  • Thinking, thinking, thinking, thinking. All that thinking isn't helping. In many cases its making things worse. If you're "an overthinker", or you find yourself so heavily invested in thinking and your thoughts that you can't imagine disregarding them, this session is for you. All are welcome.

    Stood back in some kinda awe and watched my mind 🤯 when someone once told me "you're not your thoughts, feelings, or experiences, you're the observer"

    I watch this Everytime I start overthinking and I give myself anxiety this helps me calm down
    I just wanted to say thank u so much for your videos you are helping so many countless people. And you are the first person I have came across who has finally made me feel like someone understands exactly what I am going through. I got diagnosed with severe anxiety since I was 12 I am currently 26 and I had got rid of it but ever since I had my baby 4 months ago all my anxiety has came back. And I am praying it goes away again I fought so hard to get rid of it and now I feel back to square one or maby even further back 😢

      Congrats on the new baby! Postpartum mental health issues are very common and do not indicate that you have somehow failed or that "it came back". I might point out the "fought hard to get rid of it" thing. None of what I am teaching is about learning how to get rid of anxiety. Its about learning a new relationship with it so that you don't see it as terrifying and something that must be banished at all costs. Always point at the right target. It makes a difference. xx

      Also, while I appreciate that I am able to help with this video in some way, be mindful of "I watch this video to calm down". That's a trap. The video is designed to teach you ways to relate differently when you find yourself caught in a storm of anxious thoughts. You would ultimately calm down and still be OK even if you didn't come back and watch this video. That's an important point.

    As I sit watching this with my head spinning I want to just scream and list all the symptoms that force me to think and think searching for a solution to the symptoms….I know I’m not supposed to focus on them, that is where the thinking starts….I want relief….I need to stop the thinking and stay busy….why did I let my job go? Why did I stop driving, my world has become so small that I have a million hours alone to sit and think……I need help. I honestly loved the part about not repeating mantras I tried it last night and it kept me overwhelmed and I couldn’t the sleep….I won’t try mantras again, ugh.

    I was in an insane "spiral" anxiety attack for 2 days thinking how i can fix myself and if its ever gonna be better. Listening to this i went on the bike and drove to a weird store walked around and went back. Realised action>thinking. Im gonna break this thinking habit.
    After my first major panic attack i was so stuck in thinking about it and thinking about everything trying to solve it. Solving it means not thinking about it?😅

    I am an over thinker - I have to think for my job so something I have to do, part of what makes me good at my job. My problem is over thinking about my anxious teen, when the solution is not mine, I need to allow my teen to find their own path to solve anxiety. The problem is trying to untangle the child from the anxiety and overthinking, worrying and trying to fix.

    • @TheAnxiousTruth
      @TheAnxiousTruth  2 года назад

      The problem is that when you do disengage from that, you likely feel uncomfortable and in some ways exposed and vulnerable. "What if I don't worry and I don't fix and something bad happens????" So the job is not to somehow flip a worry switch and turn off your thinking. That happens when you learn to navigate through allowing that discomfort. Sometimes this adjustment in "attack angle" can help.

    You make so much sense lol why can’t we see that ourselves lol. It’s in my mind it’s like yup this is exactly right , then the physical symptoms and layered thoughts that freak us out~ we sit in uncomfortableness in order to free ourselves! Right now I’m just sitting with anxiety and just truckin on and letting it be what it is 💖

    Yes this mind it's a stupid mind. It cannot differentiate.
    A=,A=A. So there is no point to argue with it.
    Definitely engaging in the phisical universe outside of us it's a good therapy.

      You’re having anxiety still because you are resisting. When you finally accept that you’ll have anxiety, that it’s OK, that it’s not so bad and doesn’t matter, when you decide to live WITH it and allow it and live anyway… then after a short time the anxiety fails to show up. An anxiety disorder is not a disorder that causes anxiety, it’s a disordered relationship with fighting and resisting anxiety. The very fact that you want it to go away so much is why it’s still there. Your brain is sending you anxiety to fight anxiety. Stop fighting. Accept anxiety, make friends with it, allow,it to be there and pretty soon that acceptance will stop your brain fighting itself and anxiety will slowly slip away a bit more every day. Take it from the millions of us who recovered.

    What about propranolol while doing graded exposure to prove to the mind it’s bs. Lime if you have a phobia of lifts and taking propranolol and riding the lift? Wouldn’t this still show the mind thoughts are BS bit make the exposure more tolerable? Then eventually wean of the propranolol?

    I think the main problems are not coming from the brain.
    Mind and brain are not the same thing. The problem usually comes from something called reactive mind. Which is not a hrain.
    Reactive Mind is an entity and like us wants to survive.
    There is a very interesting book which is explaining what this mind is and how can affect all of us.
    Anxiety its an emotion that actually comes from that mind.

    But what if your blood pressure isn’t fine? Or how do you know it’s a real medical issue vs. just anxiety that is making your blood pressure high.

    • @TheAnxiousTruth
      @TheAnxiousTruth  Год назад +2

      Then you treat your BP in accordance with the guidance you get from your medical helpers. How do you know? You get checked as everyone should, you get a trusted medical opinion, then you start working with reality that we can never know with 100% certainty ever in life.
