Sully: nice view of the Hudson
Birds: *ya want an even better view?*
Lol

That court room scene is honestly the most satisfying thing I’ve ever seen
You know it was basically fake, right? The NTSB had already reasoned that the Hudson was the only option and practically rolled out the red carpet for Sully.
@@HowlingWolf518 still awesome
Shit, in the one actual public hearing, the lead investigator went out of his way to confirm that the sims where pilots did make it back (half the time...in a situation where, with a 95% chance of success, the potential consequences of the 5% justify not trying) were completely unrealistic.
Ye same here, even though it was an inaccurate scene it was still great
I'm your 700th like! Enjoy
The scene where the flight attendants are shouting in unison is so haunting. It’s a dead silent plane with creaks and cracks and people are basically shouting to brace for the end. I know that it’s not the ‘end’ in all cases but my point still stands. It’s so eery
the most sad thing i saw there was the unsure, frightened, scared expression on every passenger, some were confused rather than scared, but watching them shouting in unison is also scary because it brings a feeling of dread and emptiness in all of that
@@warszawianek thats the thing with this movie, it makes you feel like your in that situation. and its so fking good
bro i don’t think that’s the kind of bracing they’re talking about
Thank you Captain Sullenberger, First Officer Skiles, and flight attendants of U.S. Airways Flight 1549 for saving the lives of 155 people. In addition, thanks to the NY & NJ water and land crews. You're all amazing :-)
:-)
It’s us air not American Airlines
Nuno Soares Not American Airlines, it’s U.S. Airways
Nuno Soares they were U.S Airways. Not American xD
It was US airways not American Airlines but to be fair American Airlines does now own US airways
Can we all appreciate how well this summary was?
10 years since this happened!!
Oh is it a real story based on real incident?
@@rkfactsstories Yes
@@fathergabrielstokes4706 thanks for the information 👍
Father Gabriel Stokes oh so this happened since 2009
Sriwijaya Air, a 26 year old airplane, an indonesian airways just crashed last week. All decapitated no survivor,no complete corpse.
My family and I were on a ferry on the Hudson after the rescue. The plane was barely visible above the water at that point. I recognized in the movie where we departed from, which was a few thousand feet behind where 1549 fully stopped. I don’t remember it well, but it was definitely a strange day in my little 5 year old brain.
How or did your parents explain it to you afterward? Must've been strange for them too.
EskerbTH I think they did at the time, but I really didn’t understand it until several years later when they explained it again after the movie. I remember there being a fuss and a lot of talk about safety and miracles and stuff, but I didn’t know exactly. I was more focused on staying not cold, I think. 😅
The American RUclipsr Cherish it man, one day you’ll be like that guy who got interviewed on television in the 50s after being a witness at Lincoln’s assassination at age 5. All I saw was a crappy graphic of a plane doing roller coaster moves. I was 7 I think. Didn’t know New York was a thing and thought this happened in London. Good old days when disasters were so simple amirite?
i know this is the movie version which differs quite alot from the real events but i do love sullys confidence "please ask how many practiceruns they had."
The movie was very Hollywoodized. The investigation into the accident wasn't antagonistic towards Captain Sully or his co-pilot. While there were simulations showing that Sully could've made it (which were later shown to be wrong in any case) there was never a risk to Sully's career or reputation. All passengers and crew were safely taken off the plane. Captain Sully made a call and it saved lives. He wasn't going to be crucified.
Investigations into accidents happen all the time whether or not people die. They're what allow the air lines and governments to create safer means of travel.
People like drama and they need to sell tickets and movies. At least they aren't running the country.
Yeah but then we wouldn't have the pervasive 'everyone is unreasonably antagonistic' narrative that so many crappy people need to sustain themselves =p But yes I get similarly upset when people represent exceptionally determined and professional conduct by independent agencies to be incompetent and aggressive... it's pretty despicable.
hunterg24 It was a very good movie. A great script and good acting. I think you are focusing on the most trivial details. The importance of the story is that it highlighted Sullenberger's coolness, professionalism and ability in the face of a life and death situation.
@@tanler7953 Misrepresenting the aftermath makes you wonder why they bothered making a movie about it in the first place. If they were going to fictionalize it they should gone all the way and make a movie inspired by the events but with fictional characters instead of this charade.
I get it, when you see acts of heroism or events that inspire you then you want to do something to acknowledge or recognize it and filmmakers are uniquely positioned to do that through their craft. But unfortunately a lot of inspiring real life events doesn't line up with the standard format of cinema so when the choice is between good film making and the truth then the truth is thrown aside which begs the question of what was the point of making a film about a real event in the first place?
@@mikeyoung9810 How sure are you about that?
I had to say. Captain sully is a risk taken but a full convidence person
That was one hell of a landing, I would LOVE to meet this man just to shake his hand and say “Congratulations Captain Sully, You Are The Best Man Ever And You saved all those people, including yourself and you deserve all the Gratitude in the world.
Matter fact he was almost judged into 10 year prison
@@BMFORIGIGI After that miraculous landing and saving all those people including himself? WTF
@@BMFORIGIGI no he wasn't. He was never even close to serving time. The investigation was more of a formality.
@@tykeboy16 ye I aggre but the judge said that he couldn't land in Hudson which is hilarious

