I grew fly rod fishing. My dad taught my brother and I how to make our on popping bugs. We used to pluck our neighbors rooster to get the feathers for our flies. Ours were a little bigger, and made for bass. We probably caught thousands of bass back then. Good memories. My dad is almost 96 and still with us. I'm blessed. Love y'all, and the videos.
Tara I always had great luck using a small beetle spin with a one inch black mr. twister body. Awesome crappie and perch slayer on light line. Make sure that rascal you are fishing with doesn't throw his fish at your end of the boat too. LOL I saw him spooking your fish. The area you all were fishing was so pretty. Thanks for taking us along. :D

As I get older, I find myself reminiscing about those good ol' days quite often. There's a lot of good to be said about the simple life!
I was using a fly rod at age of 6 with dad. We used small bait called Hildabrandt Spinner with a small white strip of Uncle Josh Pork Rind on the hook. About 3” above the hook was a BB size splitshot and then a cork sinker. We jigged them around wood & boat docks. The crappies loved them. Great memories.
I love your videos im 68 and my boyfriend is 77 and we go fishing and its so relaxing we live in Tennessee but i would love to try crabing and jug lines you make it look like so much fun and im glad you take the time for family time and like Keith says we gonna play keep the videos coming im a loyal fan of them

Tell Tara to put use popping bug on a regular rod. I used to out fish my brother when he was using a fly rod. A tiny split shot will get it there. I remember using a sinking fly called a bream teaser...devastating.Thanks for the fun content.

Actually I'm 70 years old and I still call them perch. That supper looked amazing, and healthy, but its hard for me not to fry perch. The bonus footage of Drake was priceless.

We recently had very good weather, but last night heavy rain and storm, a large branch broke off, certainly with 2 buckets a good 35 liters of plums on it. What a mess.
