wow this fixed the issue indeed. i just bought a new iphone 15 pro max a few weeks ago, we are now feb 2024 and this bug is still not fixed.. Thanks for sharing a workaround!

I have been having kind of the same problem --- using my iPhone 15 to film video, hooked via HDMI cable to my iPad/iPhone (as a monitor) connected to the AccSoon SeeMo. It seems like hit-or-miss when my iPhone monitor matches the landscape orientation that my filming iPhone is in. I still can't quite figure out why it's not consistent. Sometimes it would work when I change from one filming mode (say, Camera to Video, for example), but other times it won't change. When I finally accidentally got both screens to match, I changed my iPhone monitor to the red orientation lock in the Control Center. Maybe this will do something; I'm not sure. It must be some sort of bug, indeed.
thank you for this! It wasn't working for me at first then I realized I opened my camera up on the Lock Screen so this hack doesn't work if your phone is locked. You will need to unlock your phone then open the camera app for this hack to work, thank you so much for sharing!!
Thank you, I am experiencing exactly this issue. I'm using an Iphone 13 pro but unfortunately this fix doesn't work for me. Quicktime will go into landscape when surfing on Chrome - but not in the camera. Very frustrating!
If I record in 4k the screen mirroring get‘s totally delayed.. do you have any ideas on how to fix that? So when I‘m recording in 4k on my iPhone, the screen mirror on my laptop isn‘t lagging
there is no workaround that unfortunately , the phone is using the maximum processing power resulting in the delay , same happens for me , you can only try to : lower frame rate or lower resolution , I see that in 4k 25/30 on iphone 15 the delay is acceptable , I also would prefer 4k 60 but especially if you are indoor and you don't film fast action , 4k 30 might actually give you better results in terms of image quality (lower frame rate increases low light capability)
