Have all my pieces and was hoping this was an install video. Not what I wanted but I learned a lot and am happy with my choice to go all Groco for my through hulls and strainer assembly!

Hi thanks for the help, I am a marine valve tech and I have rarley delt with these valves surprisingly

I feel like Groco is so expensive.. I know most people will say not to go cheap on sea cocks but when my boat has had plastic ones for 10 years its hard to argue… I have so many seacocks to replace it would cost me thousands. Look at spartan marine its all hand made and bronze for legitimately a fraction of the price.

Thank-you. I would like to see your install. I recommend you darken the window behind you so your not misty from light flare.

When you went to the factory, do they have a shop right there to assemble/purchase the products you want? Any discount from purchasing direct? New Grocos are on my list for this off-season!

I could be mistaken, but it looks like you used a brass hose barb on the engine side of the bronze strainer basket. Brass shouldnt be used in raw water intake, it will act as an annode and could corrode away and worst case scenario sink your boat. Of course it could just be the lighting in the bilge that is mistaking me. Great Video, Cheers.

I would have used the BV or the FBV one because there's no thread to break! the thread is on the outside of the valve, the valve is bolted to the hull. I have Blake valves on my boat you can remove the cone to grease and a rubbing compound to reset if leaking. people have had them on there boats for over 30 years and still good. mine for 25 years. I can't believe you had your boat in the water with the one you had with all that rust. The automatic one is nice BUT something else to brake when closed then no water and can't use the engine. Hope your changing all of yours!

Thanks for your input. I looked at the Blake they look good but I like my new setup, I am changing all the old ones, one by one, these where the last two.
Also on the E valve you can still operate the valve manually

no Prices mentioned the safest boaters never leave the dock

Lots of boats sink at the dock. In fact probably more boats sink at the dock than out in the open water.

I am in quality assurance, and I would actually prefer a machine QA step, I think a machine QA inspector get do a much better job than a human.

you are wrong about the machines. Unfortunately.

Innovation is lowering prices by using computer tech for QC. Doing everything by hand is not innovation. No wonder groco stuff is so ridiculously overpriced.

Not really, I am capable of reading a website, all you did was repeatedly state that they don't use robots to make their parts, i.e. exactly the same as any small run producer of items like this.... I now see you have renamed the video...!!!
