Stephen (one of my Patreon members) tested this on FG MkII and it worked! So safe to say it'll work on any Falcon from AU2 to FGX 👌 but may not with some aftermarket key fobs. Stay safe everyone.
Thats interestinģ!😃👌👍
I'm pretty sure that on FG and FGX you can change that through the ICC but I'm happy to be corrected
@@scarfacedaw Pretty sure you can. On my 14' FG MKII G6E i've got it programmed to unlock only the drivers door, and auto lock above 10km/h. Along with horn chirp confirmation upon locking & unlocking my doors.
Not sure if that auto lock feature is available on XT's, XR6's, etc. But i'll gladly be corrected.
Mine is in the drivers door only mode but I can't change it! No matter what I try it won't recognise any keypads when I try to program them😥 so I have to use a key like it's the 1980's or something 🙄
@@todd_harrison4500 I've got 2 master keys for my G6E.... only thing i did was replace both batteries hahaha
A few people seem to be misunderstanding this. Holding both buttons down to swap unlocking modes only needs to be done once. After that, you simply use your lock and unlock buttons the same a usual.
Mode1: Unlock button unlocks all doors.
Mode2: Unlock button unlocks driver's door only - with a second press unlocking the rest.
i have a bf falcon...but i dont have the key with the buttons on it just the key...when i unlock my car it just unlocks the driver door and when i try to lock it, it locks all the doors...is this an issue with the central locking or is it just on the wrong mode like yours?
This is the perfect "lockdown" video, btw. Hello from Melbourne.
Funny u posted this. I actually changed my driver actuator yesterday and then added this function after your last episode. Great tip. Keep it up
I have owned my BF XR6 now for 7 years now and never knew about this!! I literally get into my car and the first thing I do is lock the doors. Great tip and awesome video mate 👍
The FG-FGX have this setting in the icc under locking/unlocking settings. I have a FG MK1 so I’m assuming it’s the same for the mk2 and fgx
Nice, still works via the remote too apparently.
I knew this setting was on the icc screen. Didnt know the key fob could do this as well.
Confirmed its the same for FG Mk2. Can be done via the remote PROVIDING you have a legit one. If you have an aftermarket/3rd party keyfob, the feature will NOT work.
Wow I didn't know this! Had my BA since 2005 and never thought it could do that. Thx for the top tip!
How did you get it to work on your ba? I got a 2004 ba and I'm trying to get it to work but having no luck
@@jesselarsen5359 yeah I tried yesterday and doesn't work for me. Tried simultaneously but it either locked or unlocked.
My VZ Calais has this similar setting. You go through the cars trip computer settings to activate it. I love using the function as it does make me feel safer just having the drives door unlock. To do it, you press the unlock button once for the drivers door only, or hold the unlock button down to open all four. Pretty good feature that I didn't know the Calais had till I went through all the settings after purchasing the car
Cool feature. I think I preferred how my old VT did it, one click for the drivers door, two to unlock all doors. Seems like a more convenient way to program the fob imo.
But that's exactly how this system works once you've swapped it into that mode...
@@MotoringBoxTV Ah bugger sorry I misunderstood, I thought that once the modes swapped only the driver door would open, my bad.
Interesting. Betty the Fairmont has this feature turned on. I do like it. As you say, a bit less wear on the actuators is never a bad thing!
I can confirm........it works on a FG MK2.2014 Tried it....and am very happy. cheers.
Wow unreal i did know about that feature, just gave it a go works a treat. Thanks Autobox.
Pretty much any car produced for the US market has this feature, anti-hijack and panic alarms are an expected feature on the keyless entry over there. Ford and Holden ended up with it here mainly due to the parent companies specifying it as part of the body control features. When I supply new keys for a car I usually ask the owner what mode they want their keyless entry in because as you said, most don't know this feature exists here in Australia.
Can confirm- AU1 series have the earlier EB-onwards two button remote, and this feature cannot be programmed in.
Just carry something next to the seat in case of a carjacking.
Yeah- everyone wants to steal those sweet sweet AU's just so they can get the panty dropping rep
I bought a low mileage AU2 late last year, and bought replacement keyfobs for it, after training the new fobs I noticed it was in the secondary mode, and never figured out how, now I know. This is a cool tip, and solved a mystery for me!
With aftermarket remotes I haven't been able to set it back to the "all doors unlock at once" mode
Once bought an AU 3 and thought something was wrong with it until I did the most unblokey thing and actually read the factory booklet in the glovebox
Thanks man. I just got a 03 coon wagon futura. Appreciate good info like this aye. Gonna try this in the morning. Cheers
You beauty. I have a BF2, I was well aware of the separate locking modes, and I was stuck on the unlock all doors mode while my preference is the unlock driver door first mode. But I never knew there was a way to swap the modes around without having to reassign the remotes all over again. Cheers for this.
had this on my ba, and thought my fg didnt do it, now it does!
thank you
I don't have any friends or family so I'll be setting up the car to do exactly this thanks for the tip Sean!
Worked on my BA ...
Thank you bro ...🤙🏽
Just did it on my FG. Thanks man!
