The issue with front axle articulation stems from the fact that the Hi-lux uses a fixed front shackle pin that pivots the axle away from the drive shaft in a radial arc. Consider changing the spring shackle system to have the fixed shackle at the rear of the spring and the slider towards the front of the chassis. Then the radial arc of the axle has to move closer toward the transfer and actually increases spline contact, not lessen it. Not a 5 minute job by any means and careful measurements for caster angles will have to be taken into account, but that would be my long term solution advice.
no shackles, I have slide boxes but one of the retain clamps opened up and allowed spring to flex to much, also slide boxes now a a retainer and limit front flex a little
@@boofsoutbackadventures4x4 I do, I know the builder and I know the hoops that Stefan had to jump through. It was a big headache, but he got there in the end.
Good one 👍

Great video. Pre ignition sounds less than ideal ?
I was thinking this too! I hope Stefan is onto it already - he seems like the kind of guy who has mechanical sympathy haha.
Sounds like the engine needs a bit of a tune. Keeps flaming out. It'll get worse in really hot temps.
That is a function of high gearing caused by 37 inch tyres. Needs reduction gearing re-visit.
Did you do that after Fraser mate.
yes mate 3 weeks ago
@@AlloffroadAu how did the ribs hold up ?
ribs are good again took nearly 6 weeks though
Old footage ?
Fully engineered on 37s ? Mmm dunno
I do know, not my first fully engineered vehicle It took a lot of time, knowledge, money and effort. ruclips.net/video/p1CcGzPJAKs/видео.html
@ sorry mate I just don’t believe you have that engineered on 37s
