Johann Wald caught up with Interpol's founding guitarist, Daniel Kessler, in our studios to talk about the band's sold out tour, the experience of writing their last record remotely from and whether he sees a future trading the strings for the keys. The episode also includes a brief rundown of latest releases of the week.

Him saying how he is happy and that it isn't a chore to play older songs from all other albums makes me so genuinely happy, I have the same feelings of slight annoyance when bands don't want to play their old things for whatever reason. Love Daniel and Interpol so much 🥹❤️

Such a great interview. It really shows that the interviewer is a sincere fan of Interpol's music. So many interviewers say they're fans to the bands they're interviewing as a throw away statement, yet continue to ask general questions, that we've heard countless times.

Do you realize that Daniel is almost fifty years old? Evidently being a vegetarian keeps you young.
He never used drugs....also he is happy...thats obvious....a life being healty and out of stress...sleeping well keeps u younger...ask to paul that he stills smoking and drinking and he looks like a 70's man having also 50's...

Paul's case is a bit different since he kind of has to stand near the mic. He's probably referring to just the guitarists who don't do lead vocals