My AUII came like that when I bought it. I thought it was standard. 😂
Learn something new always on this channel. 👍
Just tried it on my fgx with the keys and it works!
You can also hold the interior light button on the ICC in B series and up (not sure about AU's), for 5 seconds (or 10 seconds?) to set different modes.
Such as, not turning on the interior light when doors are opened, only turn on interior light when drivers door opened and the usual, turn on interior light when any door is opened. Not sure if there are any other modes.
Great info! Also, AU/BA-BF keyless entry fobs work on the FG and FG MkII. I would imagine the FG X is included, but I don’t know for sure.
Works perfect! FG MKII F6.
Thank you mate.
Holy shit it works, I'm on my second BA 2003 and only just found this out.
Yay for less actuator failures, I've personally had 2 fail, 1 in each car over the years.
Thanks for sharing.
Awesome, subscribed!
Mate that's awesome, i always wanted this feature..thanks.
I thought I recognised the rego of that Fairmont I saw on my commute! Noticed you have a flickering right number plate light you may not have noticed. Thank you for your amazing videos!
Huh.. Thanks for the tip. My AU had the driver-only unlock mode set when I got the car and I thought that was the only way it worked. for me its bloody annoying because I don't travel alone and had to press the unlock twice each time
It also works on SY Territories as well... We used that feature as our default! To unlock all doors, it's a simple double tap on the unlock remote button!!👌
Thanks for another great video
FINALLY AN AU EPISODE , thanks mate
Tomorrow too 👌
Agreed. The mighty AU has returned👍
@@MotoringBoxTV awesome
@@ross1137 yeah I know , I've been here since the very start , just wanted to see more AU content as the humble AU is my favourite out of his cars
Thanx for the info.I did wonder why my FG Falcon open all the doors with one click of the fob and my VE Commodore drivers door would only open with one click and 2 clicks for all the doors.Thanx for the tip Sean.
My AU2 has been stuck on the secondary mode since I bought it! A real pain in the ass as I usually need to open other doors as well. Thanks for the tip!
Thank you for the tip. It is standard in the newer cars. Much safer option.
AWESOME!
Thanks so much for that. Works great. Never heard anything about that before.
I Just found it when trying to work out why no Falcon has a key for the glove box and did they cone with one?
My friends car did that and he thought it was a problem with the car. He didn’t know if you press it twice it would unlock everything so he would press the button on the icc unit.
Will try this on my 07 Territory, being it's just a BF on stilts.
Should be the same!
Worked on my 08 terri
I’ve got an ‘11 territory, and an ‘07 BF XR6 and now I’m going to try this on both! 😂
Mine had that on when I got it 👍 least I know now I can switch it to the other mode should I need to.
I knew about the 4 or single door function as its listed in the owners manual but didn't know you could set it from outside the car like this....cool.
Tried it on my FG mk2 and it work
great tip mate indeed
Parents VX had set from factory short press drivers door long press or additional press to do other doors . Pressing lock twice also enabled deadlock mode 👍
this is so cool good to now when i get a falcon
Top tip ✌🏼
My VE, VX and VY all have this. I thought it was just a safety feature on cars. Although it was already on the car, like I didn’t have to change it anything. Glad it exists tho
worked on my FG1 !
Great tip. Does work on the FG.
thanks mate !!!!
worked on my BA XR8 ty
I have an aftermarket fob as mine oem one was damaged, is there any way to have this programmed manually or have a two click for unlocking all doors like some Holden's do? Otherwise I might have to try repairing my old fob to test this
thanks!
Thanks
Worked on my FGX Ute. Hit unlock a second time to unlock the rest.
Au s1 and sz territory aswell cheers for info 👌👌
I thought you were going to show how to lower al the windows with the key fob but this is much more interesting.
oh wow, both my au fairlane and au falcon wagon have been unlocking the drivers door only since ive owned them. thought it was that way from factory. no idea you can change it to unlock all doors at once.
I stumbled across this browsing through my manual in my Territory and set it 90% of the time like this. Before I sold it though I put it back on the normal setting as I thought someone might have thought the system was defective lol. Unless you read the manual fully you wouldn't know about this feature.....
This works on my PX3 Ranger as well!
👍cool man
Hey, this does work on all later models falcons, also almost all of the other Ford variants too - Ranger, Everest, Focus, Escape etc. on European Fords with one touch windows all round, try hold down the lock/unlock button, this is called Global locking/unlocking and will wind your windows up and down remotely. Say for a hot day and you want to let some fresh air in before you go out to your car.
global locking and with the global windows are only for the newer built Ford 2017 onwards due to the added Modules. there is a youtuber Richardo that has mentioned it in his 2018 ish F150 and works with a mod with the Forscan app
Bloody yippa m8, I usually drive my car 24/7 on my own, scarcely have passengers. Well done and thanks Cheers Teddy.
It'll be perfect for you then, stay safe.
