What would be defined as a solid sat score? 1300+? As for gpa is a 3.7 unweighted good? Weighted is 4.5 because honors and ap classes have more weight. I do more honors and ap classes, more of my APs are in senior year though. Extracurriculars aren’t heavily related to engineering mostly science in general. Should I try being an intern or something for my dad who is a structural engineer? I never thought I’d be considered for internships because I’m only a high schooler but apparently high schoolers can have internships which I didn’t know. I’m going to be a senior is it too late to bolster my extracurriculars? My grades are alright, ECs are decent but I need to strengthen them, and I only did one test (sat) and I got the 95th percentile but I’ll do the sat again and might try the act. Should I do the act if I’m a much better science student? To clarify, I have had Bs sprinkled in my math and English grades ever now and then (got 1 B in ninth grade math and 2 Bs in English so far in high school) but in science my lowest grade ever has been a 93, and this isn’t in just high school, I’ve never gotten less than a 93 in a science class all my life. So I’m considering the act but idk if it’s worth trying to get the hang of an entirely different test and if I should just focus on the sat instead.
