I was looking at upgrading to a high end DD wheelbase outside of Fanatec with the older CSL Elite pedals with LC kit. With these recent announcements I think I'll go full Fanatec CLS and save a chunk of money.

@@vh7368 yes, depending on your budget. But you'll gain the most consistency from a higher quality brake more than a better wheel. Wait for the new Direct Drive wheel from fanatec it'll be $350 unless you have an endless budget.

@@vh7368 the V3 pedals after tuning them to your liking are great. Also there's a pretty cool mod called the Racecor24 mod improves the feel tremendously.

when you have the original CSL LC brake and you replaced the foam piece with a spring two years ago and then you see this.... Fanatec better give me some royalties

Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the new announcement. Do you believe Fanatec will eliminate the CSW line, or build that midrange gear with future announcements?

Good question. This is just speculation but I think we will see a wheel base between the CSL DD and the DD1/DD2/Podium. Assuming the 8NM CSL DD is ~$500 there's still that $500-1100 gap to slot another product into.
We've seen them drop the "Elite" from the CSL lineup and completely redesign both the main products. So maybe we'll see something similar with the CSW wheel base and pedals?
A CSW DD around $800? CSW V4 or maybe another slight rebrand for a higher quality set of pedals?

@@BallisticTech makes sense! It's going to be an interesting year for all of sum racing fans.
This will probably take a whole new video, but I'll happily watch you discuss the future of Fanatec logistics now as they start their entry into the affordable gear. They are not known for reliable customer service and hardware support/supply, so any thoughts on this will be nice. Thanks, and keep getting up involved with these updates!

FYI, it's pronounced exactly like the word 'fanatic'... Not 'Fan-A-Tech'... Otherwise good vid. 😉👍

Thanks. I've been workingn on changing my pronunciation. Unfortunately it's like engrained in my head atm. It's kinda the first way I thought of it and also how Barry from SRG and a few others typically say it. So it's been tough to shake. Especially in a video like this that's not exactly scripted and me freestyling a bit.
