Of course he has yet to prove it all, but I see in him a player who could become the next Guardiola or Busquets. Perhaps he'll be that at Liverpool. You've shoe horned data into your hypothesis. Season before this Feyenoord crossed the most, with overlapping full backs hitting the byline and crossing, whilst the wide guys cut in.The full backs were the width and needed fantastic energy and stamina, not a particular trait of Trents. They were expected bomb it back too. Again not Trent s skillset. This season they average the most through balls and short passes, looking to break lines and play ppl in not hit direct and long. Their counter press is always excellent. Trent in this system needs to be in the double pivot, not right back, which he dislikes

As much as it’s fun and all to speculate and try predict how he will set up at Liverpool I don’t think it’s really worth the effort. So many managers change their game drastically when they arrive in the PL which demands a different approach to the game. Pep had to change, Klopp’s game changed a LOT too after arriving in the Premier League

    • @Larsd69
      @Larsd69 Месяц назад +1

Exactly, people expect Slot to copy his whole system and instructions. Which is the first mistake they make, as coaches adjust their system to the players qualities to get the most out of them. They don’t just blindly do the exact same thing, especially when you’re moving to another league with different football. If it was that easy, all PL sides would already know what he’ll do and he’d get outplayed. Jurgen played a 4231 with Coutinho as a natural 10 when he first came into the squad, but now we know him for his traditional 433 and he hasn’t used a 10 since Coutinho left. So managers change aswell.
As you said there’s no point speculating about who’ll start where and who’ll leave and all that, because after all, we just don’t know and won’t till this summer.
I’ve seen like 20 different analysts making their starting eleven, and they’re all different… It’s not what it might be, it’s what they want it to be. But there just analysts or content creators, not world class coaches.
Can’t analyse Slot in the PL when he hasn’t managed in the PL yet.
I’m just excited to continue this rebuild and looking forward to preseason against United and Arsenal

@@soundbeings1 Tbf to Trent he's delivered on the football Klopp wanted for Liverpool. He only joined the midfield to help Fab (while he was struggling) and around that time Klopp opted to make the side more possesion based then previously. I used to hate when Trent would just sling the ball long without really picking a player out. But thats on purpose and part of the game. Sometimes Liverpool instead of build up opt to attempt to counter press in certain spaces. It allows the team to move forward quicker and shifts the pressure onto the opposition. I think we can all say TAA in the overlapping role has been his best football, But he'd get targeted on the channel due to his lack of pace. Under Slot TAA is going to have to change his focus as they predominately look to build up with short passes, which i love as it keeps defenders more honest. Defensively Slots full backs arn't really that astute defensively they're simply a lot more physically gifted then other full backs in the dutch league by comparison.
And if not Trent as vice captain then who? His age range is perfect for it, he's played with the older lads and can communicate easier to the youngers.

Trent has to move into midfield now. It would be a waste of Conor Bradley's talent to keep him on the bench. He's only 20 and he's been one of the best right backs in the league this season and could easily ascend to becoming one of the best in the world. Also Trent could just as easily become one of the best midfielders in the league. He's a great athlete, his vision and passing are off the scales as are his long shots and while his defensive instincts aren't great, he's a good recovery defender which is what he'd have to do more of as a box to box midfielder. He'd spend more time chasing down players with the ball than he would making sure he's in a good defensive position as a midfielder. Honestly I don't know why Southgate hasn't tried Rice, Trent and Bellingham as a three for England. Just look at all the quality you have there.

If you want to make trent elite, play a back 3 and let trent play as RWB

@@LfC_Muffin_Man I agree. It's so funny that we have had all this talk for months speculating on TAA new spot and I've heard almost no one mention him playing a RWB in a back 3 which seems like his most natural position I suppose? We know he can't defend but aside from his class and spraying the ball all over...what is Trent really great at? Short passing in tight spaces? No. Physical? No. Works hard tracking back. No. Pressing? No.
I think if you can get 100+ million you take it.

we will not. jesus man he cannot defend! why is it everybody ignoring this. I dont think slot will be good either. his playing style is the same as ten hag and look where he took man utd. liverpool need to move on by firstly accepting the fact that they need 3 at the back, if they want trent to play the way they want. i bet man you give him oner season under slot and you will see that he will be shit. he will not play well and will not defend and not reach his potential and after take him to a team like leverkusen or sporting and you will see what he'll become. Man i feel sorry for him but this is just a wasted career playing like that. what they could do is move him to midfield and buy a proper right back, but still play with a 3 at the back because it suits liverpools aggressive playstyle.

Yeah right 😂😂😂😂. The only success Trent had was being a full back that when the time needed he went forward. Many times over those years he still got caught out many times. The tough opposition always targeted Trent as the weak link in defence and attacted through their left. Simple.

Arne won't sign anybody. He would only sign 2 player Weiffer and a defender. He will rather convert a lot players to other positions and utilize our loan returnees. After 6 months, he will be busy in January.

Laughable to compare Trent to Gertruida! Gertruida's work rate is light years ahead of Trent's. Gertruida is faster, stronger and very hard to go past. Trent is weak and probably easiest player to go past in the prem.
Trent to midfield? What are you smoking!
    Slot won't tolerate passengers.
    Trent'd better move this summer..
