I moved from New York to Louisiana, yes for a girl. What you going to do. What I learned very early was you guys will eat anything. I live in Lake Charles and I love it. Thirty minutes in almost any direction and I’m fishing. Sometimes less than that. I don’t eat most of it but I love to go out and fish. I give it away but what fun.
Yes, we eat pretty much anything or at least try anything. So many places to go fishing and playing out on the water in south Louisiana. Sportsmans paradise for sure. 🎣🎣🎣

I don't understand. I'm from New Orleans, yeah you don't want to take what you ain't goin eat... however, apparently you've never been around hungry folk. As a Catholic in New Orleans, for that matter any ole body living anywhere can see if they ain't blind...there are hungry people...fish ain't goin run out if you catch with pole ...for fuck sake... people are starving in Louisiana and you throw fish back you could fill coolers wit. Come on dude. Share the bounty 😢

We love the bayou life. It's the best stress reliever out there!
I used to have a house boat/cabin on 55 gallon drums on Lake Okeechobee at the dynamite hole and had some of the best times in my life out there , just about every time we would go there , there would be a gator on the porch , we fished for specks off the boat and would clean and cook as we caught them , nothing better.

I lived in Laplace, Louisiana for a few years. Pumped concrete for Bayou Concrete pumping. Got to get out there in the swamp a few times with the owner and fishing . Good times brother, good people down there! Thanks for sharing the video! It brings back some cool memories.

I grew up in Winnie, Texas, but a lot of my family is from Terrebone Parish, in Houma. Spent some summers around Bayou Blue, and out in the swamp at the camp. We did a lot of hunting and fishing out there.

That fish was definitely a white bass which is also called a sand bass south of where I live. That fried fish and frog legs had me chomping at the bit! WOW it looked good! Thanks for another adventure buddy, until next time.... Laataah!

Always look forward to your videos at the camp. Alone time is always relaxing. I’ve always said I wish we had cell phones back in the mid 70’s when I worked on a barge rig out of Houma. I worked in some of the most beautiful places along the coast. I really enjoyed it when we were on location in the Atchafalya Basin working out of Pierre Part. Keep up the videos as they are so enjoyable.
Our camp is by Lake Verret. We spend a lot of time in Pierre Part. The Atchafalaya Spillway is an amazing place. The scenery out there is breathtaking. Really appreciate it buddy! 🍻

Luv me some spincast. Grew up fishing with these. I’ve got a Bullet too, Omegas, and Goldcasts. Like my old school stuff, but now it has more ball bearings and is a lot smoother.

What's up Keith I hope Y'all are doing well. Looks like the swamp is coming back to life funny how it hates the cold just as much as we do. I was always told when I was younger if you get enough to feed yourself you've had a good day fishing. We always fished all day but only kept what we could eat. Oh your partner in crime showed up. I wish my wife would have gone fishing with me more than she did but it was fun when she did go the only thing was she would get mad when I hooked a fish and she didn't get any she didn't think about the days she got fish and I didn't. Well great adventure can't wait to see the next one. Y'all take care stay safe.. .
When it starts getting warmer, the critters will really start to come back to life in the swamp. Unfortunately the mosquitoes will be there to extract most of our blood 🤣. If you gonna play outdoors in Louisiana, you gotta figure out how to deal with the bugs. Tara ain't gonna miss out on an adventure if she can help it! Those pan fish were not perch. They are sun fish. You caught a white crappie. All them fish are good eating. Ive been fishing for almost 64 years. I love it. I practice catch and release. Good Luck.
We actually call them bluegill around here. I know they not a real perch but for some reason a lot of us around here call panfish perch. We got different names for everything!🤣. We call crappie "sac-a-lait". Thank you!
