The other benefit of a built-in navigation system is that the built-in typically doesn't need cellular signal to do route planning. When I was out in the middle of Cavan, I had zero mobile signal at points, and thus couldn't do any changing of the route using Google Maps. Downside is keeping the built-in system up to date.

Apple Maps doesn’t need cellular reception either. Especially not when used through CarPlay (that gives it a speed signal from the car for dead reckoning, and usually an extra GPS antenna to work with too).
You just have to download the maps for the country you’re in, or are planning to travel to while you’re on WiFi, then it works fine with no data at all.

The *hundred holes in the bumper instead of a grill to show people its electric* design trend needs to stop (imagine buffing or waxing it, compound in all those tiny corners, it’d be a nightmare).

Nice van. It's great to see it has all the assists for a vehicle that gets used a lot compared to private vehicles. I like high up. Wish i could justify it. Should be metric. The smaller one reminds me of an old HiAce.
    Thanks

An ashtray, in a 2024 vehicle. Nice. I don’t even smoke anymore, and I never did in my car, but it’s nice to know the options there (and they’re good for disposing of chewing gum in).

Good to see this sort of vehicle reviewed.
I wonder where the cutoff for battery powered commercial vehicles ends and something like hydrogen or fuel cell begins. Clearly this size of van can work with battery powered EV; but I think bigger vehicles will need something else as the power source before long.
If the depot or van owner can charge overnight from renewables there should be a pretty good economic case for this sort of van compared with the cost of filling up a diesel ICE, though the battery is getting large enough to be exenpsive. I am not sure this would be competitive on fuel if you had to do all charging on fast chargers at premium charging rates.

Hi Derek, fantastic video, thank you! Do you know if there's a AC socket in the cargo area of this van for using power tools etc? Thanks!

Unless they have built in extra margin, once the decision to impose Tarrifs is confirmed in November, there may be a price increase

Are the lights all automatic? Can't believe there is no stoke for the main lights. Seems dangerous that.

The Maxus SIAC logo us Shit. I am sorry but there us no other way of discribingbit abd I would say it puts a lot of people off. Rven Daeeoo had a better, more recognisable Logo. A M would make a better Logo for them. I have no idea what the current one is supposed to be. At least with a Ford or a Renault or VW you know your getting and the Logo too makes sense.
