Sharesies and Hatch have helped a huge number of NZers of all ages to grow their wealth faster than the NZ average for banks etc. Their fee-based business model requires their investing clients to make frequent transactions, either by trading shares regularly (hopefully by buying low and selling high, which can be stressful to time properly) or, as they can afford it, buying and holding small parcels of their favourite stocks frequently (eg dollar cost averaging). Ironically the clients who are truly successful wealth creators (eg 800+% capital gains) have paid minimal fees and almost always simply a) done their deep dive research and then b) scraped together a decent chunk of money and bought and held one or two volatile but truly disruptive tech stocks (eg Tesla, Nvidia), with a plan to hold for 5-10 years.
Wealth exists, by definition, only in relation to the lack of wealth… I don’t think that this is one aspect of our talk poppy syndrome we should be pushing back against. Wealth is awkward and uncomfortable because inequality and poverty are growing in Aotearoa.
Her company was the first in NZ to democratise access to share markets by making it easy in app-form. Ain't nobody want to call up a stock broker. Stay moaning
@@RicoAshmore ''nobody want to call up a stockbroker''? you think people are just going to work hard and save money but cant be bothered making a call? either you are serious about money or not there is no looking for the quick option when it comes to your savings tf
600,000 people on Sharesies evidently disagree with you. Convenience is king. Ever heard of Visa and Mastercard? People willingly give them billions each year out of their SAVINGS for the sake of convenience.
Passive index fund investment, low fees, dollar cost averagev, be consistent and regular (say 20% of pay) and let it compound for the long! Term ie > 10 years. The earlier you start the better. As you get closer protect your gains. That's iylt, the entirety of what 99%of people need to know about investing. Forget active speculation of picking shares to buy as that is just a big scam. Sorted is a great tool.

They over state their model. Lots of people have always invested in shares . And plenty are doing the same thing in terms of their offering
