    Good Job. I wouldn't have thought of cleaning the rubber tracks!

    I've had an AU Series 2 for over 20 years, and had the same problem when I first got it with no luck. Tried everything, then a mechanic put me onto Wolfchester Curtain Track lubricant. It's the ONLY stuff I've found that works, and it lasts for ages. Hope that helps.

    I had to replace the rubber in my BA today and some WD PTFE (teflon) spray made it a bit easier to get the rubber back in, but still needed to take the speaker out.

    Top movie, Mate.
    I was already thinking of cleaning ours, but I didn't think of checking the rubber like that.
    I'll do the same all round now.
    Cheers Cob.

    You have 4.6k viewers that be happy if you quit your daytime job and became a pro-ford door window replenisher..I'm only here for my Hyundai Excel yet I have a 2007 Territory that has 3 tricky sticky windows. You'd actually probably have a great business doing this to cars

    • @TEKNOFIED
      @TEKNOFIED  Год назад +2

      LOL. I have actually started a new job this week. Not sure how that will effect making YT videos yet. Time will tell. I owned a business once before. Repairs are the easy part. Customers another story all together. I would rather be employed than to be an employer believe me. I like the Territory. I know the electricals in them can play up but that's when I would correct it in my own way. If I didn't already have 5 cars 3 in the yard waiting to be worked on meanwhile pissing the MRS off I would probably get one.

      @@TEKNOFIED my mate ended up taking a punt and bought a Hyundai Accent window mechanism for the Hyundai Excel. Very similar tho he had to drill four different holes into inner door skin and then loosen up these two guide things that are stuck on the bottom of door window glass with carby cleaner ( guides held on with goop like they'd use to put around windscreens ).. and refit the guides.... It worked tho the spline thing that comes out that you put your up down handle on to make window work sits proud of door trim... Hope your missus gives you leniency lol 👍

    Awesome video mate I have the same problem and I thought that I had to replace the door rubbers, no one else has done a video on this 👍

  • @tomhocking5606
    @tomhocking5606 Год назад

    I’ve got an au with the manual winder and that angle you mentioned at the start of the video was happening to mine too. Except over time that angle was leveraging against the glue holding the window to the 2 centre clips, and broke the glue. Window fell out of the tracks into to the bottom of the door several times.
    I wonder if a bit of graphite would work better than that easy glide you mentioned. Just draw on the rail with some gray led pencils, exactly like the brushes in a starter motor. It’s a dry lubricant so you wouldn’t have a problem with the dust and stickiness. Might even try it myself

    • @TEKNOFIED
      @TEKNOFIED  Год назад +1

      A dry graphite and not the spray would help, but it will make a mess. If you try it I would suggest doing it where there is no wind. I can imagine applying it will be tricky unless you pull the rubber rails out and than apply the graphite.

    Yeah, interesting.
    I replaced the regulator in my BA a few years ago but it has been getting slower as time goes on. Both sides are affected.
    I'll try what you did, but I think the BA has felt or something else besides rubber in there. I'll remember when I pull it apart.

    • @sirsparksalot2

      I replaced the rubber in my BA today and the only felt is at the bottom of the window opening.

  • @MartintheTinman
    @MartintheTinman 2 года назад +1

    You have to get two screwdrivers and prise apart the two plastic clips that are attaching the window to the rear of the regulator.
    Remove all the bolts from the regulator and manipulate the regulator to disconnect it from the glass frame.
    Then you can tilt the glass forward to remove it from the door.
    It's difficult to do but it can be done

      True but not for long. I Did that, Used Easy glide, WD Silicone Lubricant, Spray Dry Graphite and more and all only work a week or two. I used all kinds of products for years until I finally had enough, so I pulled the rubbers out to clean. Now; No products at all and I have not had a problem with my window since. Cheers

  • @danzahhh13

    Tried this on my AU but unfortunately hasn't worked. It's definitely the rubber as the window moves up and down with ease when the rubber is removed.
    I'm thinking the rubber may have swelled over time and needs replacing all together?

    • @TEKNOFIED
      @TEKNOFIED  Год назад

      Maybe, Make sure to have a good look near the mirror that the rubber is in correctly and on the inside rails that the rubber didn't twist. Easy to over look as it can look ok but after touching it you can feel it isn't. If you already did that then I would have to agree with you. Cheers
