Possibly! But it would be better to move to the E-flite F-16 Thunderbirds 70mm model first. The 80mm model flies very similar to the 70mm model all around. It does take a bit more distance for takeoff and (especially!) landing, but other than that they handle almost the same (especially when you fly without the ordnance and drop tanks on the 80mm version...with those installed it's a bit "draggier" and takes more power/control than the 70mm model).
Great looking jet! Even though the plane has cheater holes, can I setup reverse thrust on this? Trying to find out if it has been tested. Even if only somewhat effective might be better than having nothing. I am planning to fly at our club which has about 640 ft runway
You can! It doesn't work quite as well as it would without cheater holes, but it will shorten the rollout by about 20-30% (versus the 50-60+% it does for the Viper 90mm that does not have cheater holes).
Holy Viper on fire!!!! Man alive that is an absolute beauty. Sound is tremendous and the undercarriage detail is phenomenal. I will be keeping this one on my shopping list when I get to jets. We have MANY more new models coming this year and beyond (we usually release about two dozen new models each year)...from ultra micro to giant scale, trainers to high performance, sport to scale. And yes, including a few exactly along the lines of what you're asking about ;)
I was thinking to buy the Draco and now comes out another masterpiece! Stop with compliments and let's go deeper.., what's her taking off distance on grass and on runway, as well as for landing? Our runway is 80meters, and my E-flite Viper without flaps needs all runway to take off and for landing even more. BTW, something else is planned also for teh next month?
Takeoffs can be very short (less than 20 meters...see the 0:43 mark in this video), but many will need more than 80 meters for landing with little to no headwind. Also, it is not well suited for most grass surfaces (unless the grass is quite short, not too thick, and the ground under the grass is not very rough...it's best suited for paved and other smooth surfaces). We have MANY more new models coming this year and beyond (we usually release about two dozen new models each year)...from ultra micro to giant scale, trainers to high performance, sport to scale!

@@HorizonHobbyProducts oh I’m aware and really excited for what you have in store this year and beyond. I’m waiting for my local hobby shop to open at their new place so I can order them both.
The landing gear is very scale-like, pretty much all metal, and is painted white right from the factory! It works great on paved and smooth surfaces of course, and might work on some grass surfaces. Grass surfaces vary greatly though (length of the grass, thickness of the grass, how rough the ground is under the grass, etc.), so YMMV when it comes to that.
Hi horizon hobby but this sound of the f16 in the video it's real sound of the kit? Hope it's real but I think the video it's edited with real turbine sound. Can you explain this?
Top speed can often vary greatly depending on conditions, the performance of your battery, whether or not you have the ordnance/tanks installed, etc. But as Jason noted in the official thread over on RCGroups (seen here: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3883163-The-ALL-NEW-E-flite-F-16-80mm-EDF-Most-Detailed-Best-Handling-Fighting-Falcon-Yet%21): "Top level flight speed is around 120 MPH (using a 6S 5000mAh 30C Spektrum Smart LiPo battery and without the ordnance/drop tanks installed...those do add quite a bit of drag and reduce the top speed by ~10-15 MPH)."
Nice looking bird, but I really wish.... just ONCE.... someone offered an F-16 ARF that had the proper droop to the wingtips and missile rails. Sticks out like a sore thumb that they're parallel to the ground.

You can! It doesn't work quite as well as it would without cheater holes, but it will shorten the rollout by about 20-30% (versus the 50-60+% it does for the Viper 90mm that does not have cheater holes).
Does anyone know what's the name of background music? Thanks
i think the turbine whoosh sound from this airplane comes from the double propellors in the edf fan
SOUNDS AMAZING 💯♥️🇬🇧🇺🇸👍😁
Holy Viper on fire!!!! Man alive that is an absolute beauty. Sound is tremendous and the undercarriage detail is phenomenal. I will be keeping this one on my shopping list when I get to jets. Amazing job Horizon Hobbies, by the way which trainer jet would be the one to go for gearing up for something like the Falcon?
The E-flite Habu STS 70mm EDF is a perfect first jet for experienced RC pilots...and is even a great first-ever RC airplane for new RC pilots: www.horizonhobby.com/search?q=E-flite+Habu+STS+70mm+EDF&search-button=&lang=default
The E-flite Viper 70mm EDF is a perfect "full-house" (because unlike the Habu STS it also has retracts and flaps!) first jet for experienced RC pilots: www.horizonhobby.com/search?q=E-flite+Viper+70mm+EDF&search-button=&lang=default
Then, after mastering the Habu STS and/or Viper, you should move into the E-flite F-16 Thunderbirds 70mm EDF before you fly the F-16 Falcon 80mm: www.horizonhobby.com/search?q=E-flite+F-16+Thunderbirds+70mm&search-button=&lang=default
The E-flite F-15 Eagle 64mm EDF is also a great simple and lower cost first jet for experienced RC pilots: www.horizonhobby.com/search?q=F-15+Eagle+64mm+EDF&search-button=&lang=default
From everything I’ve heard try the viper 70mm that’s a good one if u wanna start into 6s jets
@@HorizonHobbyProducts Thanks chaps.
Is it possible to take off from grass with it?
Is it June yet, ready for this. I’d also like to pre order my F-22 hint hint 🤣
It's June now and F-16s are currently scheduled to begin shipping next week :)
@HorizonHobbyProducts Love that sound! Best sound Ive seen and good price! Is it sound generator or the motor that is making the turbine whoosh sound?
