Good evening Pete and Marcus. I am interested to know why you didn't choose to fit weather compensation at the same time. It would only have been an extra sensor and cable to fit for extra efficiency ? Thank you
I wired a VR71 this week interestingly the small detail in the wiring diagram shows the live going to the motor on the zone valve is linked through the hi limit thermostat on unvented cylinder, bypassing the control part of the stat therefore maintaining G3 compliance. Does this arrangement vary on different vaillant wiring centres. Love the wiring videos Pete I do loads so I'm always interested to see how others are doing 😊
I know how to control it ,it's just that most of the time I use an electrician, who is well versed with wiring all different types of system,I know my limits and I don't think is a bad thing admitting it.
I hope you didn't connect to that junction and just leave it dangling as it was. As an electrician I would put that as a fail if I was testing the property and would also note the cables were not identified...
@@mbplumbingheating91 Is there a doc from Vaillant anywhere that shows that if using vaillant ebus then the G3 regulations safety requirement for overheat stat cutout of the zone valve is not required?
@@mbplumbingheating91 The Worcester ebus wiring centre docs say that "Unvented DHW cylinder G3 compliance - If using an unvented DHW cylinder, G3 compliance can be achieved by supplying the power to the Greenstar Wiring Centre through the DHW cylinder safety thermostat. This ensures that when the safety thermostat is tripped, the heat source is isolated." . Will be interesting to see if Vaillant have found a way around that.
@@TheDickPuller page 27 Vaillant doc 00200111105/03 says if using 230 controller from a third party you MUST connect the cylinder thermostat and TCO to the Vaillant control centre ,this is not required with a Vaillant ebus system solution hope helps 👍
Great video mate. Love watching your videos. I always learn something from them. I haven't done a strip on a Viessman main hex ( yet ), so great stuff. You and Marcus make a good team ( good chemistry ) . Look forward to your next video :)
Not familiar with those controls, does the boiler have weather compensation or is that included in the new controls you installed? Your local climate is pretty steady, my climate goes down to -23°C, weather comp pays for itself here.
Hi it doesn't have weather comp but does have load compensation. we did offer it to the customer weather comp , but he didn't want that, but you are right it is really good
Hey Pete great video again. Just one comment from my automotive background, is it wise to put the control gear horizontally below the water source? At some point there will be a leak and it looks like all of the electrical work is at the lowest point. Keep up the great work, Steve
Normally the heater resistors is responsible for the fan on full or not at all, if the instrument cluster is anything like bmw or Range Rover it will need coding.
Be very careful with the instrument cluster, your immobilizer data, mileage and service information is contained in there. Dropping in another instrument cluster will not work without first transferring the data to the donor instrument cluster. You may even lose the use of your stereo as I believe you have a Discover media which has component protection linked to the instrument cluster. Shame the guy didn't remove the buzzer from the cluster when he was in that far.
Hi Pete, how does the Vaillant control work as a high limit stat for the cylinder as well as a censor, just wondered how the cylinder manufacturers would view it as it’s a safety device?
cost saving will be minimal but most of the trvs were shot and also the room stat was only accurate to about 3 degrees so they could be set at 20 but actually be 17 or 23😂
How did it go using solid core for the BUS ? I've had issues in the past and stick with multiple strand flex as in the MIs now Really good to see you are pushing Modulation controls, nice one!!
Morning Pete , am a commercial heating engineer but love watching your videos and the domestic work you do , keep going brother 💪🏻
Good stuff,very informative,thanks.
Good to see you back, Pete.

Great videos Pete glad to see you and Marcus working together again and glad to see you back 👍
As a couple of Plumbing engineers you two make excellent control Electricians!! Total respect and credit to you both. Fantastic video.

Nice one PB yourself and Marcus make a good team and get along well.
Great video! Plumbing seems to be a lot about controls at the moment, so it’s good to see some wiring tutorials!
Keep em coming bro your still the best on here , 💯
Only a true professional keeps a hammer in the test equipment bag
Amazing amount of shower screens I've had to take out due the tray not being sealed all the way around before the screen is fitted...
Well done Pete. I don't know how you keep all those bloody wires straight in your head. Good on you.
Great content. Great work. 👍👍
The shadow looks like you’ve got your willy out 😂 14:30
Great video, I seem to recall you using a blue line flue gas analyser on one of your videos, vac you point me back to which one please
Great video lads!
Just a quick one where would you wire the pump to in a open vent set up?
Cheers
Nice to see heating engineers who do their own electrics - so many out there not doing it
Is that a bad thing,if your not that confident doing it?
@@ginola602 yea but how can you install a heating system and not know how to control it?

Good one love your videos
Live from the hot water zone valve should of still gone through the high limit stat on the cylinder just in case
Not needed if using vaillant ebus 👍

@@mbplumbingheating91 It’s nothing to do with Vaillant it’s a G3 Reg. It’s one of the three protections of the UVC. It needs the HT Cut-Out.

Hope you did not cut off all of those spare cables 🤞

Did the tech replace the heater resistor in your van? Common issue with those
Have you put white paint in my hair 🤣🫣

The sensor fails safe.
It's recommended to run the control power through the Ovetheat
Electric showers where do you stand on trade demarcations on fitting one !!
Interesting why that board didn’t blow as the external controls where in the 24v
The original system used the 24v from the board to the grey on the zone valve and back down the orange to make low voltage connections 👍
Mate I've still got your bloody fluke voltage tester 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
cheeky wee midweek video, nice one pete👍👍
What multimeter you using there Pete? I've been looking at the t5-600
Do you not use the RT option on the boiler then isit just working in the bus option
Also great video MB is a great eng aswell top work lads
For the cost of that update from the customer, what savings will they make?
Peace of mind