The grandparents used to have a 2002 Ford Falcon future and it used to have this feature activated for security which I thought was pretty good I nearly ended up with that car myself
Always wondered why Ford never had this function! My VT used to have it, but my neighbours Falcon didn’t
Is a good feature works good on my BA Fairmont Ghia
My ute must not have this feature. I did learn that holding the button down is quicker then me spamming it 6 times to open the passenger side though. Cheers
I never knew that was a thing with the falcon though I have never had anything to do with the falcons after the early 90's models. That looking mode was a standard feature on my 1998 Jeep Grand Cherokee and my Commodore SV Ute is the same as my Jeep with that. I Still would love to have a XR6 turbo if I could afford one though.
do you know how to replace the back seat belt on a station wagon?
Stephen thanks for the tip. However I stopped using the wireless remote after it somehow caused my BA XT 2003 sedan to sound its horn in the middle of the night randomly. New battery didn’t seem to help so I just took out the battery from the remote and only use key access. Any suggestions on a fix?
It'll be the remote - I would take it apart and make sure the circuit board inside is all clean. ( Especially the red panic button)
Wow I didn't know this myself mind you I have read the owners manual twice lol
This works on my au xr6 s3
I never knew this! My key has forever only unlocked my door, bought it 3 years ago and never knew that so I can finally change it back haha
Same here but just tried to change it back and didn't work🙃
Called "Cop Lock" it was default on government vehicles and police, known about this since about 2008 from reading fordmod / ford forum posts.
Shes lookin mint still man😍
I tried two remote keys just now on my 2004 BA Ute just now but neither worked as described. Holding down both buttons just does nothing even after five seconds. Though I do know that one of my remote keys is aftermarket from eBay. It's possible the other one is too. It was supplied to me when I bought the car last year, though the buttons on it are quite worn, and it doesn't have a boot release button (because Ute), which lead me to think it is the original. Both remotes are just square black plastic things with white marking (and a red panic button) and didn't look like the remote key in your video, but maybe the AU remote is a different shape.
One of the other comments I received mentioned it didn't work with one aftermarket remote, but then another guy with a different aftermarket remote got it working. So it may depend on which particular one(s) you have!
I've found that some AU's and BA's are set to only unlock the drivers door and some all doors. My au is currently set to unlock.druvers door and unlock with a second a push where my brothers car is the opposite and unlocks all.
My AU3 ute was set to open both doors and found in the owners book how to alter it to driver’s door only. But the directions are different to how you’re explaining. Now I have an AU 2 Fairlane and it is set to the 2 button press to open all doors and the book directions don’t work, I’ll be sure to try your method instead. Cheers
Works on territory also 👍
If you set it to the drivers do unlock only can you revert it back to the setting that opens ip the 4 doors?
Yes, by doing the same thing again.
Is there a way to get your headlights to turn on automatically when you unlock your falcon? I'm curious to see if I can do this on my 2012 ford g6e. Cheers
it's in the ICC menu, courtesy lighting something something, just keep scrolling around until you find it. the headlight switch has to be on Auto too
@@JamieKugelmann ok thanks mate I'll give that a crack. Cheers 👍
It has done this with my key but not my aftermarket remote. So when i use key it only opens driver door but remore opens everything
Worked on my 08 territory
I always forget about the Territory. Luckily any of these things I mention about the Falcons typically apply to Territory also!
Who down votes video's like this? Handy video cheers
What about with just the key? only the drivers side door on my mates ute unlocks and it is very annoying.
I have a fault on my BA whereby all doors (except driver side) will lock and unlock when you press the respective lock/unlock button on the pad. I have to manually lock/unlock that door using the key only. Otherwise in general if the whole car is unlocked and I press the lock button, it will honk and carry on. Any suggestions? Please clarify if I'm not clear enough!
Actuator problem most likely.
What a FG tip!
My VT does that opens drivers door only then press again unlocks the other 3 doors 👍
My Au3 was already like this when i bought it when it only had 67,000kms on it
Couldn't get it working on my 2004 ford BA don't know why it's not, I've just got the basic 4 button key fob. Do I need a different one?
It should work, unless perhaps it is an aftermarket remote. A few people have commented with issues.
@@MotoringBoxTV I know its not the original key fob for the car as original was lost when I purchased the car, that may be the problem. Love the idea of being able to only open the drivers door!! Hopefully can find a fix and get it working have to have that.
Thank you
Crazy my alarm unlocks one door, then push unlock again and it does all 4.its a good trick
I started to miss this car.
My brother’s AU is set that way
When I got my au the driver side only unlocked
On the mkii fg and mki and mkii fgx work like this, with mki fg its in the ICC settings
I am actually wrong, it does work. Just checked on my mki FG XR6 Turbo and my brother's FGX turbo mkii or something like that and they both work!
Finally!! Family of five, all the doors need to be open! 😂
My fg mk2 has done the single door unlock since brand new . Certainly wasn't a hidden feature. My AU ser 3 wagon did the same thing. Cant see what's so hidden about it?
Most people don't delve into settings or read owner's manuals. I mentioned it as a throwaway comment in a previous video and was amazed how many people in the comments section didn't know about it. So we're the minority!
Does anyone know how to change the indicator flashes from 2 for lock and 1 for unlock? Every other car I've ever owned is the opposite.. 1 flash for lock (1 syllable) and 2 flashes for un-lock (2 syllables) makes more sense!
I don't believe you can change that unfortunately.