Capt Sully and 1st Officer and Crew God bless you all🙏❤️ and the Rescuers on that day ! I followed the news from day one
its a real Miracle!! ❤️🙏
Sully while landing looked like this isn't the first time he's done that
Invincibl3 what the fuck do you want him to look like. jesus
Given the real Sully was an Air Force fighter pilot it probably wasn’t his first water landing...first in a plane that size though
One of the greatest pilots ever five star Sully
"choosing to land on the hudson that was still a big if" like would you rather him try to land on a building or something???
Just call the Starship Enterprise to lend a helping hand.
Control center: we have an open space for you to land, land there!
Tom Hanks: No, I don"t think I will.
Great Job at the landing!! He saved so many lives!
great choice of music, and great vid, many thanks
not gonna lie the water landing was smooth for a water landing
2:42 i see on back an Concorde!
It's the Intrepid museum
✈️
Trew
oh yeah
WOW
If he did try to turn back to la Guardia that would’ve happened they would’ve crashes, they were to low
And if you said that to any of the real NTSB investigators, their response (from the very beginning) would be "Yeah, no shit".
If they landed anywhere but the Hudson they would have crashed with devastating consequences ....they did still almost take out the George Washington bridge though
That first scene scared me so much holy i dont know why but i jumped up 😂
this man is a hero and tom played him great
This is what happens when you mix Confidence + IDGAF attitude = heavy balls of steel
I wish i could have liked this video several times
This was a miracle. Captain Sullen Berger kept his cool. That saved lives
This is probably the safest emergency landing I have witnessed.
1:54 Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger: birds
Jeff Skiles: whoa
Good job pilots, its why we should always have a captain.
lol this is my first time seeing that crash scene no idea that was in the movie.
Nice landing captian
I love the way they tried to make the captains in the simulator look like the captain and the first officer
But they failed miserably... 😂
And I only watched the movie today and I feel bad because i always thought it was a Christmas movie :(
That mustache of the co-pilote is extraordinary too!

Sully is a good captain 🎉😊
Big Salute Sully👏👏👏👏👏👏
Any watering you can swim away from is a good one
Nice to see Skyler White is working for the NTSB now.
Very good
I watched it yesterday
and everyone claps when they land
If you've ever been on one of those 'dodgy' flights where you are buffeted around by the wind and come in sideways, then you will clap for the pilot. I speak from experience.
@@Karma-qt4ji I've only had one experience like that. I wanted to put the Captain and First Officer in my will when it was over.

Sully: I'm never die.
Though there were no deaths, many were injured because of there brace position I advise you to learn it or just look at the safety manual they give you
Sully:*says we have lost both engines after bird strike*
Copilot: no relight on engine 1
Sully minds probs: boi i may be 80 years old i know what i said
I just now realized they put CFM engines on the aircraft, it had IAE.
Nice pilot
my wish is to be a pilot from childhood and i will complete it
Its whose miracle water over 60 km/h like asphalt so hardly like stone.
Car breking 60 kilometer 36 meter stoped.
It’s so sad how many birds died that day 😂
I read the report. The board member accepting it said that it was definitely forced. Water landing and not a ditching… but that that nomenclature was irrelevant to the results.
2:45 nice dance lol
Good
did anyone onbourd record it with his phone?
Sully and the first officer did a great job
when you say Sully it reminds mr of Qantas Pilot Kevin "Sully" Sullivan
