Elder Bednar: Tithing isn't about money. Your earnings aren't yours - it's from God.

  • Elder Bednar teaches new members in Peru about the principle of tithing.
    Concepts include:
    1. Tithing is not about money - it is about faith.
    2. Your earnings aren't yours - they are from God. Tithing simply gives God back a portion of what you have been given.
    3. Even poor people should make paying tithing a priority.

He forgot the part about you have to pay tithing (along with the many, many, many, many, many other mormon commandments) to qualify to enter the temple where you will be expected to make vows of which you have no prior knowledge, one of which will be a promise to consecrate everything else you have to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The way this church applies the law of tithing is completely non-biblical. And they teach if you don't do these things you won't earn the right to be in the part of Heaven where God the Father and Jesus are, nor will you be able to see your more righteous family members again. Members are also expected to always obey and never criticize the elders even if what they say is wrong, or even illegal, or is just lying for the Lord.

so utterly insane and wicked for them to say we cant even critisize them even if they are doing illegal things! really nauseating I can't believe just this year I've started to really find evidential b.s. of the church I won't go in the temple again only for family purposes but I will not sit in that room, chant and do rituals and expect to take things seriously..

This is what the church actually does with a lot of members tithing.

tithing obligations are for Jewish, Christians are not oblige for tithes, however members should set aside some money every first day of the week for their Pastors like what Apostol Paul did to 1 Cor. 16:2, according to their joyful act so that Pastors can survive and continue preaching and teaching the Gospel.. that means, tithing is for the Levites and joyful giving are for Pastors.

Wouldn't all your sins be his fault as well then? Or does agency only exist when you want to do "evil"? You don't own anything, but God just said you get to have(own) the 90%... if it's already his, why does it have to be "given to him" does he not already possess it? Or does an all powerful being not have the power to hold what is his?

Before I didn't want to pay tithing or when I was younger I just paid it every now and then and just paid what I want it to. But now that I'm older now it's even in the Bible Angie's even taught the importance of giving and not being foolish with money. Every time when I get my paycheck deposited into my bank account the first thing I do is go online and pay my tithing we're before I paid it on a money order and gave it to the bishop or counselors with that envelope. I'm happy to say now that I've seen Miracles and blessings come from tithing and giving.

Tithing is not a Biblical requirement for Christians, free will offerings and gifts are to be given with a cheerful heart, according to New Testament teaching.
In Mormonism, a proven history of tithing exclusively to the LDS church/corporation (it is both) is a absolute prerequisite for a 'Temple recommend', and it's claimed benefits, ie, 'worthiness', Eternal marriage status, priesthood status and exaltation to personal God hood etc.
All such Temple works are done in strict obedience and devotion to the teachings and dictates of one man , Joseph Smith, the church's founder.
Please read and trust the Holy Bible as God's complete and finished revelation to all mankind through all the ages, (Mormons don't unfortunately).

Blessings is such a nebulous term. You can never get them to nail down exactly what blessings you will receive. It's always "he'll bless you in the way that you need to be blessed." In other words, invest, then since you feel an investment and commitment the next good thing that happens you will interpret as a blessing from your sacrifice. Blessings, let's just call them what they really are: Bullshit.

    • @later4524
      @later4524 3 года назад

@acronen The reason you never hear what specific blessings you'll receive is because it depends on the person. The Lord's word (as found in Malachi 3:10) is the "Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it." Therefore, the blessing you receive is what the Lord knows you need and is far beyond what you give up. I expect what you would need is different from my needs, or the needs of your/my neighbor next door. The Lord is not limited by what we perceive as possibilities, and truly can you quantify what miracles could take place.
If you've never paid tithing then you don't know that blessings won't come; prove the Lord and THEN make your judgement. As one who has experience in paying tithing, I have seen miracles that could have only come from God. I'm not rich, but I've always been blessed - to make enough and to have what I NEED. And even if you don't trust the Lord to give you a blessing, why do you care if others are willing to trust Him?

