Beleive there is rythem-vibrations in nature that connect all living and and non living things. Probably very beneficial to stay connected. Keep living your best lives we only get one.
good chat!

So good 😋❣️
Hope you get a chance to watch the full film out now on Apple Itunes! Chasing the Present on itunes. Let us know what you think!
Aaron... Why are you talking in the past? Did you give up on your dream of being a musician?
@@shunai935 Yes and no, I still teach guitar and gig sometimes, that's how I make my living, I also have a RUclips channel. However, there are so many things that factor into being what we call successful and the vast majority of them are outside of our control. Health conditions, whether we end up being in the right place at the right time, familial support, age, looks, timing etc. Why do you ask?
I love his saying, you learn from your failures!! It took me time but i’ve learned to learn from my failures instead of seeing Them as mistakes and bad choices!! But he could just do it from the start??? Smart man!
Wanted to let you know that the full film is out now. We hope you are able to tune in and let us know what you think!
very insightful guy, and great relaxed and honest interview
GREAT GUEST, GREAT INTERVIEWER.....LOTS OF LOVE
Thank you Josh!
4:30 when he states he learnt more when only one person came to his gig in Exeter. I wish he would of explained what that experience taught him
Roubin - just reaching out to say that the film Chasing the Present to stream. We hope you tune in and let us know what you think of the work.
Chasing the Present is out on iTunes. Hope you can watch it and let us know what you thing on insta!
This was sooooo good. And people dealing with mental issues should watch it... This felt like both parts were coming from the right mind. Interviewer was interested in letting the humanity out of Ed, and Ed was willing to navigate that.
Hope you get a chance to watch the full film out now on Apple Itunes! Chasing the Present on itunes. Let us know what you think!
