Arkansas Traveler on Northfield archtop octave mandolin! Jacob Head

- Early last year, I recorded Arkansas Traveler on my Weber Sage octave mandolin. After much popularity, I decided to take another crack at it, this time on my Northfield archtop octave. The two have remarkably different sounds, and the Weber’s scale length is about 2 inches shorter. Check out the comparison, and let me know what you think!

Northfields makes very special instruments. Thank you for this. I have my eye an a Northfields Octave to keep my Big Mon company.
That’s a great combination! I love my NF5-S and A5 special, but most Big Mons that I’ve played I’ve really liked. Really mature feeling instruments.
