Guys it's simple: by the rules, the tennis net, should be outside the singles court for 3 feet (≈91cm) and same for doubles- 3 feet outside doubles court. The net is attached to massive posts and here comes the tricky part: For both, singles & doubles, the height of the net in the middle should be 3 feet but at the posts it has to be- 3,5 feet (≈ 1,07cm). Btw, In the middle it's lower cause of the gravity, simple as that 🤷♂️. ( That's why many players prefer to play mostly through middle of the net, and btw that's how all Meddy rallies are held; he tries to hit the ball flat, closer to the middle of the net, but very deep,and that's why his game is very defensive and as many compare- a "brick wall mode")) That's why he got a bit pissed off when he double faulted 2 times in a row doing the slice/curved service that hit the headband of the net.) So the majority of tournaments can't allow to have different courts only for doubles and only for singles cause the net posts are drilled in the ground and to remove them takes some time. So organizers along with ITF and of course ATP & WTA tour, found the way to put the net, like for the doubles- with posts outside the doubles line for 3 feet, and they put those metallic sticks 3 feet outside the singles courts to prop the net up to the height which it should be by the rules! That's it 🫡
If Zverev let this get into his own head, that's entirely his problem. In sport, youre supposed to learn how to manage various kinds of distractions, even "unfair" ones. That's what builds discipline and focus, and mental strength. It's part of the game.
