G'day, I recently relocater my Duo2. I had to put the mounting plate at an anglebecause there is no adjustment once you set "X&Y" axis. I have floodlights on all night with great lighting out to about 20m. depending on if the streetlights are working as to how well it can pick up people at over 75m I also have an 823 that can see all of the same area if I pan/tilt it around. The 823 lets me get up close to events as they happen on the street. The combination is great for watching thing live and then being able to replay.
@@HomeTechDIY The Police keep telling me I have great cameras, even hough most are only the 5MP type. I'm just lucky to live in an action packed area. I'de love to get another NVR and a back up power supply, also need a lot more storage as well as more zoom cameras. The list just keeps growing.
My Duo 3 heated up first night and died. Let it cool off and second night it heated up again and died. Just got a replacement but didn't test it yet. That was while testing inside. The NVR wasn't communicating to Gmail nor was playback working. Total failure!
I have the Duo 1 and the Duo 2 Spotlight, neither has a 180 degree field of view horizontally, the measurement is claimed to be 180 degrees diagonally. I have two other brands of cameras with a true 180 horizontal FOV and the difference is pretty noticeable. The worst part about the Duo 3 is the vertical FOV is terrible which is especially noticeable if you mount the camera up higher. I hope that the Duo 3 has better person detection than the Duo 2 because it is a know problem with that camera.
would be nice if the ethernet cable went through the mount rather than being exposed. Looks like there is no wifi so ethernet only, overall a pretty good camera for the price. Do you get free cloud recording?
Yes, that would be nice to have the wire more protected. There is no WiFi option for the 16MP. That's a lot of data to transfer through WiFi. The Duo 2 supports WiFi: reolink.com/us/product/reolink-duo-wifi/?aff=216 I think there is a cloud plan for 12MP and lower.
I installed DUO 2s instead of 3s mainly because of cost (£104 vs £180 each x 3 ). I don't need to be able to see more than 30ft from my property because of a road in front of my house. I'm not sure the DUO 3 offers enough of an upgrade from the 2 to justify the cost.
Just fitted my duo3 but a little confused by the 16mpixle rating, on my monitor I see 5M ? Not 16M. All my other Reolink cameras show their Mega pixel correctly like 8M And 12M. Very strange?
I was able to reproduce that issue on my NVR with the Duo 3. Your Duo 3 is streaming in a lower MP. To fix it from the NVR: Click the gear icon (Camera Settings) on the bottom right of the Duo 3 channel. On the Stream tab, click the gear icon on the right, next to Sub Stream. Then change the Resolution to the other (higher) value.

Sounds like an awesome setup!!

11:03 unfortunately you cannot specify the area where to activate lights or alarm. So it will be for the whole FOV.
CAN YOU PLEASE confim it only takes ONE channel for BOTH cameras (duo 3)
The Duo takes 1 NVR channel

@TheHookUp channel (ruclips.net/video/InBRTveD9_w/видео.html) tests this and the newer "3" model seems overhyped IMO
