Why lol the complete collection is obsolete it doesn’t function on your system unless you’re running it on a toaster, people with high end pcs with windows 10 or 11 can’t enjoy it , so this re release is actually genius and allows people to have the game legally and not has to download zip files, it’s a complete game for $30 which is a steal also the complete and ultimate editions are no longer available to use on the ea store after today so again I get what you’re saying but just because you can still play and enjoy the game with the compete collection doesn’t mean everyone else can…idk your comment was pretty selfish and cringe u clearly don’t thing of the simmimg community lol
@@traejanstephens6012 err I don’t think you understood my comment. I was concerned the expansion pack would have been sold separately. I was in no way gatekeeping the games like you wrongfully assumed. Thankfully that wasn’t the case, they’re all included and you get kits for TS4 too which I wasn’t expecting.
from what I've seen, this TS1 version doesn't even include a menu for setting the resolution for example, among other things. definitely not worth my money
I'm a bit worried about all that re-release stuff cause it maybe just an excuse for EA to start fighting with all those people working with the first game under the "abandonware" conditions. Or maybe they just wanna get some extra cash for a game. I would really like to play Sims 1 normally on a modern PC but I have so many doubts about all this thing. Hope I'm just overthinking.
Hi. To be completely honest. I hope they re-release The Sims 1 and 2. Because that will actually come back and bite EA in the a**, as more and more of the "Newer sims generations" will learn what a REAL Sims game is supposed to be. And will finally understand our older simmers frustrations about The Sims 4. But also, with that being said.. This is exactly why I don't think EA will re-release them, unfortunately. It will only put them in a tough position. What do you think? 😁
@SiiiBee I totally see what you mean, I think it could *hopefully* make the new simmers be more critical agaisnt EA, they've gotten away with their bs for 10 years now...
Mam Nothing will change, most new people will not try the old stuff due to the graphics being worse. The packs were also available for free for years already
I managed to nab "The Sims 1: Complete Collection" from Amazon a few years back, but rather than trying to run it on modern hardware and modern Windows, I opt'd to run it inside a Windows XP Virtual Machine, which took a bit to get working, as some of the discs had issues with the Virtual Machine, perhaps DRM, but I did manage to get around it, then installed the NoCD patch available, allowing it to run as it originally did in the early 2000s. It uses the standard resolutions of either 800x600 or 1024x768, but since I grew up playing it back in the day, it just feels right at those resolutions. Curious how these re-releases are going to handle the retro resolutions, or if any up-scaling will be available, as having this game say running in 4K would be incredibly awkward, as the larger the resolution, the more you're going to need to squint to read the text and see the objects. Had "The Sims 2: Ultimate Collection" given by EA via Origin a few years back, and I got to experience many expansion packs I never originally owned. I also still have my OG physical DVDs for The Sims 2, and it does still install on my Windows 7 laptop with a CD tray.
Man, I can only imagine how many people will move to Sims 1 & 2 if it gets released at a good price. Imagine so many people move to those games, that the Sims 4 is losing allot of players I can see in an alternate timeline, where the Sims 4 releases a new pack, but will be undermined by simmers commending on RUclips, "But is it better than Sims 2?" My god, I will have a field day if that happens. New gen Simmers need to wake up & realise just how better older Sims were😂
@@dolph0w0 Shame to hear that. Not surprising with EA I’m afraid. I still have the cd copies so I’m not bothering, but can imagine those without would have loved this game.
I will keep using my "free" version because i don't want to deal with ea app. It works properly like once or twice a month and loads longer than Dragon Age Inquisition
We SHOULD get both these games for FREE rather than PAY for them but EA is so money grabbie so just like with Sims 4. So we'll have to wait and see. That said, am still excited to see these older games make a come BACK. I don't HAVE either of these 2 games but I am MOST interested in Sims 2 so that could be good. Hopefully. But thst also depends on price too. Aginh we SHOULD get either games for FREE. Also it's cool to see the expansion packs come back too with the games. Tbh I think Will write made both sims1 and Sims2 pretty good when they both first came out. These are his BEST two games. So VERY ICONIC as well. Ty for posting. 1👍✌🤩
Cloud EA app I doesn't care about ! CDrom based give you full controll over the game, not there with cloud installs . As a mimic at a low price for existing owners maybe because of new hardware but not at a 5o+ Euro offer !
Never played the sims 1. I hope they don't ask money for it. I have the sims 2 ultimate edition for free so i hope other people get it for free as well by some special code promotion thing like i did.
I have both The Sims and The Sims 2 on my computer. The Sims 1 I have no mod for and it works fine but… I can’t use my Switch Pro Controller when I play it so maybe I need mods for it so I can use my controller because my back starts hurting if I play with mouse and keyboard. So right now I’m only play The Sims 2 but I will get the digital version instead for both The Sims 1 and 2 so I can play both of them with my Switch Pro Controller and so I don’t have to install them from discs anymore and so I don’t have to found mods for The Sims 2 to make it work. And the last reason I will get this games digitally is because disc 1 been broken after I had installed The Sims Completed Edition on my computer. That was sad.
It would be nice if those games selling well digitally and EA would make some new Expansion Packs for those games. This would never happen but it would be nice.
loved much the sims 1 and 2 at the time, not sure if i can go back to then, i guess the most i can go back is sims 3 but even then i will miss infants and some stuff.
I thought that as well, but hell no, after giving a chance to the sims 2 I can never go back to the sims 4!!! the gameplay feels so modern and updated, I downloaded CC so the furniture will be more modern and it's fantastic!!!
Knowing “complete collection” and “ultimate edition” exists, it will really annoy me if the release the base games and expansion packs separately
The package will include both sims 1 and 2. Plus all dlc for both games
No extras to buy

If you really think EA's gonna "fix" or add anything that's just wishful thinking. We will see tho.
True, EA doing the bare minimum? We can dream...
They didn’t fix anything. So I won’t pay for it.
from what I've seen, this TS1 version doesn't even include a menu for setting the resolution for example, among other things. definitely not worth my money
I'm excited about the re-releases but not gonna lie. I wouldn't pay more than $30 total for 1 & 2 with all the expansions.

@user-10021 You might be right! ☺️ I still hope they give it a chance, though. Both Terraria and RimWorld are popular despite their graphics. ☺️
@@SiiiBee Rimworld is another fave of mine❤️

I wish I still had my original discs
I’m not paying for that I already got it for free

I think EA would rather see someone move from one EA game to another EA game rather than move to inZOI.
Actually you can still play Sims 2 without the re- release but you must have some programmes to run it
I already got the ultimate collection Sims 2 Edition so I’m getting Sims 1 for the nostalgia
Yeah same here
With all the crashes and launch failures at the moment? I’d say wait. It’s def not worth it now.
Yeah I definitely agree. I ended up having to refund mine because it literally wouldn’t start because my computer was too modern.
Same. Refunded mine after the 4 CAS crashes
@ sorry to hear that, we got happy for nothing. Maybe you can download both games from oldgamesdownload ☺️ old resolution but they work

LOL I miss when they used Comic Sans.
Baby dragons came to The Sims 3 Store with Dragon Valley but they were disappointing compared to those in Makin' Magic.
💯 I don’t even care the cost. Being able to play TS1 again is priceless!!!!!!!
My weekend has been rearranged ❤
Won't cost anything if you follow luffy's path
You can get these already with fixes by… arrrgh matey 🏴☠️