That's simply the sound of the stock power system...it's a combination of the ducting and the fan resulting in the turbine-like whoosh!
@@HorizonHobbyProducts Wow thats so cool! can you send me a diagram please? I wanna see how it works, thanks
Hopefully more general aviation planes in the works the 6s jets are too pricey to battery need more 3s-4s planes
We have MANY more new models coming this year and beyond (we usually release about two dozen new models each year)...from ultra micro to giant scale, trainers to high performance, sport to scale. And yes, including a few exactly along the lines of what you're asking about ;)
Well,so should I buy the freewing 90mm version or this one?
When you see them side-by-side, there's no doubt which to buy ;)
this is awesome . What's the flight time ?
@@HorizonHobbyProducts Thanks for your fast reply and the infos which many others i am sure want to know. What about to install wheel brakes, do you think is possible and are available at HHP?About "We have MANY more new models coming this year and beyond (we usually release about two dozen new models each year)" my problem is that you always make planes i like! ;)
please Horizon, we need a 90mm to 120mm composite ARF jet kit. Please we need another choice other than foam !!!!!
You discontinued the f 18 for this
...dang it
The PNP version of the original F-18 80mm is still available, as are the BNF Basic and ARF Plus versions with the Blue Angels scheme: www.horizonhobby.com/search?q=E-flite+F-18+80mm&search-button=&lang=default
My wife told me "No more rc planes" after I bought a V1200 a few weeks ago... hehehehehehehe!!!!!! 😃😃😃
I really wish there were a bigger, 105mm version of this F16!
I pre ordered this beauty. When can I expect it to arrive?
The first shipments are currently on schedule to arrive at our warehouses in the US and EU by early to mid June and will begin shipping ASAP after that!
Can’t wait! This is my dream plane. Been waiting for this for a while. Now all that’s left is a twin 70mm f15 or 80mm f15. I’d be cool with either.
@@HorizonHobbyProducts What is the status now?
In average how long does it take for this to ship to california?
When these are in stock in our CA warehouse (in Ontario, CA), transit time to most locations in CA will be 1-2 days. This model has outsold expectations so we currently only have a limited supply available in our IL warehouse. Transit time to most locations in CA will be 3-5 days from that warehouse, and if you want one ASAP, you should order it right away (otherwise we won't have more stock available until January or February of next year!): www.horizonhobby.com/product/f-16-falcon-80mm-edf-jet-smart-bnf-basic-with-safe-select/EFL87850.html
@@HorizonHobbyProducts Thanks! How long does it usually take to arrive after i order? I live around 30 miles from Ontario CA
Which sound is much louder E-flite F-16 or F-18 ?
Their sound and volume levels are very similar!
@@HorizonHobbyProducts which one do you prefer E-flite F-16(80mm) or F-18(80mm) ?
Can it land on grass?
Stoooop I haven’t bought the Draco yet!!!
Uh oh! We still have MANY more new models coming this year and beyond (we usually release about two dozen new models each year)...from ultra micro to giant scale, trainers to high performance, sport to scale :)
@@HorizonHobbyProducts oh I’m aware and really excited for what you have in store this year and beyond. I’m waiting for my local hobby shop to open at their new place so I can order them both.
Next Level👊
Will this also work on a Grass runway?
The landing gear is very scale-like, pretty much all metal, and is painted white right from the factory! It works great on paved and smooth surfaces of course, and might work on some grass surfaces. Grass surfaces vary greatly though (length of the grass, thickness of the grass, how rough the ground is under the grass, etc.), so YMMV when it comes to that.
Does this thing sound better than the f18?
They sound very similar...but we think the F-16 sounds even better overall :)
I love it!
this is like the f1 v10 of rc jets.
That is awsome.
My neighbours are going to hate me !!!!!!
Hi horizon hobby but this sound of the f16 in the video it's real sound of the kit? Hope it's real but I think the video it's edited with real turbine sound. Can you explain this?
As noted in the first sentence of the video description and the first/pinned comment: "Yes, that is the sound of the actual model in the video!" :)
@@HorizonHobbyProducts what's the max thrust?
What is the max Speed?
Top speed can often vary greatly depending on conditions, the performance of your battery, whether or not you have the ordnance/tanks installed, etc. But as Jason noted in the official thread over on RCGroups (seen here: www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?3883163-The-ALL-NEW-E-flite-F-16-80mm-EDF-Most-Detailed-Best-Handling-Fighting-Falcon-Yet%21): "Top level flight speed is around 120 MPH (using a 6S 5000mAh 30C Spektrum Smart LiPo battery and without the ordnance/drop tanks installed...those do add quite a bit of drag and reduce the top speed by ~10-15 MPH)."
what is the top speed?
Over 100 MPH in level flight (close to 100 with the ordnance/drop tanks installed and closer to 120 without them installed)!
In the words of my father " that is skookum"!
F-16‼︎(≧∇≦)
very nice‼︎Can you do the knife edge, too?
Yes! We just didn't show it because that's not a very common maneuver for the F-16 to perform :)
@@HorizonHobbyProducts OK‼︎thank you!
Awesome!!
Umx draco & Umx F16 v2 plz🤔
😱 I want my Mtv.... errrr F-16😁🤣😉🇺🇲
Are they hittin' the delivery trucks soon?
Soon! Currently expected to begin shipping next week :)
Nice looking bird, but I really wish.... just ONCE.... someone offered an F-16 ARF that had the proper droop to the wingtips and missile rails. Sticks out like a sore thumb that they're parallel to the ground.