The truth in spirit flows eternally forward the body lies to the spirit and it flows eternally reverse/revere from truth, those who are stuck in the material plain will live Revelation and those who follow after the spirit find truth, what Jesus did was healed the spirit and the body. Those who seek the end in Revelations will find it and those who seek the truth in the beginning will find the veil leaving their eyes. Judgement comes to only those who judge, you have your will of creation upon all creation so judge not less ye be, judged yourself. All is forgiven, death/darkness took possession of all word, it is only his fault. Everything I've learned, I have learned on my own. I have never read the Bible till after I had my dreams with Jesus, he himself explained things to me. I explained everything in my book. Everyone has all word of creation upon them, each word has their own cell of aura, it is a firmament as this Galactic cell is the body of Christ, it has an aura and you are a word of creation within the body of Christ, you live the body of Christ and he has already died for your sins, that has enabled him as The Lord of Hosts. Within the handshake of all things, Jesus was the Body, he lived the experience of the spirit of the most high and the will of the father is the will within the body of Christ he gets to live the body of Christ with no powers, only faith, he will only present himself by the word and he stands firm with all the word. Genesis, Moses is not leading us into the book of word he is leading us out, back to the beginning. (Example) God placed a firmament between all the word and us as word have been placed within a six feet firmament caused by the corona-tion/crown lasted a year. Next is the (word was God) goes on all this year. Next year the word will start understanding these things and it will be, the (word was with God.) Next year after the word will have their full understanding of these things and God will be one with (the Word) as they are the bride to the body of Messiah, then Jesus by will, have ascended to the father, Jesus is proof that even death will experience life. (Bible says, God comes by the truth of your heart is your crown)means/corona, it is also your body and your Galactic cell upon Omega. We are the word of God and our actions are the signs of word, welcome to the corona/tion. Each sentence in the Bible is a sentence from order and each sentence is a year sentence as (1 in the beginning was the word) and (2 the word was with God) and (3 the word was God) (4 and the corona/crown has placed us as word six feet of firmament from each other.) Truth of word flows eternally forward as the distortion of truth is number, numb/cold power numb/ber. The multitudes are being taken back from death/darkness as legion is many, took everything from all the word. The light in the darkness is this grain of earth within this universal body and it is protecting all of life as you have a Galactic cell out there and this Galactic cell we are in right now is the body of Christ, you live the body of Christ within Omega as you have all word/will of creation upon you, within each cell is a throne, for all word of creation, you have your will/word of creation upon equal me/a/sure, you are a universal body, when this is over you will be shown all your action and consequence upon your Galactic realm and when trust is earnt you will claim your universal body again, within this multiverse. (universe/unity of verse/unity of word. I wrote a book it is all over the world, the book is called, The last shall be the first and the first shall be the last by Joseph Darrell Walker. If you know the Bible then you will know everything. Voices in head are not mental, think positive and legion as he is many will leave. Genesis/Moses isn't leading us into the darkness, he is walking us out of it, so read 4,3,2,1, and it will make better sense. All things fall, back to GOD, Isaiah 11;12. The more you wake people up, by that measure has woke up unto you so speak truth to the fullest and you will find faith walking within you. gfx

He’s saying everything that you are and have is God’s, not of you. It just strikes me how horribly dehumanised and powerless his remarks could make one feel inside. The mentality of conforming unquestioningly strips people of their true uniqueness and strength as individuals.

Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in my house, and prove me now herewith, saith the lord of hosts,if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive.

Are you no longer remember? Heavenly Father promised us still open the windows of Heaven if we pay tithes and if you don't eyes were robbing him because what heavenly father has given us is really his and giving back to just 10% is the way to show gratitude and faith

In what way is the money that we earn "God's"? He didn't literally create us since we know how babies are born. Even a faithful answer involves "well, God created everything in the beginning" and appeals to the idea that all of the results are his even though he did none of the work. Just imagine the backlash you would get if you were to try to pull that same nonsense with your children: "Now see Timmy, because we birthed you, we technically own everything you will ever do so all we ask is 50% of your profits. Forever. It's a fair deal, right? We brought you into existence, so you need to give something back to us. We do this because we love you! And we want to bless you by allowing you to exist." In this scenario, God is an unbelievable narcissist who thinks he is owed everything for a tiny amount of initial work.

    "Tithing isn't about money" WTF???
The LDS church has amassed a $100 billion investment portfolio whit tithing money. There should not be a single LDS member living in poverty to my thinking, but hey, maybe God is looking to retire soon and needs a nice nest egg so he can do some traveling and hang out at the golf course.

Even if true message of video still correct. There is nothing in scriptures that defines and requires modern day law of tithing as instituted by Mormon church. Yes Mormon church. Even though President Nelson wants us to rename ourselves so the outside world will disassociate ourselves from our history.
