    I've tried making this and it is easy and taste nice! i would recommend adding flavouring to it if u want to flavour the frosting to whatever flavour u like. but be sure to add the flavour when cooking it with the milk.(eg. vanilla extract, lemon juice, coffee, or any liquid flavouring) cuz if u add the liquid flavouring after u whip it with the butter, it will split and look grainy. because i had that happen to me before.

    Thank you for this recipe. I have seen variations of this recipe that require you to first cook the flour and milk on the stove until thick and then add it to a mixture of butter and sugar that has been beaten together until fluffy. I like your version much better and can't wait to try it.

    I love this recipe. But I do it a little different. I beat the butter alone, and then add the milk/flour cream. Sometimes I add 3/4 cups of cocoa powder in the cream (cook it all together), and then, after beating I add melted dark chocolate. It is divine. I also do with white chocolate, oreo crumbs... I have to test it with homemade caramel sauce and fresh raspberry puree, to see if it works. It can melt if it is REALLY hot (I know it, I live in Brazil), but it resists better than classic buttercream and it is really less sweet.

    I am impress with this buttercream, is a lot less sweet than traditional buttercream, is more like what you will find in a fine dining restaurant desert. Time and patients are ingredients here too so be very patient, is worth it! if your taste buds palettes are note ruin with the excess of sugar in everything at this part of the world, you will definitely love this buttercream. Thanks very much for posting and sharing Adilicious!

    Hi, I am making this buttercream right now, and it's quite runny, but smells really good and tempting. I've put it in the freezer for a while and then will whip again. I only work with IMBC, but after watching this recipe I wanted to give it a try. Could the runny texture be because I added really soft butter? The milk mixture was room temp too...

    • @Kezleigh_Art
      @Kezleigh_Art 8 лет назад +1

      +Diana Thompson Cake flour is not finer than all-purpose, it just has additives to lighten the density and stop some of the gluten protein development. Using cake flour might disrupt the thickness of the frosting.

    I have tried the american butter cream so many time but it's so sweet and a little bit grainy. so I was looking for a less sweet buttercream and I watched yours it's so good I always make this now

    Wow. So, if I wanna make chocolate buttercream - should I melt the chocolate in the saucepan or directly add melted chocolate while adding the butter?
    Btw, Great recipe. Going to try it. In an attempt to make lesser sweet buttercream, I always add half the icing sugar, which results in a runny buttercream, and I'm unable to pipe it. I'll definitely try this one. :)

      Vishakha Phatnani thanks a lot..do try it out!If you want to make chocolate flavoured frosting just add some melted and cooled chocolate to the cooled flour milk mixture and then start adding in the butter.
      You can even try adding nutella that also tastes great.

      So when I am cooking the mixture at that time I need to add chocolate? And then I need to cling wrap the whole mixture right?

    Looks great! Does it crust (I would like to use this under fondant), and does it have to be refrigerated since it has milk. Should I substitute with water to solve that problem? Thanks!

      +Michelle Oo I am afraid you cannot substitute milk with water.

      +Adilicious Thanks for the reply! I'll use milk. Can I use it under fondant and leave it at room temperature for a day or two?

    I had been wanting to try this recipe for a while. I made less sweet coffee buttercream and it was beautiful. Just so good! Thank you for sharing this recipe. It was really beautiful. I have a suggestion - could you do some videos about various egg replacements and how to use them? That would be very helpful!
