    Okay, so I made this dish tonight and it was amazing! My 9 year old son thinks I'm a superstar. He devoured his share and begged for more. It just took a little extra time to cook it because I didn't realize you had to start the pot on high and then bring it down low to a simmer. I watched the video many times to get an idea of how it should look when its done cooking. Next time I'll be cooking like a pro, lol. Thanks so much for sharing this great recipe!

    Please, please, do more videos about cooking Portuguese dishes! This recipe is the greatest on RUclips. Loved it so much! There are many expats in Portugal now who are unfamiliar with local fish, vegetables, herbs - would appreciate if you’ll share your knowledge. Thanks!

    First let me complement you on your recipe! I made some variations only because of what was available in my pantry…. And the fact that I bought 1.6 lbs in four small octopi. I had to use half of a diced cooking onion, and I added some Bay seasoning along with a quarter tsp of red pepper flakes. Octopi were rendered tender in the pot, I used a large smoked baked potato instead of the ones you used along with a bunch of broccolini , I tossed it all with too much olive oil and used Malcom Reed’s brisket seasoning, heavy salt and pepper ! put them in the oven at 350°…..
    I just finished the best meal I’ve had in a very long time! Thank you for your guidance and charm in your video ! Very best JJK

    Thank you! I really enjoyed cooking this earlier today. I’ve always been tempted to try my hand at octopus but never had the courage to attempt till today. I literally watched four or five different videos before settling on yours, as it was simple, straightforward and your positivity and enthusiasm are simply contagious. I also learned a new way to do baked potatoes! I only did one tweak and decided to slow cook the octopus in the oven at 120c for two hours instead of cooking on the stove. Thanks again, this was just the pick me up I needed 🐙❤🌟

      that is what im thinking of doing in glass jar but not really sure how to preserve it long, someone said i need to boil it in 50/50 water and vinegar before i add it to oil in jar or maybe just a pickling brine of sugar wine and vinegar with some pickling spice?

    • @deniswoodcox4240
      @deniswoodcox4240 2 года назад +1

      @@ARCSTREAMS I take two cups 50/50 white vinegar and water and put about 1 tablespoon of sugar in it and heat it just to a low boil. Then let it cool. Cut up cooked octopus into bite size chunks and put in a bowl. Pour brine over it and put in the refrigerator over night and start eating it over the next week. It taste so good and doesn’t usually make it to the end of the week.
